Appearance:
Faceclaim: Jake Gyllenhaal
The most striking thing about L'res is his pair of steel blue eyes, encircled by a ring of sapphire. His eyes are often, despite their unwelcome coloring, very open portals to his thoughts and emotions. Along with being the most attractive feature about him, they also are his most telling feature. When his body language is stiff and withdrawn, his eyes will tell you that he's actually laughing, and vice versa, especially when he's comfortable.
A long, oval face ends in a small, curved chin, making one unsure where the oval begins and where it ends. His narrow face results in his eyes being a little too close together, his nose a little too long, and his small mouth. However, it's barely noticeable, and it gives, as he says, his face 'character' to anyone that mentions it. Of course, if they've mentioned it, then it probably means they probably won't care if it gives his face 'character' or not. Despite the flaws, very little can be found unattractive about the bluerider.
Standing at around 6', he's not tall, nor is he short. L'res's quite content to be at average height (not that there's much he would have been able to do...) and he doesn't feel the need to have excessive muscle to overcompensate for his lack of height. As a result, he's built, but not overly-so for his thin and streamlined body type. He has a long torso, which is where most of height comes from, as opposed to longer legs.
L'res has no problem with playing up the eyes. While he'd rather be comfortable over anything, and is much more at home in his pair of comfy trousers and his favorite tunics, the rider has no issue with occasions at which he must dress up a little more. And when he does put effort in, well... A major flaw (or benefit, considering who you're talking to) in his dress up, is that he is terrible at matching, and usually gets someone else to come in and choose his clothes for him.
Most of the time, however, he doesn't bother with his appearance. Sometimes he'll play it safe, and walk around in neutral tones that are bound to go with anything. Others, he won't care at all, and will walk around in particularly strange color combinations. If L'res doesn't have an issue with it, then why should anyone else care?
Personality: Intelligence is certainly a double-edged blade when it comes to L'res. He can be too smart for his own good. It can prove to be a social barrier for him, in many cases- he'll become uncomfortable around people, and use his intelligence as a shield. Sarcasm is his greatest weapon, and he won't curb his tongue until he feels that he has 'proved himself superior'. This makes him seem pretentious, when in all actuality, he's only self-conscious.
Once you breach the initial barrier, however, he often proves himself to be clever, less pretentious than first thought. As soon as he is made comfortable, L'res is a talented conversationalist, who can talk on anything and everything. While still the same sharp, caustic person he is to those unknown to him, with his sarcasm clutched tightly to his chest, it becomes much more obvious that he doesn't mean what he says to hurt you.
L'res is not the most trusting person. He doesn't make friends easily, and when he does, he doesn't let go of them without a fight. One of the only things someone could do to break his friendship is break his trust, because the two are intertwined. If he doesn't trust you, he won't become your friend, and vice versa. A main benefit of this is that he is a very devoted confidant, even if it wouldn't seem like it.
He flirts with just about everyone that he knows well. Sorry. It's better than the sarcasm, but no matter how many times someone tells him to stop, he just won't. Flirting is one of his fundamental social bases, one of the main ways he knows how to communicate. That and sarcasm are used in different situations to diffuse tension and while, for the latter, it is used to keep people at a distance... flirting for L'res means he trusts you enough to not throw it back in his face.
Due to his intelligence, the rider has a serious issue with being wrong. With people of lesser intelligence, it's true that he'll get into arguments, play the devil's advocate... and if he doesn't win, he'll pull sophistry out of between, come up with some sophisticated idiocy that people tend to believe, and win out of default. Maybe it's a personality fault, but it's one of L'res's stress relievers. For this reason, he dislikes people who are smarter than himself, and doesn't often get along with them well- the often can see through his sophistry and put him in his place.
Hobbies/Skills: He is learned in his letters, and enjoys to write and read. He's often found among the Records.

