Eira had just came back with the little feline not that long ago. Of course, she was still trying to figure out a name for the little creature. Hmming she groaned as she plopped her head against Siath. ”Having that hard of a time naming him?' The young dragon asked curiously as she watched the little creature play with her lifemates hands. “Very.” Eira replied as she plucked a long blade of grass and used that as a cat toy of sorts. The little creature scooted before pouncing, rolling, and then promptly crashing into Siath who let out a soft rumble. Of course the rumble scared the cat for a moment and a hiss left the tiny thing before hiding behind one of Eira's legs.
”Silly feline.” Siath mentioned and Eira granted her neck to look up at her green. “He's only a baby, not all baby creatures grow quickly you know.” ”Oh I know my Eira, but he best get used to we dragons if he wants to survive being a pet to a weyrling!” “Either way, I hope he'll be a good little guy. I don't like the idea of having to give him to someone else.” ”I'm sure he'll be fine. Don't worry.” Smiling, Eira went back to thinking of a name, then it hit her. “Joris..what do you think of Joris?” She asked curious. ”I think it fits him.” Siath replied as she rested her head slightly on the grass, watching the feline grow tired and curl up on her lifemates lap. ”He trusts you my Eira.” “You really think so?” ”I can tell, he knows he'll be safe with you and well cared for.”
Smiling, Eira glanced at her dragonet. “Or are you saying that just because you feel that way?” ”Maybe.” Siath crooned before Eira reached over and patted Siath's neck. “I love you, Siath.” She said softly and Siath nodded her head slightly. ”I know, I love you too my Eira.” Eira couldn't help the amount she was smiling as she rubbed Siath's neck and with her other hand scratching Joris behind his ear. “Hopefully we'll keep having some moments of quiet like this.” ”So do I, it's quieter here than the Weyr. I'm beginning to understand why you barely sleep there.” Eira didn't really know how to reply to that and instead chuckle at just how much Siath was right.

S’nuo rubbed the back of his neck as he walked down the steps from the Weyrleader’s Weyr. His hair was currently cropped close to his head, leaving only coarse stubble there that scratched the palm of his hand as much as his hand was scratching the back of his neck. Shard’s, this had been a turn of events that he had not expected. Carrying his riding harness with him as he slowly made his way back across the bowl, the former search rider paused as he seen one of the new green weyrlings sitting in the grass outside of the Weyrling Barracks.
Realizing his new rank would require him to know which of the candidates had impressed to better know which are left, he changed his direction toward the pair. Shards and Shells, he wasn’t even sure if there was a list or anything to get started with. All of this on top of his normal duties as a wing rider? At least he was relieved of searchriding he supposed.
Despite his worry, S’nuo had always been a master of names and faces. Good enough to be considered ridiculous about it and maybe even a little obsessive compulsive. Recognizing the young lady sitting there as one he had searched himself, the tall man gave her an award winning smile. “Good Morning, Eira. I see Malith was not wrong in searching you. Congratulations on your little one.”

Siath looked up hearing S'nuo come over, but, she noticed Eira had noticed herself. Carefully setting the little kitten down carefully, it let out a 'meow' before curling up into a tight ball while his owner stood up to her feet. “Good morning to you too S'nuo.” She replied lightly. “And thank you, Siath keeps mentioning she chosen well.” Siath didn't really want to talk but, she had to mention it. ”It's true. I did, my Eira takes good care of me without being told to.” She spoke quietly to S'nuo, it was almost a smaller tone than one she would use speaking just to Eira. A soft blush hit Eira's cheeks as she smoothed out her dress a little.
“Really, I always wondered if Malith was right in searching me. I suppose we could just call me a late bloomer.” After all, it had been three almost four turns ago that the blue had searched her. Biting her lip for a moment or two she soon let herself smile. “Then again, how many has Malith searched became dragonriders? He's a very good search dragon.” Eira voiced out before looking down at the sleeping kitten who was so sound asleep he was making small noises. “Siath isn't the only one who chose me either, Joris did too, in his own way.” She mentioned lightly before looking back up at S'nuo.
“So tell me, how are you today?” She asked slowly. In a way she felt like she needed to ask. Just small talk before he left to practice drills or whatever he had planned.

Hearing the little green speak to him, S’nuo’s smile turned toward the delicate little green. It was not often he had the pleasure of speaking to another’s dragon, even less so since he had impressed. It seemed that dragons, while willing to talk to children were less so inclined if it meant they might invade another dragon’s claim. Of course, he knew Malith would never see it that way, his blue had a big heart.
“Why I am glad to hear that little Siath.” Hearing the mention of Joris, S’nuo let his eyes fall on the tunnelcat before raising an eyebrow. “Oh, be careful with that little guy. While Siath might understand your attachment to the little fuzzball I can’t promise the same for the other weyrlings. They might think him as a way to practice their hunting.” The tone of his voice was one that had a mixture of seriousness as well as dismay. He had, in his many turns as a weyrling, seen a good number of pets eaten out of confusion. Especially by bronzes.
As she stood and asked him how his day was out of politeness, S’nuo returned his attention to the young lady before him. “Ah… Well my health is good. I’m afraid my mind is a little distracted, I do apologize for that.”

