Since U’ski hadn’t even bothered trying to sleep the night after the hatching, he had gotten things set up at the lake nice and early. Pots of oil had been set up around the lake, one for each new weyrling. Today’s lesson would be easy enough, just bathing and oiling the dragons and discussing the bond between dragon and riders if they had time. Though he had warned the new weyrlings to wake up early for the lesson, U’ski had Toroth give all the new dragons a warning that they had an hour before the lesson started. Weyrlings! You have one hour before the first lesson starts at the lake. Make sure you aren’t late. With nothing left to do but wait, U'ski took the chance to munch on a sandwich he had taken from the kitchens before coming out to the lake, dark eyes watching the eastern sky as it slowly started to grow lighter. Eira had woken up early, two candlemarks before sunrise. Honestly it had not been a problem for her to wake up so early. Siath was still asleep when she woke too, giving the tall girl a chance to get washed and dress herself. By the time she was done getting ready, Siath was awake herself. ”Are you hungry?” Eira asked as she quietly walked over to her dragonet. ”Very, my Eira.” Nodding, the girl carefully lead the dragonet out of the barracks and headed to the Weyrhall with Siath.
For now, Eira and Siath were very early and she didn't take long to get what she needed for Siath to eat. She was quick to cut the chunks into small pieces and fed the young dragon her breakfast first. Siath was a quick eater, already taking care to not make a mess of things as she gobbled up the meat chunks. Water was drunk with care too and once Siath was done, Eira was able to take a little bit of time to wash up her hands before getting something to eat first. A nice hot cup of Klah and a rather normal breakfast that she practically inhaled. “You don't want anything more right Siath?” ”No my Eira, I had enough.” The green mentioned. Eira smiled and reached up to scratch an itchy looking section of her lifemates hide. A soft croon left Siath. “We'll get you nice and clean today Siath, wonder if anyone is up yet too.” She mentioned lightly really, it was still early than she really needed to be up.
Getting the dirty plates cleaned up, Eira soon lead the green towards the lake when Siath paused. ”We have one hour before the lesson starts my Eira.” Glancing up to the dragon, the girl raised an eyebrow. “You're kidding me...” ”Not at all.” “Well when we're done with lessons you'll probably need another meal, so if you get hungry during it think you can try to hold off for a bit?” Eira asked as they started walking. ”I'll try.” The dragonet said quietly to her weyrling.
As they neared the lake, it looked like they were the first to arrive and U'ski was eating his own breakfast. “Are we too early Sir?” Eira asked as she neared the tall Weyrling Master, oh she knew they were early but, she was worried that they were too early.

