What would you like to be called OOC? Parallel
Recruited by: n/a
Email: n/a
Character Info:
Name: P'lel (formally Parallel)
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Rank: Weyrling
Family:
Partha - Mother - Weaver
Allel - Father - Fire Lizard Breeder
Appearance:
Standing at a pretty average height for a man his age, just hitting 6ft, Parallel's slim but well built frame can go deceptively unnoticed. His prowling gait allows him to move easily among his peers without drawing much attention to himself. His body is well designed for hunting, he is very quiet on foot and very dexterous with his movements. He spent his youth building up his stamina and training himself to use his body to it's fullest potential, but he has never built up any muscle just for show.
Sallow skin runs along his toned physique darkening at the nape of his neck and very slightly along his forearms from hours of travelling outside in the sun. His short, but scruffy hair is several tones of brown, making it seem messier than it actually is. Though always clean, he has never seen any real reason to style it in any particular fashion. It merely sits where it has dried. However he does make a point of cutting it often so that it doesn't get out of hand and irritating to take care of.
Dark rimmed yellow green eyes stare out at the world, purposefully examining everything and everyone in it. He has a quiet observant demeanor and can be quite calculating at times.
His angular jawline is usually sprinkled with a fair amount of stubble, though never enough to do more than make his face prickly to the touch.
His clothes are always practical. They are in tune with whatever climate his current home experiences. They are generally dark colours, often natural and earthy tones for easy camoflage. Usually accompanied by his pack and knife, Parallel is prepared for as many survival situations he can.
Personality:
Parallel has somewhat of a a nervous disposition, he is almost always on guard and ever watchful. Though this can be for threats it can also just be for useful knowledge. He likes to know what's going on and regularly uses his time to find out. If he's caught it can lead to some unfortunate accusations, but he is generally quite adept when it comes to stealth.
He is not an attention seeker, he blends with the background purposely. He has a stealthy nature and, cautious in his decisions, he weighs up the options before making a choice. But he can be decisive when under pressure, keeping a calm air about himself he uses his experience and knowledge to make what he believes to be the right decision at the time.
To those he cares about he can seem a little too cautious and over protective, but he really does mean well. His instinct is to guard those he loves and fight to protect them. Being a hunter those attitudes were strengthened as he helped provide for his family and keep an eye out for any danger.
A very intelligent character Parallel can sometimes come off as quite aloof. This is predominantly a defense mechanism. He has a habit of clinging to what, or rather who, he knows and being skeptical about everyone else. Once you get past his out barrier he becomes a much warmer person. But in truth nothing will ever make him a great speaker.
He pursues what interests him, he is driven by his own passions. With every new interest he wants to excel and command it in his own right, so he often spends much of his time gathering information and pensively dissecting his own reactions to it.
As he is quite an introverted person he can be very secretive. Sharing with others has never come naturally to him which makes him slightly defensive with his thoughts and possessions. When you do get him talking however, he tends to be quite forthright. His doesn't abide too much waffle, if something has to be said he'll generally just say it.
At this stage in his life he wants to explore something completely new and foreign to his own mind.
Hobbies/Skills:
~Skilled with a bow and arrow
~Good knife skills too
~Excellent hunter
~Very good at observation, gathering details
~Does his research, regularly (it's almost like a pastime!)
Pets:
Fire Lizard
Name Kialio (Kee-AH-leeoh)
Color: Bronze
Age: 1 Turn
Description:
Kialio is a small bronze, but he doesn't seem to know that. His hide is a typical bronzey colour with lighter tones on his wing sails and slightly darker along his spine. On his back left leg he has a faintly darker sock as well.
Personality:
Kialio is a very flighty little bronze. Generally he is pretty shy, but whenever a green appears to be in the vicinity he becomes unbelievably boisterous and flirty! He is nervous around golds, but the greens he feels like he can handle. When they're near he can be seen showing off to them, very blatantly.
When he gets spooked, which happens quite a bit, he usually goes to the place he feels most secure: Parallel's head. His head is his favourite safety vantage point, from here he can scout out potentially threats and/or mates. And if he's not feeling up to it, Par's hair is a very soft cushion.

