Sister: Therralis (25), Nanny at the Harper Hall, where her husband is studying.
--Husaband: Roran (29) Harper. Met Therralis at a Gather.
--Daughter: Therran (2)
--Daughter: Rallis (3/4 Turn)
Brother: Castin (22), Trader, as his father and brother.
--Wife: Bellen (19), Trader’s daughter.
--Son: Callen (3 Months)
Sister: Asris (19), Still young and free-willed, she plans to stay a trader and never marry.
Appearance: Holding a delicate appearance that belies her personality, Phaerie would appear to most as a ‘dainty girl’. However, appearances are often deceiving. A petite face and slim body that seems almost fragile give off a delicate vibe, but the trader is anything but. Her face is pretty and heart-shaped, with lovely eyes that give her a very elegant facade. However, she has an extremely deep tan from spending her entire life outdoors with the travelling caravan, giving her skin a very warm, honey-brown tone. She also holds a small sprinkling of freckles on her nose and cheeks, very noticeable against her dark skin. Even Phae’s voice is delicate, a light, airy tone that is often warm and joking.
Her cheekbones are high and her nose small, and her lips are small and soft. Her eyes, framed by dark, klah-colored lashes, are a stormy blue that could at times appear almost grey. The trader’s hair is rather long, falling all the way to her hips, and a gorgeous red-mahogany in color. It has just enough of a curl to it to make her soft hair wavy, and it frames her figure prettily. She always leaves it down. Phaerie does have her own amount of pride in her appearance, even though looks are far from being the most important thing to her, and so tends to look good most of the time.
The slight height of 5'3" adds to the girl’s delicate appearance, as does her dainty body. As a young lady, Phaerie is a slender girl with gentle curves that will surely blossom when she is older. She favors bright colors that stand out, and with her great tan she can wear almost any hue. The trader loves vibrant blues and greens, which are her favorite colors, but she will wear anything that is vivid in appearance. Phae prefers boots and wherhide leggings for her every day wardrobe, with a light shirt that stays cool. She saves her few, bright skirts for Gathers. Most of the time, the girl tends to wear whatever looks decent enough on her and is practical, her life of travel demanding something sturdy and useful. However, if there is a particular outfit that would look good on her, Phaerie will scoop it up and adjust it to her size.
Face Claim: Miranda Kerr
Personality: ”Live Fully, Laugh Often, Love Deeply.”
Raised with a travelling caravan of traders, Phaerie is a very free spirit. She hates to feel tied down to a certain thing too long, and enjoys doing as she pleases. Though she is not a trouble-maker, the girl has a very carefree attitude and will do whatever strikes her fancy at the time. She is not bound by any duty, and has spent her entire life doing what she wanted, when she wanted. Phae vehemently refuses to look into any crafts that women are known for, as she would never want to be tied to a job like that. She loves to travel, and she enjoys being outdoors and feeling the warmth of the sun on her face more than anything. Phaerie would never give that up for something as mundane as a craft. She lives fully.
However, the girl is a very affectionate person, and would certainly be happy to commit to the one she loved her whole life. She loves deeply. Phaerie does not consider a relationship, both romantic and friendly, a ‘job’ or being ‘tied down’; instead she sees it as a chance to share her life with someone she cherishes. She would not mind being committed to the person she chose, as she only hates to be tied down to a certain place or duty for too long. She is boundlessly loyal to those she cares about. Phae counts her friends as the most important things in her life, and anyone who has won this trader over will find she is the most faithful, dependable person they know.
As a trader, Phaerie has travelled from hold to hold her entire life, and has met more people than anyone could possibly remember. As her father taught her their way of life, the girl has learned well the ways of dealing with others. She is very good with people, and she posses a keen sense of judgment of character. Phae tends to read anyone very well and make an accurate verdict of their true personality and emotions. Because of her very sharp intuition, the girl is rather talented at handling others with flair, and tends to be able to barter and talk her way into or out of anything. She is a sly operator, and most people do not even realize she’s working on them until they are already won over. Of course, this gift mostly comes into play with she is trading with customers, and her father often let Phae handle the most stubborn ones.