J'von didn't always up before the sun started to rise, but he did this morning. Perhaps it was just the excitement of starting their first lesson, or perhaps it was just the content of the lesson. He was going to learn how to bathe and oil Mnemoth, something that he was aware was very important when it came to dragons, especially when they were still growing. Not oiling them when they needed it could cause them to grow unhealthy and have all sorts of complications when they were older. So it was only well that the Weyrlings learn how to do that now, since it was something they would have to do a lot in the near future, and something they definitely needed to learn sooner than later. He didn't know how early he was up, but he thought it was probably before the hour at which U'ski had wanted them up, even if it wasn't quite two hours, like he had suggested they might want to do. Mnemoth was curled up and dozing peacefully. J'von watched him for a while, and for the moment it almost felt as though his mind was his own again. While Mnemoth was asleep, that bond was asleep as well. He could still feel the dragon's presence, but not because the dragon himself was reassuring him of his presence. This probably wasn't a bad thing, but J'von wasn't sure if he liked it. Well, he would have plenty of time to get used to it.
And once again, he felt amazing disbelief at having Impressed. It seemed like some kind of wonderful dream that he was going to wake up from. It just felt so sublime to imagine that Mnemoth had chosen him; out of all the other Candidates the Brown could have gone to, he had gone to Ajallvon. He certainly didn't want to wake up from this dream. J'von watched the sleeping dragon and thought for a few minutes, but finally he decided it was time to get up. He went through his regular morning routine as quickly as possible, and came out to find that Mnemoth was still sleeping. Not really wanting to wake the dragon up, he just waited beside him and watched the horizon grow the slightest bit lighter. The dragon suddenly awoke beside him. Toroth says we have one hour before we must arrive at the lake, he informed J'von.
"Don't worry, we'll be there," J'von said with a smile as he scratched the dragon's eye ridge. "There's not much left to do except go down actually." Well I don't think he'll want us down there yet. We might as well find something to occupy ourselves with. Mnemoth flopped down after he said this and watched J'von out of his multi-faceted eyes. The dragon didn't appear to be sleepy anymore, and he was probably as excited as J'von about this lesson. The hatching had only been yesterday, and J'von still felt a bit overwhelmed, but this was going to help. He'd seen plenty of other Weyrlings go through the same thing, and now it was his turn. He and Mnemoth.
"All I really want to occupy myself with is giving you a bath," he admitted to Mnemoth's inquiry after having sat restless for some minutes. I expect there are others ready to go as well, but he probably doesn't want that many down early. Some of them are still going to show up when it is time, and not before. "I suppose you would like to do that?" J'von asked. It would be best, Mnemoth admitted. J'von figured that just depended on the dragon, but agreed to wait for a little while. He still planned on showing up early, since there couldn't be much of a problem with that.
"How long have we got now?" he asked a while later. Mnemoth was still lying on the floor, but J'von had spent the time washing down his already-clean room until he couldn't find anything to complain about except the dragon, who he couldn't wash until he was told how, which they would be doing soon. Mnemoth got up off of the floor and went over to J'von. Why don't we just go down now? I'm sure he would love to have us early. Mnemoth did not sound like they would be welcomed early with open arms, but J'von ignored it. "It's probably not even that early, a half-hour left at most. Might as well get there now. The only thing I have that needs cleaning is you."
Then you had better do a very good job Mnemoth replied. Don't worry, I will. I've got plenty of practice. Indeed, it was as though he had spent all of his life in practice for this one moment, when he would learn to care for the thing that now mattered most to him. They had arrived down at the lake, to find that they weren't the only ones with the idea of coming early. No doubt most of the weyrlings had woken up early and were therefore ready to get down there before the time they needed to be there. U'ski was there along with Toroth, and it was him that J'von went to upon his arrival. "We decided to get here early, Sir, and if it's no problem to you, we'll just wait here." As long as they weren't loud, it probably wouldn't be any sort of trouble. Mnemoth followed J'von silently and butted up against him with his dragon head. He reached his hand back to scratch the dragon affectionately, although his eye was already wandering to the lake, and thinking with feverish excitement about the moment coming up.

K'len being very excited about starting lessons and having a new little dragon to take care of woke up before their was light in the sky.He quickly washed up and dressed for the day making sure he wore old working clothing cause he knew that they would be learning how to take care of their dragons. Rhyseth tummy was grumbling so she was grumbling as well. Hungry minek'len hungry feed me please, Are you not hungry too. He hurried up and got the food for Rhyseth at the designated spot that the weyrling Master told them about the night before. He made sure he got enough meat to feed her hungry tummy. As he watched her carefully making sure she ate but not to much so she wouldn't get sick from eating to much or to fast. He stopped as soon as she started to slow down knowing that she was getting full.
K'len then cleaned up his hands and ran off to grab a quick bite to eat a couple meat rolls and a drink so his stomach would not growl and interrupt the lessons. Then he lead her down to the lake to meet the others. He wanted to be on time and not miss anything cause he wanted to do his best at taking care of Rhyseth. He didn't go very quickly cause he wanted rhyseth to keep up with him so he walked slowly and carefully.

R'kin sort of rolled out of bed as his dragon pulled on the covers then Krestanovith said, "Up now hungry," as he playfully butted R'kin. His rider got up then playfully smacked the dragonet on the hyde and then got dressed in worn brown pants with a grey shirt. The weyrling put on black boots well worn black boots that had seen better days and they went down to caverns to get some food. While he was there the weyrling got some klah for himself and stew then got big hunks of meat. A quick use of knife work and he had the food cut for his dragon then said, "I'll be glad when you can hunt for yourself,". His plain way of speaking was to speak the truth and he looked forward to the dragon growing up to be able to hunt for himself.
When it had been about thirty minutes of feeding the dragon and he smiled. The weyrling fed himself enjoying the stew and klah in the fresh sunlight. He enjoyed eating out of the dark spaces of the lower caverns because enclosed spaces got to him. R'kin took the dishes back down stairs and the knife as well then he took his dragon along with him to the lessons. A few other people had arrived and he just smiled then asked, "Where do we start first," as his bronze was already looking at the water? It was only a second before the dragon went into the water and came back up enjoying it. "Get back here," said R'kin as he looked around embarrassingly as a bronze his dragon would have to learn that his behavior was always being watched. "Not fair, " said Krestanovith as he sulked coming back up wet to stand next to his rider. It was apparent that his dragon had a mind of his own and would eventually listen R'kin.

