All his family is at Haven Weyr, but L'nar came to Refuge for a new start and a chance to make the Weyr something special.
Appearance: Standing at 6'5 L'nar is a man often seen. He keeps his light brown hair short, much easier for wearing under a flying helmet. His eyes are a greeny/blue that show intelligence and kindness. He is a good looking man. He has a solid build, not overly muscled, but he is solid and hard and has well defined muscles. He likes to look good.
His face is oval in shape, with neat eyebrows that seem never to need trimming. His nose is the ideal shape for his face, slim, definitive, almost regal if a nose could be called such. He does like to have some facial hair, but with his light hair it takes a while before it actually shows.
Personality: L'nar is a cool, calm, capable man. He doesnt easily get annoyed and he is able to take everything in his stride. He enjoys being with his Szarth, but also enjoys working with the young and those eager to learn. He has a calm way about him that makes him approachable and understanding. This brown rider is everything a Brown rider should be.
There is a dark, black temper to him that when ignited flames like a fire. It is volatile, harsh and not easily controlled. But as he has got older he has learnt to deal with his temper and to defuse it before things get bad. He has learnt to walk from a situation that he knows will anger him. In his past he was known to hit things or people, but he doesnt do that anymore.
L'nar is exactly what a Brown Rider should be. He is loyal, trustworthy, dependable and has a vast knowledge. He loves his Szarth and the two are often conversing, discussing anything and everything that interests the pair.
Hobbies/Skills:L'nar was an apprentice Healer when he impressed Szarth, and once past Weyrlinghood he returned to his studies. He is a journeyman Healer now, very knowledgeable on the illnesses and diseases of the South. He is a good Dragonhealer also, but he prefers treating people to the large dragons.
He loves singing, but sadly he cant carry a tune. If he does sing he usually ends up with an elbow in his ribs to shut him up.

History: The result og a mating flight, Lianar was a happy young child who was always popular in the creche. He never seemed to cry and was easily distracted if he was grumpy or seemed like he was about to make a fuss. AS he grew he developed a good inquisitive mind, enjoying asking questions and finding out the answers. He seemed to have a natural flare for healing, working alongside the Weyrs Healers from 9 turns of age.
When he was 12 he was apprenticed to Justic, one of the Journeyman Healers, where he worked hard, studying and learning his chosen craft. He worked hard, enjoying the depths of study he could go with Healing, and using the knowledge to help people practically. He was searched at 15 and began to stand at Hatchings. When he wasnt chosen he carried on his Healer studies.
At 19, he stood for what was to be his final time. He had not impressed and was thinking maybe he wasnt going to be a Rider, so he would focus on being a Healer. But that wasnt to be. Szarth was first hatched and knew immediately who he wanted. The pair seemed perfect, and they excelled with their Weyrling training.
As they grew together they moved up through the wings, joining in mating flights. He only once joined a Gold flight; he didnt win, but he often won Greens, enjoying the rewards of such a flight. Two Green riders became close to him, becoming Weyrmates. He now has no Weyrmate, but he is friendly with the two women. He has three children from those relationships, and is proud of the fact that two are riders and the last is studying hard. He hopes she will impress too. He does see his children, but they arent all that close.
Tragedy struck the pair a turn ago when his father was killed whilst practising fighting with firestone. The pair went between immediately. L'nar will not return to Haven Weyr now, the memories are all sad and he has his life at Refuge.
Now the pair are Wingseconds in Shadow Wing, hard working and reliable, a pair that can be trusted and relied upon by the Wingleader and others in the wing.

Description: Szarth is a medium shade of brown in color. He is a larger brown, rivalling the smaller bronzes. Solidly bulit he has a barrel chest and sturdy legs. His sheer size makes him quite clumsy on the ground but in the air he is a good, fast if not agile flyer.
Szarth has a strange lumbering gait on the ground, having to almost skip when he moves. He finds walking awkward, much preferring to be either in the air or in the water swimming. He has a huge wingspan, which isnt always a good thing.
Personality: Like his rider Szarth is cool, calm and collected. He is the epitome of the Brown Dragon. Loyal, strong, willing and dependable. He likes to be with the young, whether weyrbrats or weyrlings, there is nothing better he enjoys than explaining something to young dragons. A confident dragon Szarth is quick to reassure and comfort.
He is impatient at times, especially if he feels he has repeated himself numerous times and they still cant grasp what he is saying. He is also extremely forgetful. More than most dragons. He seems to wake each day with a look of confusion, until he sees His and everything is alright again.
History: From the moment he hatched this was a dragon people knew would not let them down. He surprised many by his confidence at Hatching, knowing immediately who he wanted. The pair were bright and quick together, learning fast and everyone enjoyed being near them. Although at times Szarth's bad memory made it hard but they worked together to make up for this.
He found himself chasing the first Green of his life when he was turn old, he didnt win, but it gave him a taste for flights and he is now a frequent chaser with Greens, and the occasional gold. He has never won a Gold flight! These days he focuses on Greens, they are much more fun to fly.
