Rinkin came into the infirmary after he had come down with a cough and a slight fever. He had stayed outside to watch a meteor shower and against the orders of the candidate master. The candidate master had told all of them to go inside and get some sleep because it was going to be a cold night. While Rinkin had thought that it would have been okay and had decided to stay up instead. It had been a amazing meteor shower and had been worth it as he coughed. A glimpse by a blue rider of his condition had sent him down here and he sighed.
The candidate came into the large infirmary and he seemed to be the only one in the room. He asked, "Anyone here," as he walked around the room and didn't want this to keep him from standing on the sands? Rinkin wanted to impress a dragon more then anything and no little fever was going to keep him from doing it. A glimpse around the room he found a few gels and other things though he didn't know of anything to do with it. His perfect preference on being healer was that it was left to people who we're called for this sort of thing. "Hello, I was sent here for a fever," said Rinkin as he looked around at the empty room and started to huff where was the healer.

Eira really did not need to be at the infirmary, it was more or less by choice to see if she could help out if there happened to be many people in the infirmary. Last night was a meteor shower and she figured some people would of stayed up to watch it, even with the cold. Really, she liked being around the infirmary, healing people so to speak. She would stand to be impressed, but if she wasn't, it would not leave her with a broken heart. Humming as she walked, she came around the corner to enter the room and was a little surprised to find only Rinkin here.
At least she heard why he was sent there. She had enough experience to know what he would need and where the necessary tools would be. “I can help you.” She spoke softly as she stepped over to him. “Name's Eira, you can have a seat over there.” Gesturing over to the table, her lips curled into a soft kind smile. “Do you have any other symptoms by chance? Or is it just a fever?” General questions she felt like she needed to ask so he could be well and on his way as soon as possible. Something dawned on her though and for a brief moment she bit her bottom lip like she tended to do. “By the way, what is your name? That would be fairly useful...” Eira told him before smiling kindly at him. While she recognized him as a fellow candidate, she did not know him well enough to know his name.

Rinkin smiled at the young woman that was now in front of him and sat down. He said, "Yeah, just a fever," as he waited for her to something about the fever. The young candidate looked around and was thankful that someone was actually here at the moment. While the healers we're very busy these days and sometimes they couldn't be found. The candidate was asked him named and said, "My name is Rinkin," as he smiled at her. He was looking forward to the eggs actually hatching.
While the eggs had been on the sands it seemed like it had been forever since the eggs had been touching. He sighed then looked around and said, "It's been going on for a day or so though I do have a slight cough,". Rinkin coughed again then sighed because he didn't want the sickness keeping him from the hatching sands. His chances of another clutch we're a long time away because the queens of the weyr seemed to only rise once a year if that.

Nodding as he mentioned he just had a fever, she had a good idea what to concoct for him more or less. “Just a fever, Really Rinkin?” Eira asked lightly as her hazel eyes flicked over to the fellow candidate. She liked getting a full idea one what was going on naturally, she or other healers could not do a thing if he didn't say what was fully wrong with him. Keeping secrets from anyone who could make an ill person better was never a good idea.
That was when he answered her questions and a soft hmm left her. “Day or two with a slight cough..” The woman mentioned with another small hmm. “Alright then I think I know what could get rid of the cough then...” She mentioned with a soft smile before moving over where the various ingredients were. The young woman didn't say much about what she was putting into an empty jar but, it was various liquids that left the end result with a deep blue color. Turning back towards Rinkin she squished the little jar and bottled it. “Here we go, pour a small spoonful of that into hot water and a little bit of sugar to sweeten it. Should take care of the cough and help bring down the fever too...”Eira told him as she walked back over to the bed side.
“Think you can remember that? I can go with you to the Weyrhall to help you make the first cup. Mix with this and just trying to rest should really help.”

Rinkin listened to her speak then said, "Yes, that would be great," and it was not a voice that was excited about the medicine. He had bad experiences with medicines and they all tasted bad with sweetner or not. The candidate got up then would follow her to the kitchens and would learn how to put the medicine together. His smile was one of nervousness about the medicine and he was starting to act like a little kid with the medicine. While he was just taking his time walking and sighed as he looked at her.
He wouldn't stay out late to watch anymore meteor showers anytime soon. The young candidate had just wanted a night of fun and now was paying for it with sickness. Rinkin was kicking dirt as he walked it showed that he was no enthustastic about the medicine. It probalby had a bitter taste and even though he was sixteen he was acting like a little kid at the moment.