Marlaey was woken abruptly the morning after the hatching via her face hitting the floor. Yelling out she scrambled up, tangling herself in her bed sheet in the process. Elynth was startled awake with the shock and confusion her rider was feeling. She bounded over to her, tripping herself up and falling into the bundle of girl and bed. Now with the weight of her dragon in the mix, Marlaey was flailing wildly, desperately trying to wriggle herself out of this mess. Elynth's eyes whirled in confusion and concern, MarlaeyMine! Where are you?? she cried, snuffling through the bed and trying to dislodge her back legs and tail from the rest of the sheets, Is that your foot? I've found your foot!
At this stage Marlaey just gave up and laughed. Well this wasn't exactly the proud moment of waking he'd envisioned. But still! She laughed harder when Elynth's snout brushed past her foot, tickling her. She collapsed into giggles, No no! Elynth! No! Stop! That tickles!! The golden Queen had no idea what to do now, she crooned helplessly to her rider, Marlaey! It's got me! She looked down at her legs and tried once more to free them, but only managed to get even more tangled, which actually used up more blankets and untangled Marlaey!
Crawling out of the heap, Marlaey was still recovering from her fit of laughter when she began pulling everything off her dragon. "That was an adventure and a half at any rate!", she sighed wearily, "Well I s'pose I should get you fed now." Elynth's eyes sparkled in agreement as she headed straight for her breakfast.
Once they were both fed and watered and Marlaey was clean, they decided to check and see what time it was. But surely they wouldn't start without us my love? Marlaey looked down at her, "No of course not, but we shouldn't be late either!" Elynth blinked suddenly, Oh, Toroth says we've still got an hour. What will we do til then? Thinking for a moment, Marlaey half suggested tidying up the mess they'd made, but Elynth just snorted, We both know we don't want to do that now!
After a few moments of consideration they decided upon sketching. Or at least Marlaey was going to draw and Elynth was going to pose. Parchment and drawing materials were hard to find on Pern, but Marlaey's mother had spent many a long day working to save up enough to find and buy small amounts to fuel her daughters talent, so Marlaey was lucky enough to own a few scraps here and there. She pulled them out now and sat down on the floor with Elynth before her and began to draw. "You're perfectly in proportion you know love?" she said as her hand moved across the page. Elynth purred happily and closed her eyes, content to let her rider admire her in detail.
About half an hour later Marlaey sat showing her dragon the likeness she'd drawn of her and with a flick of her tail Elynth approved. But there is no colour dear! That was her only complaint thankfully. And with that they both made their way down to the lake, Elynth already beginning to complain about being itchy. There were a few others here before them, but that was ok, they were still early. Marlaey greeted everyone amiably with a smile and and a wave, Elynth carefully padding behind her trying not to trip. The gold nodded to the weyrlingmaster and then to the gathered weyrlings. Now to wait for the others.

Every morning from here on out would be different than those that came before it and it was expressed in only two words. Good Morning! G’off lifted his head from the pillow, one eye open. It was still dark. What was going on? Were they under attack already? He reached instinctively under his pillow to find no weapon there. All is well. I am hungry. You are hungry. Sitting up finally, he wiped the grogginess from his eyes. Oh shards of flaming fall he was ravenous. He almost doubled over in hunger. Sure he had been close to going hungry before but having his dragon stomach linked to his own he now realized he had never before felt true hunger.
Food is it? The thirteen turn old swung his tired legs over the side of the bed. Sleeping in after the events the previous day would have been great but seeing as he was responsible for this giant blue firelizard, he had no choice. Food, food, food, food, food… That’s great. Just keep that up and I’ll be sure to feed you. The sarcasm was completely lost on the upbeat blue and he continued to say the word food from the time G’off got out of bed till the time they walked out of the Barracks. All those people who wanted a dragon had been seriously misinformed. Obviously they lacked sanity and strove to drive their riders crazy as well.
There was something endearing about the Blue though. He had to admit it. Even if he had sworn to hate dragons before, it was hard to do so now. Besides if he sided with the Holdless now, they would kill him on sight. He knew that as well as anyone. Dragonriders were shown no mercy. He had to put his lot in with theirs to survive and was not that the most important lesson he had learned with the Holdless; to survive. While G’off was thinking he was feeding his blue. The call came that they were to be at lessons in one candlemark. When Danuth had finished, G’off had him wait at the Barracks for his return. He needed food as well.
When the candlemark was up, both dragon and rider were present. He wondered what exactly they would learn before the dragons could fly. Couldn’t be too complicated. Seemed to him anyone could ride a dragon nowadays.