Carefree and spirited, Phaerie does laugh often. She is cheerful a good deal of the time, and is rarely withdrawn and reflective. Live for the moment, she thinks, and don’t worry about tomorrow. She is an energetic and fiery girl, and tends to never back down from anything. Especially if you mess with her friends. She was never impressed with the ‘male dominance’ that most men seem to emanate, and will never fit into the ‘docile female’ mentality too many hold and craft women have. Phae is a livewire, but once you have her affection, she’s the best friend you can have.
Hobbies/Skills: Talented at her work, Phaerie makes a good trader. She is a people-person and can read others like a book. She can be very clever and convincing, as most traders are, but the girl is one of the best. She cannot weave like her mother, but she is a good artist and paints the pottery and toys the other traders make to sell. There are not enough materials for her to paint leisurely, but she does carry a bit of charcoal and extra skins to sketch when the whim strikes.
Pets: Wyndsong, a golden runner.
History: Born on a bright, gorgeous morning, Phaerie came into the world with the sun on her face. Aslodan was leading the caravan to the next Gather when her mother went into labor, and they were candlemarks from any hold or hall. However, as most traders, they travelled with a midwife, and the girl’s birth was easy enough. Though Aslodan insisted the rest of the traders could travel on, they had a small but loyal caravan, and they all waited until Therris and Phaerie could travel before moving on.
Childhood was a constant adventure for the girl, always moving and always seeing new things. Aslodan and Therris were good parents as well, though all the caravan children tended to run and do as they wanted while they travelled. Boys and girls alike grew willful and free, having no attachments outside of their love for each other. Of course, each night was spent at their own family’s campfire, still expected to obey their relatives.
Though Phaerie loved all of her family, her favorite by far was Castin. Of course, he was the closest to her in age, and they shared many hobbies. He was her idol, and she adored him endlessly. She was relieved when, turns later, he decided to stay a trader instead of take on another craft. She has never understood how Elres and Therralis could be tied down to Halls when they had been raised in freedom. They, along with the other children, spent their time swimming and riding, and playing small pranks on each other. As she grew, the girl also took up with Conall’s daughter, Coleene, and is her ‘big sister’. When Phae turned thirteen, her father bought her own runner, as was tradition in her family, and began to teach her their craft.
From an early age, the girl was a promising student, holding a remarkably accurate intuition and hitting characteristics of others on the dot. She could speak to someone for a moment, and tell her father he was a stingy wherry, or she was a dishonest woman, or even if that man was not as rich as he tried to act. Phaerie embraced the life of the trader, and loved the freedom and adventure it provided. She planned following in her mother’s footsteps; to marry a trader and enjoy travelling Pern as she wished. She even discovered she held an artistic talent, and spent much of her time painting pottery, toys, and other trinkets the others made for Gathers.
As they were visiting a stable one night to purchase some new runners, the girl spotted a suspiciously well-dressed man whispering vehemently with his companion before grabbing the other’s shoulder and shoving him out the door. Intrigued, Phae glanced over to see her father engrossed with bargaining with the stableman, and crept out to investigate. Naturally, she thought it would be something amusing, such as a romantic entanglement or other foolish cause to fight, but instead she heard something she was not expecting. This was Koldyn, the son of Igen’s lord holder (she recognized him from a Gather), and he was on a quest that she could not have imagined.
“What did you think you were doing in there?” The holder’s son hissed, shaking the other again.
His companion, a young guard by the look of him, seemed ashamed. “I was only having a drink, my lord.” He said quietly, looking for the entire world that he was about to be eaten alive.
Koldyn looked furious. “Only a drink? Three flagons of quickal and Faranth knows what else? We cannot afford you to get drunk and start spouting off about our mission to the South!” Though livid he was, the holder whispered softly, and Phaerie had to lean close to even hear.
The South! Phae’s eyes widened, and she immediately knew exactly what it was this holder’s son was trying to hide. The dragonriders had been banished to the South, but there were whispers flying through the holds about bringing them back. Travelling to every Gather had it’s merits, such as hearing every single piece of gossip and discontent that flowed from hold to hold. Speaking even softer now, Koldyn continued, and the trader held her breath and tried to creep closer. However, another approached the pair at that moment, and the lantern he held washed across her. For a moment, the four of them just stood there, until Phaerie finally got over her shock. “Well, it sounds like the biggest adventure I’ve ever come across. When do we leave?”
