S’nuo’s eyes had found a twinkle to hold as she mentioned that she needed to get use to the idea of heights. It sort of surprised him in two ways – the first that a dragon would even chose a person afraid of such things and the second that the previous candidate master had not held her off the sands until she was able to handle it. Ah, the more he heard of what B’ren had told her as a child the more S’nuo wondered if there was some part of the young woman B’ren had not meddled with.
“Are you telling me that the green rider Eira is afraid of heights?” he asked, almost unbelieving of what he was hearing.
Well that is a silly thing to be afraid of. Siath will not drop her. The blue sent as he shook the water from his hide at the edge of the lake. Moving up toward them, he laid in the grass on the other side of S’nuo, letting his tail snake around the pair and even going partly around the little green as if embracing them all.
Good Afternoon Siath. The little blue crooned before beginning to lick at his front forefeet.
“I agree, Malith. It is a silly thing to be afraid of.” S’nuo replied though his eyes never left Eira. “Has B’ren never taken you riding after putting such stories into your head?”

Eira was a little surprised that the previous candidate master had planned to send her to the sands until she heard his explanation. The man had felt she would eventually get over said fear, as it was not as bad as some others in the past. Siath had felt it as well and she chose Eira despite her small fear. For now, lower heights were more than fine but the higher one's she had no idea how she would fair. In all honesty, most of her fears that dealt with dragons had to do with B'ren. Almost all of those fears were gone by now, minus her mild fear of heights.
Her cheeks flushed as he asked his question. “Mild fear.” She told him lightly. Siath rumbled lightly hearing their discussion. ”Silly Eira, you know I will not drop you!” The young green told her rider not knowing Malith was saying the same thing. ”I know! But I never been up higher than just above a house!” The green rumbled again and she nodded her head to the older blue. ”Good afternoon to you too, Malith.” The green replied, she was a little warmer to him than last time. First meetings were always awkward to the little green.
There was a small meow from Joris who in his own way was greeting the blue Malith. While she normally glanced at the little kitten of hers, she kept her eyes on S'nuo. As she was told it was a silly thing from Siath, then S'nuo and his Malith, she blushed a little deeper. “I've been on low rides but nothing incredibly high.” She told him off hand. “I know the lower one's are just fine and all, it's just the higher one's I'm worried about having never been on one before.”

Listening to her reassure him that it was only a mild fear left S’nuo chuckling. Continuing to lean back on his elbows, he lifted his face skyward and closed his eyes to enjoy the sun for a moment. “Well I am sure Siath will fix that. She will take you high and far. I’d offer a ride now, but most Weyrlings tend to stress over their riders so we’ll save Siath the anxiety.”
Opening his eyes again, he looked back at her. He really should be going, with the number of things he needed to do and people he needed to talk with about apprenticeship for the Candidates, but he enjoyed the simple conversation. It was not often he got to have a conversation with a woman that was purely simple. He liked that he could relax around Eira after having known her for so long even if not closely.
“I’ll give you some friendly advice though. Get a lot of flight time in before she rises for the first time. If not your liable to get sick during it.”
Eira is nice and Siath is pretty. I would like to be around when they rise. That is something I’d rather not consider Malith… Then why did you bring it up? Friendly conversation. Yes, they are both friendly.
The desire to hide his face in the palm of his hand was great at that point, but S’nuo resisted. Eira was nearly 12 turns younger than him, the little green over 20 turns younger than Malith. The idea of joining a flight with two so much younger… it was almost disgusting really. He was not that sort of sick individual. No, there would be a pair much younger than they who would be more than willing to win the flight.

”Too bad I didn't mention this to you before the eggs hatched, maybe then I would possibly get some experience under my belt!” Eira joked lightly. “Really I have no doubts she'll take care of me up there but...I am planning on not eating before that lesson gets started. Just as a precaution.” ”You like talking to certain people more than others...” Siath mentioned off hand to her rider. ”That I do, why did you mention that Siath?” ”Oh...No reason, you just seem to speak very freely to him that is all.”
Eira found it easy to talk to most seeing as she often worked with healing people and kind words worked wonders in those situations. Of course, when it was just talking like this, well...Eira found S'nuo incredibly easy to talk to. It probably helped that she had known him for so long. It was easier to talk to someone when a person knew how they were personality wise and knew what wouldn't really offend them. It also helped that he was relaxed himself, that, probably had to do with him being an older man. He didn't become flustered around a pretty woman like some did.
Hearing his words of advice, the young woman blinked at him for a moment before letting out a light groan. “Don't remind me, I'm honestly not looking forward to it. If I knew what will hit me when it happens, I will gladly find a broom closet to lock myself away in.” Eira replied firmly before letting out a soft sigh. “It is good advice though, I'll be sure to keep that in mind.” She told him with a small smile.
Oh what little did she knew what Malith decided to bring up. She would whole heartily agree with his thoughts and tilted her head as she watched Joris walked past her to inspect Malith a little closer. “Malith will be fine with him won't he?” She asked slowly. Siath was watching the feline herself. ”Be careful with the feline...My Eira has grown rather fond of him. I rather not have her upset if something happens.” The green carefully told the older blue, not bothering to tell Malith that she to had grown fond of the little creature.

