If looks determined the color of dragon you rode, many people would be complaining loudly that S’nuo was not on Bronze. Instead this Bluerider is quite happy to disappoint any lowercavern women looking to rise above their rank. Standing a very solid 6’2”, S’nuo more than fills out his height with 210 lbs of toned muscle. What can he say, physical training has always worked wonders to clear his mind and raise his mood – why skip it?
While his skin will pale during the winter months, it is quick to tan beneath the summer sun. Rarely will he get a sunburn, but when he does it is generally on the top of his head after deciding he is done with his brown hair for that turn. This to generally happens in the summer months as he is looking to cool himself.
As a Bluerider who came from a family of dragonriders, S’nuo has lived a fairly easy life up to now. Because of this, he holds only one scar on the back of his head. Only an inch long it hides easily in his hair from a fall he took as a child. Otherwise, his skin is blemish free. Between that and his hazel eyes that will shift between being more brown and being more green depending on the sunlight, there are few who mind laying eyes upon him.
Personality:
S’nuo understands that there is a time to play and have fun. He also understand that there is a time for focus, determination and hard work. Because of his ability to recognize the difference, S’nuo excelled through his own Weyrlinghood and has impressed his Wingleader and second’s with his simple ability to get tasks done and done efficiently. Even with his work ethic, you can’t say the man is a work-aholic. Because at the end of the day, this man may work hard but he plays harder.
Organized is one word nearly everyone will use to describe S’nuo. While many riders hold a messy Weyr, too tired after a day of drills and chores to tidy up, S’nuo’s Weyr never has a piece out of place. Bed made before he leaves for breakfast each morning and even dirty clothes folded into a neat pile in the corner to be washed, he has put several women to shame with his cleanliness and organizational skills.
While a clean room is a sign of an organized mind, his knack with names and faces only further proves his attention to detail. S’nuo is quick when it comes to matching names and faces, even if it is from second hand information. Many times introductions are not needed as he introduces himself and already has your name on his lips. Some claim his dragon helps him to cheat, but nobody has been able to prove this as of yet.
When it comes to his family, it is not uncommon to see the man tackled by a mob of children. He is great with his nieces and nephews and while he has not yet settled down for himself, there are times he wishes to have a child to call his own. Until then, however, he gives his attention to the youngest three members of his family.
Hobbies/Skills: A knack with names and faces, S’nuo will often recognize you before introductions are even made. Attention to detail, this searchrider rarely misses anything, especially if the room is busy. Organized and reliable, few were surprised when S’nuo was asked to step up to Candidate Master.
Pets: None, though he has purchased a tunnelcat for his sister’s two children, it resides in their home, not in his.
History:
Born the third son of a bluerider, S’nuo was originally named Sinnuo. Unlike many of the children of the Weyr, little Sinnuo had the opportunity to grow up in a stable and solid family. His father was loyal to his mother and vice versa. The result was four siblings who, while they were often babysat within the Creche, were able to come home each night to their father’s weyr. Family bonds were built strong from an early age.
Taking lessons from the WeyrHarper, Sinnuo and his siblings learned their letters and numbers well. Chores were done in timely fashion so they might still have time to play at the end of the day. While their mother was stern, she was also very patient with them. Teaching them to keep things clean, they found the neater they kept their quarters, the faster they were able to run outside with their toys.
V’tin was the first of the four children to impress, impressing to a handsome blue. The family was proud and dreams of also becoming riders gripped the rest of the children stronger than ever. Their games of ball soon became games of fighting thread and flight. When the next clutch came, several turns later, the younger two boys were both proud to stand and to the happiness of the parents, both impressed.
Becoming bluerider S’nuo of blue Malith, S’nuo found his world changed from one of chores and games to one of real work. He learned quickly that physical health was very important as a dragonrider, and took pains to make a workout and healthy eating part of his daily routine. Whenever possible, he finds someone who needs the extra encouragement and attempts to get them to work out with him. After all, the wing is as strong as their weakest link – the same goes for the entire Weyr.