Name Rollitum (Pronounced Roll-y-tum)

Description
Personality
History:
Parallel was part of the traders community. He was born and reared in the South alongside the weyr and it's inhabitants. His mother and father's family had moved to the south with the riders a long time ago and with them they had prospered. His father, Allel, was a valued Fire Lizard Breeder, of which Parallel was very proud. Being an only child, it was almost expected of him to continue his father's craft, but the lure of becoming a dragon rider was great in him from a very young age.
Parallel was very comfortable around fire lizards, the main source of income for his family. He spent his childhood going out with his father and searching the beaches for flit eggs and playing with his father's gold Solace and his brown Emmet. From these trips he learned the basic skills of tracking and how to locate flit nests. He often found green nests abandoned, but the traders were rarely interested in those. They usually only took them for smaller family members as gifts. And how desperately Par wanted one of his own,. But Allel was careful to keep business and family separate. It was his job to provide first and in the early years he couldn't afford to let Par take an egg, even if it was laid by a green. He used every egg they found to either earn money or to gain favour within the community.
So as he grew older Parallel had sought other ways to keep himself amused and help support his parents. He began learning the skills required to be a hunter and surrounding himself with those who had already had experience. Sooner than he, or anyone else, had expected, he became very proficient at his craft. He was very good at tracking and finding the prey, but it did take a number of years before he mastered the art of killing it without drawing the attention of other wild creatures, like the felines.
Parallel was very wary around the great felines. Whenever he thought there was one near he felt a sudden rush of adrenaline that made him want to flee, but on the same level want to fight them. He had always tried to master his fear, and he saw everything as a challenge. These felines were something to be feared, yes, but not something to bow down to. For this sort of reasoning many of his friends branded him delusional.
After his father had built up a successful fair himself and began breeding them properly the day finally came when he brought his son over to a hatching clutch and offered him an egg. Parallel was always fascinated by the clutches of eggs, but he usually stayed far enough away out of respect for his father's business. But when Allel guided him to the clutch his heart began to race. His mother, Partha, had stopped her weaving to watch as Parallel's eyes widened even further when his father produced the large egg to honour his becoming a true Hunter and handed it to him. Overcome with emotion Parallel had held the egg while it hatched and been rewarded with a smallish bronze. Naming him Kialio, from that day forth they were inseparable.
At the age of twenty Parallel's dream had a chance to come true. A searchdragon appeared in the trading community and deftly acquired him as a candidate. So he and Kialio said their goodbyes to his parents, with promises of news of the hatching. Quietly and nervously Parallel entered the Weyr.

Color Preference Whichever you think would suit him best.
Dragon Information
Name: Revyketh (Rev-i-keth)
Age: 2 Turn, Turn 1262
Color: Brown
Appearance:
Pixel by the wonderful Savanna
Revyketh is a small dragonet, especially for his color seeming more the size of a large blue. He is probably not the smallest brown at the Weyr but close to it. At full length he is expected to be about, 31.1 meters in length. The brown has a long, lithe build rather than stocky which actually makes him seem smaller from a distance than he is. He is built more for agility and speed than most browns and may have an easier time catching greens because of it. Unfortunately he may also have a hard time lasting an entire Fall.
He has an interesting hide. The base color is a fawn brown with dark brown striations throughout his body. The best comparison to this coloration would be brindle in dogs. His claws are black and fairly dull to the eye if one would even notice them when looking at the dragon. Revyketh tends to carry his head high in all situations.
Personality:
A driven, motivated dragon, Revyketh is one who will see all things through to the finish. He can accomplish great things if he wishes, despite his smaller size. The brown has an enthusiasm for life that is not matched by his rider. He can get a bit carried away with his positive, optimistic air. Everything should work out for him, because it can. That’s how he sees things in life. The dragon is very outspoken and will be the first to argue his point especially with his rider when he believes he is in the right and when he probably isn’t. He does not like being wrong.
Revyketh is a restless dragon when kept cooped up for too long. He would be a horrible candidate for ground rest should he ever be injured. He’d be less likely to sun all day when he could be out exploring the world around him. Revyketh is an adventurer. Always up to try new things and go to places he is never been before. He has an independent nature as well. He feels no need to be around the other dragons and can make decisions about life without the input of his rider.
History:

Hatching Post
As the green Impressed to Keylen, another egg had Hatched and was soon drawing a lot of attention. The small dragonet emerged from the Wise Adventurer Egg was a fawn colored brown with dark striations like brindle in canines. He was careful of where he stepped although eager to start his new life. Somehow he managed to pace himself, though more than once he nearly fell because he was overly ambitious to where he was going. The brown, unlike many of the others took no time at all in finding the one who was meant for him. He approached the boys as expected and made a bee line for one particular young man in particular. The brown haired youth was soon bespoken as the brown nudged his shoulder gently. P’lel mine, can we eat now? Revyketh is famished.