K'len smiled when he saw G’off and his blue arrived at the Lake. "Good morning G'off did you sleep well? Did your wake you up as ravenous as my beloved did me?" K'len spoke softly. He still was a bit on the shy side so he didn't raise his voice much. But he felt that he should get to know the others he was going be working with and counting on. What they were in the past really didn't matter cause it was the present and future that they would need to learn to trust and count on each other in the future wing. So the present was a good time to start forming bonds with his classmates.

Stretching slowly and stifling a huge yawn, T’mar was thinking about the wonderful dream he had of him impressing the most perfect of blue dragons ever! Stretching again he smiled as he remembered more of his dream. Twin dragonets he thought, who ever heard of twins being hatched? He was sure he never heard of it happening. Goes to show you what dreams can do for you.
T’marmine, do you really think I’m a dream? I am a twin too, is that bad? Are you not happy being Mine? was the sad sleepy thoughts that entered his brain.
Sitting up so fast his head spun making him dizzy, T’mar all but fell out of bed. He spun around at the sound of the voice thought and noticed a tiny navy blue dragonet watching him closely. “What, it wasn’t a dream?” he all but shouted before clapping his hands over his mouth so he didn’t wake anyone else up.
Jumping out of bed, he did a happy dance in place as quietly as he could before he sat next to his lil dragon and threw his arms around its neck in a reassuring hug. “Oh Peroth, I am so very happy to know you are NOT a dream, so very happy indeed. And I think being a twin is a special thing to be. I wouldn‘t change it if I could.” T’mar spoke out loud forgetting that he could mind speak. Then he remembered they had their first class today. He hurried with his morning routine then tidied up his space.
“Are you hungry my hansom Peroth? We could get you some food and then I could eat before we head down to our first class, would you like that?” he asked as he headed for the door.
Yes T’marmine, I am very hungry. I would like to go eat. You should eat too. Peroth answered as he carefully picked his way across the floor, trying very hard not to trip. He might be small but he was determined not to make a mess out of his first trip outside. Looking over at his twin Peroth, spoke to Danuth making sure both lads heard him loud and clear Danuth, it is time to get up. We have our first lesson today. I am looking forward to a bath. I am getting itchy. Are you not hungry? Peroth asked as he turned his head back around and continued out the door to breakfast and his first lesson with his T‘marmine.
Chuckling a little at what Peroth told his twin, T’mar put his hand on Peroth’s neck as they walked side by side to the feeding area. When he was done, he made sure to clean Peroth up a bit before washing his hands and heading in to breakfast. He didn’t eat too much, he was way to nervous. He didn’t want to get sick from not eating either. So he drank a bit of juice and grabbed a bubbly pie. After putting his dishes up, he grabbed a cup of klah and headed out to join Peroth. They headed for the beach walking slowly so he had time to savor his klah. They were early so he wasn’t going to rush little Peroth, letting him pick his route and his pace. There would be time learn to hurry later.
As they approached the beach, he saw others had arrived before them. Nodding at the Weyrlingmaster, T’mar joined his classmates. Relaxing for the moment until they were to begin. It was going to be a wonderful day.

Z’ten woke up as the other Weyrlings around him all started to get up. Ugggh too early. The young man rolled onto his stomach and poked his head over the side of his bed where Deynzith slept peacefully, though he could already hear her stomach growling. He reached out, running a hand along her back and grinning a little. “Wake up sweetie, we gotta get you fed and go to lessons.” The dragon let out a groan and stretched out like a cat. It’s too early. Don’t they know a lady needs her beauty sleep? She let out a ‘humf’ but did get up when Z’ten got out of bed and got dressed. “Don’t worry, even without all your beauty sleep you’re still the prettiest dragon. And you’ll be even prettier after this lesson. Once we get you all oiled up you’ll shine just like a gold.” That got the dainty green to look a little happier about getting up so early. Z’ten took care of feeding Deynzith and managed to grab himself a quick bite before head headed out to the lake. He wasn’t super early to the lesson like some people were but he did there with some time to spare.