Dragon Info
Name: Evanoth
Color: Blue
Age: 13
Description: Evanoth is rather small for his color, about the size of a large green. His entire body form, in fact, is more fit for a green. He's small and lithe, with extended limbs that are just meant to whip through the air. Although his wingspan comes up a little short, it allows him to tuck his wings closer to him for those rolls and other acrobatic movements that make him a valuable asset in the sky. Oddly disproportional with his shorter wings, Evanoth has a long, slender tail which dances through the sky behind him. Even when on the ground, his tail is always in movement.
Despite his green-esque form, Evanoth is distinctly blue in coloring. He has a grey-blue hide, which is quite similar to the steely coloring of His' own eyes. Unlike many dragons, whose coloring ebbs and flows along their bodies, Evanoth's stays fairly consistent. The only real discoloration is at the very tip of his tail, where an accident just out of the shell drew a jagged line going up about three fingers-width in a light silver-grey scar.
Personality: Above all, Evanoth is a fierce opposite to His' harsher personality. He is very good-natured and sociable, enjoying the company of other dragons. His sense of humor is developed and, despite L'res's frequent usage of sarcasm, he's never really grasped it. Although the more mature of the pair, taking less offense to words and generally reacting more positively towards different situations, Evanoth has his own major setbacks. For example: he has a surprising ego for a blue, and an excessive amount of competitiveness.
These would better suit a bronze, or even a brown, but as a blue, his high aspirations are likely to never be met. Knowing this, Evanoth focuses on believing that he is Faranth's gift to greens. He'll never come out and say exactly that, but the blue definitely believes that he is the handsomest, cleverest, and most agile creature there ever was. He gets very confused when the greens do not return his affections, and often pouts for a sevenday or two when he fails to win a Flight. After a mourning period that he deems appropriate, however, he's back up and flirting with every green around. Maybe he'll even try to flirt with Aeriath, one day!!
Evanoth balances out L'res quite well. He often encourages His to be more social, being such a friendly creature himself, and is often found to be nudging the man towards a pretty pretty girl. Especially if that pretty pretty girl happens to be a greenrider. Yes, Evanoth thinks that L'res should like the greenriders, much as he likes the greens. Or hey, even the pretty pretty boy greenriders! Those are good too! He would like it much more if His wasn't so frustrated, even after he put all his hard work into it and actually won the Flight.
History: He was ready to get out. It was dark and confined, and although it was warm, he was getting hungry. Hungry. Hungry! So out. Bursting out of his shell, and looking out and around him, he noticed that he wasn't the first... two of his clutchsiblings had beaten him, and would get to the food first. Well that was unacceptable. And look, his golden sister Aeriath had also hatched. She would take much of his food, and while she was welcome to it, he felt that he should have some, too. So, to find His.
Looking out at the prospective candidates, he immediately saw him. It may later be described as 'tottling', but it was actually a dignified stride that took him towards His. Just to shake the egg goo off of his wings, he opened them upon reaching the boy that would be his own. Oops. He knocked him over! Not wasting much time on the amusement-- he was hungry, after all!-- he continued towards the food. About halfway there, he realized that His wasn't following, and so he had to stop and turn. L'resMine, aren't you going to come with your Evanoth?
Evanoth waited for his own boy, and as soon as he was joined, the blue gladly continued to his food. He didn't understand why His was so stunned and excited and all that, but that didn't really matter. He was hungry!!
The dragon found, in the coming turns, that he liked his other clutchsiblings. Not all of them were so nice, but most of them were decent. He liked all of his draconic siblings, actually, and he spent much time with them, and encouraged His to spend time with Theirs. Although L'res didn't pay much attention to his words, Evanoth didn't much mind. Especially when he found his liking for the pretty pretty greens. They were especially lovely when they glowed, and then took to the skies, now weren't they? And why wouldn't they like him? He was pretty pretty too, wasn't he?
And so he Chased frequently, and although he never found a green who loved him as he deserved, the blue enjoyed himself immensely. He doesn't think he should be so low-ranking as a Searchrider, but he likes the children that he finds, and therefore doesn't mind his task so much. They tended to be nice, and like him a lot.