Siath bowed her head slightly before keeping silent and letting her weyrling doing all the talking. Eira nodded her head slightly. “I'll make sure he stays safe. Would hate for him to be eaten.” She replied, she had heard some of the stories herself. Granted she did believe the tall tale of 'Dragons eating parents' from B'ren as a child. This was far different and she was hearing it from someone who she did not see joking around about it.
Nodding her head as S'nuo mentioned that his health was good but his mind was a little distracted, she frowned slightly. “Hope it is nothing serious. Well, outside of your health that is seeing as you said you were alright there. Unless you're forgetting I did train as a healer for a long time so I like to think I can tell when people are ill.” Eira replied with a small smile. Honestly, she hoped her healing skills would help her learn dragon healing in turn. It would be good for Siath to have a rider that could take good care of her.
Eira had seen dragons who weren't well cared for at first during short visits to the weyr as a child. She always thought they looked in pain and she didn't understand how some could let their dragons hide go unwashed or un-oiled. Eira had never wanted to be a dragonrider like some, and even she knew that a dragon took plenty of care which is what Siath was getting. The young dragon had already ate one of her meals, had a wash, and was oiled all within two candle marks. “Really it is up to you if you do not want to share but, maybe talking about what is troubling you will help a little?” Granted she meant a little more talk outside of Malith. As much as the dragons were lifemates, sometimes they did need to talk to people didn't they?

Hearing her honest and kindhearted offer to listen to what was on his mind, S’nuo let a large hand pat her shoulder gently. Even now he was surprised at her height, for a woman she was very tall. She held the height well though, and her features will filling out leaving no mistake that she was a woman. Even so, she was a Weyrling and a woman he had searched himself. That left him appreciating her as a young thing rather than a peer.
“That is kind of you Eira. I should be okay though. Are you still studying healing?” Rumors had turned to truth, signs of threadfall had been spotted and reported. While the Weyr had not yet risen to fight it, he would not be surprised if he heard they would be rising soon. Tensions were growing and he had a feeling the Dragonhealers would soon be in need of spare hands.
Even as he made polite conversation with her, he was going through names and lists in his head. Shards – he had to move too. Really? This was going to be ridiculous, but he couldn’t deny the fact that the candidates needed easy access to him. Even as he stood there in relaxed company with the new Weyrling, a wet blue padded up the Weyrbowl in their direction. While the blue was little in comparision to grown dragons, it still dwarfed the young queen laying in the grass.
Who are we talking to? Is that little Eira? I knew she’d impress.

Siath shifted a bit as S'nuo patted her lifemates shoulder but, Eira gave the young green a slight glance. ”It's alright Siath, I trust him. He's a good man.” She thought to her dragonet gently. ”If you're sure...” The green replied simply wanting to protect her rider from anyone or anything that could harm her.
As S'nuo asked if she was still healing she nodded slightly. “Yes and no really. Don't have much time to but, I've already started looking into dragon healing and it's a lot of things I already knew actually.” She mentioned lightly, her brain worked for things that were of the healing sorts. Granted, the young woman did come from a family of healers. Honestly, she hope that Thread would not start falling too soon. If it did, seeing as Siath was too young, Eira would more than likely help in the healing department if the older riders did in fact risen to fight it.
As Malith walked up, Siath politely greeted him and Eira smiled at the older blue. “You know..I remember when I was a young girl being terrified of dragons...” She mentioned to S'nuo lightly, she was sure he remembered that little incident with B'ren's tall tales of dragons eating parents. A small laugh left her as she shook her head. “I screamed so loud I think I nearly gave my poor Aunt Emera a heart attack!” Of course this was way back when she very much a child and being a holdgirl did not really know any better. Funny how things change. That child was now a young woman who was certainly not a little girl now.

Good Morning little Siath. Malith responded to the little green that nearly blended in with the grass. Laying down right where he stood, he studied the two riders for a moment before turning back to the green and laying his head down near her so he’d be closer to her level as she lay in the grass. You are looking lovely this morning. Has your rider had a chance to oil you yet?
Opening his mouth to reply to Eira, he watched his dragon move out of the corner of his eye to see him lay down with is head near the green. Closing his mouth again, S’nuo fought a laugh. “Don’t you think she’s a little young to be flirting with, Malith?” Letting the laugh finally escape, he shook his head and turned back to Eira. “I remember that. You believed they ate people. I still don’t know how B’ren got that idea into your head. Hopefully Siath won’t be eating you any time soon.”