Stunned faces stared back at her, before Koldyn drew himself up and tightly replied, “You will apologize for spying on a lord’s son, and I may forgive you.” The girl blinked, then gave a reply of her own that clearly stated just what she thought of that.
Needless to say, much arguing ensued, but at the end of it all, Phaerie joined Koldyn and his two companions, bound for Southern Boll, and then the ocean. Her father was one of the more influential traders, and she herself happened to be a very persuasive person when she wished. Of course, arrogant and snooty as he was, Koldyn wasn’t a monster, and wasn’t sure how he could keep the girl’s mouth shut outside of killing her or bringing her along. His father had entrusted him with this quest, and he wasn’t about to risk all of Pern finding out because this…trader girl ran her mouth.
Upon reaching the Southern Continent and actually discovering a full-fledged, mighty weyr, some of the Northerners were chosen to stand at the next hatching by blue dragons. Phaerie was among that number. Nervous and excited, the trader was amazed when beautiful, perfect green Freyath raised rainbow-whirling eyes her way. She was a dragonrider now.
Name: Freyath (Fray-ath)
Impressed To: Phaerie
Color: Green
Age: Newly Hatched
Description: A dainty dragon, Freyath is of a slightly smaller size than the average green. Although she will be petite even after maturity, what she lacks in size she makes up for in presence. Despite her stature, this green is a gorgeous dragon who will certainly turn heads. Built lithe and lovely, Freya is a sleek creature with graceful proportions. Her head is elegantly-shaped, and she exudes an air of dignity. Her hide is a rich, deep green, the color of dark emeralds. A slighter darker shade of green can be found on her belly and down the length of her tail, as well as a strikingly-light jade for her wingsails. Freyath’s claws are the same light jade.
Personality: With several qualities one would expect from a green, Freyath is energetic and has a heavy sense of vigor about her. An extremely intense personality and a strong presence, it is hard to ignore this dragon when she speaks. She simply enjoys being alive, and so is hardly ever quiet or melancholy. However, she is not lively in the sense of acting overly-excited, but is rather feisty. Freya holds strong beliefs in herself, and she is free-spirited. Flirting dragons will find that this green is a hard one to woo, and she will not simply fall for idle compliments or sweet words. You will have to work hard to earn her respect or her affection.
Rather poised, this dragon carries herself with dignity and sense of self-assurance. Freyath knows that one day she will grow into a good wingrider, however because of her size she will not last as long as most of her green sisters. Even though she can be called rather friendly, Freya is not what one would consider ‘open.’ While she will tell her rider absolutely anything and love them unconditionally, other dragons will need to win her over before she truly bonds with them in the sense of camaraderie. This green is not afraid to speak her mind to any dragon, up to even the bronzes, and may get in trouble some day over it.
History: After Rath Impressed, the Silent Nature Blue was finishing cleaning his hide...again...as the Wise Beauty Egg began moving quickly. Shivers ran down the shell mightily, and the egg shuddered once before sharp talons broke the surface, cracking off small pieces quickly. The small paws were a dark, emerald green, quite clearly seen against the pink and gold shell. Glancing over at the egg, the Silent Nature Blue quickly skittered away, intent on not getting covered in egg goop again. Darting away from his hatching sister, the blue approached the waiting boys, beginning to move down the line slowly.
While the blue strode slowly past the candidates, the Wise Beauty Egg was quickly being torn apart from the inside, the emerald dragonet clearly seen now. Trotting away from the ruins of her shell, the rather small, dainty green tossed her head in a feisty manner and curled her tail, staring at the boys dubiously. No male was destined for her, that much was certain! Snorting in a spirited manner, the green trotted over towards the girls, eyeing each one as she moved lithely past. Her tail curled and twirled as she sauntered down the line of females, brushing past their legs. Pausing, the green danced in place, whirling eyes finding Hers among those before her. PhaerieMine! She exclaimed, prancing before the trader with her neck arched. The night is young, and your Freyath is a daughter of the wild. We shall enjoy it!