Needless to say, Malith had been watching the feline as much as the feline had been eyeing him over the past several minutes. Having found his conversation over with his rider, the blue had turned his full attention to the fur ball. By the time the little kitten had gotten brave enough to walk up to the blue, the blue too had decided that he was in fact curious as to what the ball of fur would taste like.
Laying his head down, he waited perfectly still until the kitten was close enough before he let his long forked tongue snake out and wrap around the kittens middle, easily scooping him into the blue dragon’s open maw. Closing his mouth around the kitten, he paused at the green’s words, giving them a moment to actually sink in.
Even as Malith got a sheepish look on his face at the green’s words, S’nuo turned to see his mouth closed and no kitten in sight. Lifting a palm to cover his face, the Candidate Master let out a moan. “Malith, please tell me you did not swallow that thing…”
Opening his maw, Malith let his tongue roll out, spilling a wet and sticky kitten onto the green grass.
NOBODY TOLD ME! he cried out near hysteria as he realized he had done something terribly wrong.

Joris was trying to take a sniff of Malith when the unexpected, at least to the little feline, happened. Siath was glaring daggers at the older blue and Eira's eyes were wide as one hand covered her mouth. Thankfully, S'nuo asked his blue the horrible question. “Please tell me he didn't...” She whispered softly. Oh please tell her he did not swallow her little tunnel kitten.
Thankfully, Malith opened his mouth and let the little feline out. The cat was complaining and looking well, mighty unhappy while Eira stood up and scooped the now slimy kitten up into her arms. Gross but, she would head over to the lake to get him washed off. “You, just used up one of your nine lives you curious cat!” She scolded the cat who let out an annoyed meow. ”I told you!” Siath replied coldly. For such a little green she had plenty of venom in her voice for what happened to the little creature.
Eira on the other hand, was just relieved that her Joris was okay. “Malith, calm down.” Eira told the blue lightly. “He's okay, dirty, but okay.” She tried to smile at the dragon who was obviously upset about the mistake. “I'll just...Wash him off...In the future though, I would greatly appreciate it if you don't try eating him again Malith. I think Siath would to.” The green's head snapped to look at her Eira. ”He does not need to know I like the feline!” That comment made the young woman laugh. “Correction she would be appreciative herself.” With that, Siath let out a small grumble and laid her head on the ground. Eira smiled a bit at the green as she held the cat to her loosely. Sighing, she looked down to S'nuo, her cheeks reddening for a moment. “I should have been watching him closer, it's far from Malith's fault for almost...Eating him.”

The blue ducked his head letting out an audible whimper as his eyes began to swirl a distressed yellow. The green’s cold snap at him, even with how young she was, had the gentle hearted blue greatly upset. Sensing his gentle giant’s distress, S’nuo was up on his feet instantly and moving toward the blue’s head. Caressing the eye ridges telling him he was alright and that nobody was really mad, well beyond the kitten.
Hearing Eira’s comments that it was not Malith’s fault did little to sooth the small adult blue. Giving the side of his dragon’s face, S’nuo brought his hand to the back of his neck to brush across the very short, stubble of hair there as he sighed.
“I’m sure the kitten will be alright. Malith too. Come on you fiend, let’s go before you work yourself into a frenzy…” Turning to Eira, he gave her a shrug that told her there was little he could do beyond moving his dragon out of the situation he had put himself into. “The big bloke won’t sleep if I don’t distract him with something… I’m sorry about the feline Eira.”

[blockqoute]The green seemed to sigh as she stood up, she didn't mean to make the older blue so distressed. Siath had been simply annoyed that the little feline was almost killed because Malith didn't realize that her Eira was attached to him. ”Siath, be nice to him, Malith did not mean any harm. He just didn't know.” Eira told her green who nodded slowly. ”I am sorry for snapping at you Malith.” She told him slowly, her words trying to have a little more warmth in them.
Eira bit her lip as she looked at S'nuo, she honestly felt horrible about this and she didn't know what to say to him. It was sad that their nice little talk was coming to an end though. She really was enjoying it and she wanted to learn some more before the classes. ”You're an eager student my Eira.” Siath commented off hand and Eira glanced at her young green for a moment. ”Yes I am, but really, Malith meant no harm. It was an accident Joris is angry but he is okay.” Siath did not reply but did nod her head and looked towards Malith while S'nuo spoke.
”Once again I am sorry Malith, I did not mean to snap as I did. I just do not want me Eira upset. Please do not work yourself into a frenzy for something I said.” Eira sighed lightly as she looked up at S'nuo. “I'm sorry about this. Hope he'll be alright and take care S'nuo, until next time.” The young woman shared a small smile at him before she turned and wandered over to the lake to get Joris cleaned up. To say the least, Joris did like being cleaned up more than being in Malith's mouth. [/blockquote]