Siath looked at the blue cautiously as he laid down where he was closer to her level. Eira's eyebrow raised at the two and had to cover her mouth to stop herself from laughing at loud seeing as Siath was kind enough to share what was said. Siath was still looking at Malith before slowly she crawled backwards to be further away from him. ”Why thank you. And she has oiled me, less than a candlemark ago.” The young green replied slowly.
The cat on the other hand poked his head up and let out a clearly annoyed meow. Eira couldn't contain her laughter there at all and it wounded up coming out as a snort as the cat got up and moved closer to the dragon and curling back up next to her. “Cradle robber.” She commented in a very teasing manner to the Blue before grinning up at S'nuo. There was a very slight blush on her cheeks naturally from snorting out the laugh. “I don't know how but, I was only a little girl, not much older than four or five turns.” She mentioned lightly before chuckling herself. “I hope so too. Would hate to find out he really telling the truth after all these years and that I should of ran when I still had the chance to.” Eira told him with a small smile.

Malith brought his head up off the grass and turned swirling green eyes toward his rider, a sign of distress. I think I scared her… I’ve never scared anyone. What do I do? Finding himself highly amused, he patted his dragons nose. “You probably did scare her, your bigger than her. Why don’t you sit quite for a moment? We’ve got moving to do soon anyways.”
Turning an apologetic face toward Eira, he gave her a shrug. “Sorry, he’s such a dimglow sometimes.” Hearing her comment toward his blue he laughed. “Malith say’s he won’t steal any cradles, he has no use of them. I’ll have to explain that one to him later.”
S’nuo could not mention how glad he was to find that the tall woman had a good sense of humor as she laughed with him. Running a hand over the stubble upon his head once more, he finally waved it off toward his weyr. “We should probably get going and I wouldn’t want to keep you from your lessons. You have U’ski as your master, right?”

Siath was just watching him, considering she just didn't know what to think of him yet. The young dragon was already living up to her 'name' that came from what they called her egg. Eira had to once more cover her mouth a little as S'nuo spoke. “She's just rather...Shy more or less.” Eira spoke as it was possibly the best way to put it for now. She felt Siath was already unlike many of her green sisters so to speak.
“It's alright it really is.” Eira replied as she smiled up at him. Honestly she felt like he did not exactly need to apologize for much of anything at the moment. Siath wasn't distress or anything, the green was just quiet and didn't like being too close to others she did not know well. In fact the green was looking at Malith like he had lost his marbles or something.
As the cradle robbing was brought up, Eira laughed and laughed heartily. “Poor Malith, we're just picking on him aren't we?” She asked curiously. First she called him a cradle robber, which he was almost acting like such, not he was getting called a dimglow by his own rider!
A small frown flicked across her lips for a very brief moment before nodding. “U'ski is, we'll probably be early to them again though.” She replied lightly. “Siath and I have been making it a habit of getting there early. Sometimes it's just hard to judge how quickly she eats so it never takes up much time.” That much was true, she still remembered the first lesson. The pair had been there almost a full candlemark early so she was trying to time it so they would be early but not so early they would have to wait for the others.

“Malith is use to it. I don’t think it even phases him.” It was a loving swat to the muzzle he landed again before nodding at Eira. “Getting there early is a great habit to get into, make sure it’s one you keep. U’ski will take note of that as will the wingleaders. They watch the weyrling class more than you would think.”
Adjusting the riding straps he had been holding onto, he finally gave her a nod. “Well, I’m afraid I’ve got reassigned, so I’ve not some moving to do Eira. Enjoy your free time, the more Siath grows the less of it you will have.” Giving the young woman a wink, he motioned for Malith to lead the way. They had several things to do that day and thankfully A’lez was having no more drills today in light of it. Not only did they have to move his personal weyr and belongings, but they would need to see what’s in the candidate master’s office as well. Oh Bother.

”It's good though, he's always been rather mellow hasn't he?” At least he has from her point of view and all the turns she known the blue and the rider. Watching him lovingly swat the muzzle of Malith, she smiled lightly before nodding at his telling her that getting to the lessons was a great habit to get into. “Well, then it's a habit that has already been kept. Better to be a little early than running around like a chicken with it's head cut off because you're rushing to get to where you need to go.” She replied lightly. Sure, there was betweening but not only did she and Siath not know how but there were many instances where you couldn't simply between and needed to walk.
Frowning for a very brief moment, Eira nodded slightly. That was understandable. “Take care then S'nuo, I hope moving will go easily for you then. I'll be sure to enjoy whatever free time I have as well.” She mentioned lightly and nodded to Malith. ”Goodbye.” Siath mentioned lightly to the older blue. The young dragonet still did not know what to think of the pair but, if Eira trusted them both she would have to find a way to trust them too.
While they walked off, Eira turned back to Siath and sat down close to her dragonet and pulled Joris onto her lap. “We'll have to watch out for the little guy, make sure none of your brothers or sisters eat him.” She voiced quietly, Siath rumbled softly. ”I'm sure they'll be fine. Besides, how many of their weyrlings have won a feline themselves?” She asked curiously. “Probably right about that. Hopefully it means Joris will be okay then.” Eira replied quietly as she lightly looked at one of Siath's wings, simply studying it while she leaned up against the dragonet.