J'red and Naioth
J'red was tossing and turning in his sleep when a soft muzzle nuzzled him awake. J'redMine, I do not want to be late on our first day together... J'red bolted upright, "Naioth? What time is it? Where are we meant to be again? Oh shards shards shards!" Struggling out of bed he dashed to wash himself before quickly escorting his dragon to breakfast. "We can't be late" he kept muttering under his breath.
We won't be mine, don't worry, I woke you with time enough to get ready. "But I should have woken up first!" he exclaimed exasperated. He didn't feel like he was getting off to a very good start at this whole dragonrider business. Wolfing some breakfast into himself as Naioth licked blood from her claws, his mind raced. He hoped they weren't the last to arrive, please Faranth don't let them be last!
After making his green half jog down to the lake they made it just on time. And they weren't the last. Sighing with relief he patted his dragons neck, "Phew." I'm sure we would've made it without rushing too!
P'lel and Revyketh
P'lel was woken well before the appointed time by a small brown dragon jumping on his chest. Lets go P'lel! For every word he jumped, winding his rider almost completely. Coughing, P'lel stryggled to out from under is over enthusiastic brown. Ok ok! We're going we're going! Revyketh sat back onto his haunches and let P'lel roll over and get up to dress. While his rider went off to clean, Revyketh busied himself examining the sleeping bronze Kialio. He snuffled at the little beast who immediately awaoke and screeched in terror! P'lel rushed back into the room, "Is everything ok??", he asked, afraid. But Revyketh just sat wagging his tail and humming happily as Kialio flew anger circles above him. P'lel sighed. "Lets get you both fed," he said wearily.
After they'd all eaten P'lel made his way down to the lake, enjoying the morning as they went. Revyketh was only to happy to trot along ahead and Kialio sat on P'lel's shoulder grumbling to himself. They reached the group with time to spare, greeting the other weyrlings amiably. P'lel was excited to be having his first lesson, even though it was all still quite surreal. Rev was just happy at the thought of feeling less itchy!

Sorlen had woken up with the other boys but while they all rushed about like whrries with their heads cut off, he took his sweet time. Why did he care if he was late? What was the worst they could do to him? Kick him out of the Weyr? Take his dragon away? Make the Shield escort you everywhere you go? The smug look that had been on Sorlen’s face fell off and he shot Fenrith a dirty look. The blue dragon was comfortably curled up on the floor, half dozing and ignoring any looks he received. “Shards, I don’t need those crazy, psychotic men and women following me around every time I need to take a leak…” Now that his original plans for just laying around and not doing anything were spoiled, Sorlen got up and took his time getting dressed as the rest of the boys were leaving the barracks. He washed up a bit, using cold water to help wake himself up a bit. Early mornings he could deal with. Early mornings with little sleep weren’t too bad either. The addition of the little nagging voice in his mind and everyone else in the Weyr was what was starting to get to the young Holdless man. He was trapped inside; something he was wasn’t use to and was uncomfortable with. Enough with the thinking and preening. Food. Now. Sorlen slowly looked over at his dragon, both of them eyeing each other as they figured out who was going to be more stubborn. Fenrith won when he let out a low growl and snapped his jaws. Sorlen decided that he wasn’t in the mood for the blue to nip at him again and let out an annoyed huff before leaving the barracks. Feeding Fenrith was done just as slowly as getting dressed. If he was late to the lesson, well it wasn’t his fault he didn’t know this place like the back of his hand like everyone else did. Oh he could easily find his way back to the cells where him and Geoff had been kept before the hatching but he had no interest in returning there. Sorlen enjoyed a cup of klah as the blue ate, swatting at the dragon every time he would try to scratch at himself. If the stupid lizard got to boss him around, he would do the same to it. Finally the blue had eaten his fill of meat and they headed out to the lake. We’re late you know. Who cares? Neither of us wants to listen to some old guy tell us what to do. And if you care that much, we can just say that we got lost.Eira had shown up first, with almost an hour before the lesson actually started. Of course he wasn’t going to send the girl away, it was some what refreshing to see someone there so early. He had pointed to the oil pots that were sitting out and told her to go find a spot near one while finished his breakfast. He did the same to everyone else as they started to show up, watching as each spot filled up. The sun had just peeked up over the eastern horizon when Toroth informed him that their only missing weyrling had just left the Weyr and was making his way to them. U’ski frowned a bit, of course it had to be one of the Holdless kids who was late. The Weyrling Master hadn’t planned on being too hard on the new weyrlings today; they had all had a long night with little sleep and none of them would know how long it would take to get their dragons ready in the morning. When S’len finally joined them, U’ski directed him to the last open oil pot before turning his attention to the whole class and clearing his throat loud enough to get their attention and to stop any side conversations they had been having. “Good morning Weyrlings. I know not all of you are morning people but you had better get use to it. After today’s lesson I expect all of you to show up to lessons with your dragon fed, bathed and oiled. You’ll all be feeding, washing and oiling your dragons multiple time a day, especially during these first months. Any of you who might have been treating your dragon like a lap dog last night, I suggest you stop that right now. They’re going to grow, and grow fast. They’ll be able to crush you pretty soon.” U’ski slowly walked between the weyrlings and dragons as he spoke, getting the chance to see the dragons a little better as the sun rose. “Now, everyone into the lake. You won’t need to go very far in since the dragons are small but as they get bigger you’ll probably need to go farther in. If you don’t know how to swim, I suggest you learn fast.” U’ski waited as everyone got into the cold waters of the lake. His dark blue drake carefully walked between the oil pots to stand at the shore of the lake where everyone could see him as U’ski started to demonstrate the proper way to wash a dragon. The Weyrling Master did it a couple times, making sure that everyone could see him. Then he started walking around, watching as the weyrlings washed their own dragons. “If you have questions or need help, just let me or Toroth know.”