Upon graduating, S’nuo found himself untapped into a wing. Instead, he remained within the Weyrling Wing as his age at the time was only 14 turns. Two turns of helping the Weyrling Master as an assistant and messenger for the Weyr, the blue rider had a lot of time to learn class structure and gain a larger understanding of the way the Weyr was run. Helping his Master with lessons and records, S’nuo only strengthen his own organizational skills.
It was with the next Weyrling Class that he was finally able to join a wing and he was proud to be placed in Illume Wing. Turns passed and while it took some time to get use to the routine of a Wingrider instead of a Weyrling, he managed it easily enough. This was when S’nuo began shadowing another Searchrider to learn the trade. Malith caught on quickly and the pair practiced searching for the upcoming hatchings.
At 23 turns and his ninth year in the Illume Wing, S’nuo still remembers when the new bronze rider joined their ranks. At the time S’nuo couldn’t tell you what he thought of the 21 turn old A’lez, but it became quickly apparent that the man would go far as he raised in the ranks of the wing.
Eventually, he found A’lez as his new wingleader and S’nuo showed no regrets. Often reporting to the man when a new candidate was found from his search rides, S’nuo was content with his own place within the Weyr as a searchrider. Like the rest of his wing, he was proud and honored when A’lez’s Bronze Neinoth flew the Senior Gold.
Finding their wing with sudden prestige, S’nuo found himself standing a little taller like the rest of his wing mates despite only riding a blue. Even so, when A’lez approached S’nuo with the problem of the Weyr holding no current Candidate Master, it took the man putting it very bluntly for S’nuo to realize he was just appointed the job on top of his own regular duties within the wing. Handing over his Searchrider knots, S’nuo took up the Candidate Master knots and found himself wondering what was in store for this next chapter of his life.
Dragon Info
Name: Malith
Color: Blue
Age: 21 Turns
Description:
A soft blue color that is pleasant on the eyes and more of a pastel shade, Malith is a rather small blue. Small enough, in fact, that in his full 25 meters Malith can still find himself smaller than a few of the greens within the Weyr. Everything in healthy portion, no part of Malith seems out of size or length upon his body, he is just small in general. Petit might even be a better word for it. A sharp contrast to his large, well muscled rider.
While the majority of his hide is that soft, pastel blue there are darker areas on the underside of his wing membrane as well as upon his eyeridges. This gives him an accented look. There are a few greens who enjoy his doting upon them, though he does not often win the green flights. He has grace in his flight like any green would and is more capable of the complicated maneuvers, it is the stamina that he lacks in comparison to his larger blue and brown brothers. Try as he might, he is no match for a bronze.
Personality:
Humble is the perfect word to describe Malith. More than well aware of his rank and place among the queen’s harem that is the Weyr, Malith accepts that he’ll never fly one of the great queens. He also respects, however, that he should pay homage to them. So when a queen rises, so too does Malith, paying her the simple compliment that he would compete against even bronzes in her honor. Despite his devotion to the queens of the Weyr, Malith understands that his mates are to be chosen out of the greens within the Weyr. These too he gives his attention and while he may not win many flights, he has won one or two. This is enough to satisfy him and he is content with this.
Affectionate is another word that greatly describes Malith along with Patient. His small size allows Malith to be a great babysitter for S’nuo’s many nieces and nephews. Patient with the children and affectionate toward S’nuo, Malith looks forward to S’nuo finding a nice Weyrmate and having children of their own. He thinks his rider is a great man and can’t really understand why S’nuo has yet to ask a woman to share his weyr for longer than one flight.
Wheither it is his size or his patience, nobody will really ever know, but Malith is a great search dragon. Having found many candidates themselves, S’nuo and Malith have one of the highest search to impression ratios. While neither one has a very boastful nature, it has not gone unnoticed to the Weyrwoman and Wingleaders.