There was something in what the man was saying, the dragons would not be small and cute forever. One day they would be large and fully capable of fighting thread as well as picking off herdbeasts from the people who helped support the Weyr. Maybe the other dragonriders felt they were entitled to whatever they wanted because they were dragonriders. He did not feel this was a particularly good thing. Danuth reassured his rider that people can learn and change. Not everyone would abuse the privileges of being a dragonrider. They certainly would not.
As U’ski instructed, the pair walked down to the shore of the lake. G’off waded in to about his waist, which for the taller people in the class would not be as deep. He was not sure he felt comfortable swimming with a bunch of people who would sooner drown him than allow him to be a dragonrider. Still, this was about Danuth’s care. He like many others was coming to the realization they were no longer the central focus of their own lives. The only creatures they cared more about than themselves at this moment in time were their dragons.
G’off was neither upset nor extremely happy about this. He was confused and conflicted about his emotions concerning the blue dragon. And unlike most people he had the added benefit or detriment of having another dragon directly linked to his thoughts though Petroth was much quieter than Danuth most of the time. Talking to people would not help because no one here was going through this in the same way he was. Outwardly S’len hated his dragon but G’off could not bring himself to openly dislike a creature like Danuth who was much like himself in many more ways than he even cared to admit.
The dragon had waded in to about where his mid-section was. There they watched to see what other people were doing. G’off had no idea how one scrubbed a dragon. However Danuth seemed only to be concerned with the fact that the water was cold and could he please hurry along. Taking a scrubber and some sweet sand he began to scrub the dragon’s hide. I do not think there is a wrong way to scrub. As long as you don’t miss a spot.

T'mar listened with apt attention he didn't want to miss a thing when it came to washing his dragonet. He also watched the demonstration carefully a couple of times before he felt confident enough to give it a try. It didn't seem to him that there was a wrong way to scrub, scrubbing was scrubbing. Maybe the care came when one applied the oil to hide. Either way, he couldn't put off getting in the cold water any longer. Peroth was practically dancing in excitement. I itch
He noticed that no one was near G'off and Danuth. Remembering his promise to himself to try to make friends, T'mar waded in next to the holdless lad turned dragon rider. Peroth stumbled a bit when he entered the water, he righted himself with some trouble. Are you ok Peroth he asked trying not to laugh. I am fine Mine, it was not what I thought water would feel like to walk in, its not as easy as it looks came the answer as he shook himself hard sending water flying in all directions.
Still laughing, T'mar grabbed some sweetsand and started washing the shinning navy blue hide taking care to not miss anything. Stretch your wing out please Peroth He asked as he started washing the delicate membrane that would one day hold them aloft in the sky.
T'mar decided to try talking to G'off. He really hoped he and the younger lad could become friends and he felt ashamed for his first reaction to G'off speaking to him at introductions. "Good morning G'off and to you too Danuth" T'mar said with a slight bow to the pair. "What is it the riders say? Oh ya, 'My duty to you G'off and your blue Danuth' I think thats right" he added with a smile as he turned his attention to the small claw on the outer edge of the wing. Peroth hummed in pleasure as he worked making T'mar keep the smile on his face. This water is hard to walk in, does this not feel good Danuth? I like this washing Peroth swiveled his head around to address his twin as he stretched his other wing out. Mine, you missed a spot closer to the tip pulling his wing in closer to make it easier for His to reach. Yes indeed, this washing was a good thing it felt sooooo good.
Turning a bit more to his left, T'mar noticed K'len and his green Rhyeseth. "Good morning to you T'mar and Rhyeseth. I think I would enjoy this a bit more if the water wasn't quite so cold, how about you?" he asked with his teeth starting to chatter. "I think I'm starting to turn Peroth's color" he added laughing as he finished a particular itchy spot on the blues tail.
"Rinse off a bit would you, I'm really starting to get cold, I got most of the sweetsand off already, I just want to make sure I didn't miss any" he said patting Peroth on the neck. The little blue squatted down in the water up to his head and walked in a tight circle around T'mar. Noticing that this was much easier then walking, the little navy blue dragonet discovered he could 'fly' through the water. He ducked his head under to give it a vigorus shake that promptly took all the sweetsand out of hidden spots. Coming back up he sprayed T'mar with water completly soaking any dry place he might have had left. Laughing as water sprayed everywhere, the pair headed back up on the beach for the next set of instructions. He hoped it would be soon he was freezing.

Eira was glad that she was not turned away for show up so early, smiling lightly she lead Siath over to an oil pot near the very end. While they waited, Eira was scratching Siath's hide for her. ”Will bathing happen soon, my Eira?” The dragonet asked as Eira scratched. ”Soon Siath, everyone needs to get here first.” The young woman told her gently.
She was right, not too long after she arrived, the other weyrlings and dragonets were starting to come down to the lake. ”Bath time will be soon Siath.” Eira whispered lightly as the green crooned when she was scratched in just the right spot. It made the girl chuckle lightly as she turned to look at the other weyrlings that arrived, one being Marlaey who waved to everyone in greeting. Eira nodded back to her before turning back to Siath to continue scratching. They were very early but, at least others had decided to come early as well so it was not just her and U'ski for too long. The two holdless boy's being there made her a little uncomfortable but at the very least she was not close to them.
The actual lesson finally started and before Eira waded into the lake, she slipped off her shoes and rolled up her dress so it did not get too wet. “Let's go Siath.” She told her softly and lead the green into the cold water. For a moment, she paused and Eira raised a brow at her. “It's only water Siath, it's not going to hurt you...” ”I know this, it just feels odd...” The green told her. Eira shook her head slightly and waited for the green to walk a little further in. The did not need to walk in far thankfully and Eira's dress was not getting wet at all. As long as no one, including Siath, splashed her it meant she didn't need to worry too much.
Watching U'ski for a moment she turned and started scrubbing away at Siath's hide. “Not being too rough am I?” ”No! It feels good! I think I'll enjoy washings if they're all like this!” The dragon replied cheerfully. Eira chuckled, shaking her head as she made sure she got every spot. Siath had stretched her wings out so Eira could carefully wash them too. Once she was done, Eira looked at her green with a small smile on her face. “Dunk under the water a little to rinse off, hold your breath too.” Siath did as told even shaking slightly to help loosen any sand. Once she was done, she popped her head back up and Eira did a double check to make sure there was no sand left. “Alright then, lets get you back to the oiling pot.” Slowly walking out of the lake, Siath was half shaking some water off of her.
Of course because of this she got Eira wet and the cold water really hit her then. Shivering Eira shot a glare at Siath who let out a small rumble. ”I'm sorry my Eira.” “It's okay Siath, just, try to warn me a little?” Eira told her before patting the dragons wet neck as the stood by their oil pot. Really, the cold water did not phase her too much but, sudden drops like that was still unexpected and sent shivers up her spine.