Eira simply smiled a little bit, she knew how some could be with medicine. Even adults were worse than some of the children and in a way she found it humorous. She hated bitter medicines herself though, she was able to figure out to make them taste just a little bit better. Then again, everyone's tongues were different, for her this mixture was not too bitter. So hopefully it would be the same for Rinkin.
“Right this way then.” She told him softly before they were off to the kitchens. It was in between meals so thankfully while it was busy, it was not too busy and she was able to get her hands on a cup of hot water. “Alright then you just need to put a small amount...”With that, Eira started showing him how to mix it up, she did two spoons into the water and mixed it lightly. “How sweet do you normally take your tea or Khall?” She asked him curiously before taking another spoon for the sugar. “Asking because I recommend doing one extra spoonful of sugar to take down the bitterness. Maybe a spoon and a half if you find it extra bitter.” The young woman explained to him lightly.

Rinkin followed her into the lower caverns and saw that it was mostly empty. He watched her put the concoction together then said, "I take it very sweet," as he coughed a little. The candidate just sighed he hoped that the sickness would get better because he didn't want to be kept away from the hatching grounds. His sigh was apparent and he would follow all of her directions. It was true that the candidate had not really got to know of the others. A situation that he would have to remedy because it would hopefully be for the next two turns they would all be together training.
His sigh as he held out his hand to get the drank and take it down. The candidate saw a piece of sweet bread and started to eat on it. Rinkin was starting to get very hungry and thought that maybe eating something would be a good idea. A medicine taken on a empty stomach would make him more sick then he was at this moment.

”Sweet it is.” Eira replied as she made the concoction just a hair sweeter than he normally would take it. Listening to his cough, she did not like the sound of it but at the very least it sounded like a soft one. That meant the little bit of medicine that he was given would knock out this little fever out quickly. Or so she hoped, it was one her father had taught her and she found it helped with most people. “That bit of sweet bread will help. Should stick with plenty of soup too.” She mentioned with a small smile as she handed him the drink.
Watching him take the medicine, she lightly bit her lip for a brief moment. “Hope I did not make it too bitter.” Her voice was soft, really, even though she had made the bit of medicine like she always did, Eira always worried about making things right. It was just how she was, she liked to make sure people she treated were getting the right care they should be getting. If anything, she would let the healer and the Candidate Master know what exactly she gave him. Also, she would let them know how much she dosed him too. It couldn't hurt letting others know what he was taking. Even taking care of a simple fever was serious in her mind, just like making sure she knew names and dates during Weyrlessons.
The brunette may not be as enthusiastic as Rinkin about impressing, but, if she were to impress she wanted to make sure that dragonet was very well taken care of. Watching him eat the bit of sweet bread and sip at the 'tea' she fixed for him, the young woman lightly hummed. “Are you a little anxious about the upcoming hatching?” She asked the younger candidate curiously, if you asked her it always seemed like the boys were more more anxious of the lot about the hatching's. Granted, she was fairly positive many of the other female candidates were very anxious themselves at the possibility of impressing the gold.

"It's fine," said Rinkin as he looked at her then grimaced at the taste that seemed to linger in his mouth. He listened to her question then said, "A little I honestly don't know if I'll be found worthy,". Rinkin looked at her then said, "I mean there are more candidates then eggs and someone will left standing I just hope that it is not me,". The candidate fiddled with his hands and then looked at her for a moment. "I would love any color of dragon it make no difference to me," asked Rinkin as he thought that a brown dragon would be a good dragon to have? "I do have a personal preference for brown dragons their perfect right in the middle and can fit in with anyone," said Rinkin as he looked at her for a moment.
The candidate was very worried that the dragons would find the other young men and women more worthy. He had to agree that bronze dragons would go to those that we're more of a leadership type. His desire for a dragon had caused him to forget about her and asked, "Do you have a preference I assume gold it seems all the girls want gold?" A gold dragon was a great thing and yet it mattered not to him as it could never impress to a boy.

Eira nodded very slightly, she knew the taste would linger very slightly but once again everyone was different when it came to tastes. “I'm sure you'll be fine.” She mentioned lightly. Honestly, she didn't know why some were so...Worried about impressing, especially some of the much younger candidates that would be at the hatching's when they happen. She really doubt that Rinkin really needed to worry as much if at all. As he spoke, she did nod again in agreement about his preference, there were really only two sorts of dragons she could really impress and that of course was the gold and green. Though, once in a while a blue would impress to a girl she doubted that one would impress her.
When he asked her about a preference, and assumed she wanted the gold, Eira let out a short laugh. “No. I have no preference and I am one of the rare one's that could care less about impressing the gold.” She told him honestly. “Really, if I don't impress at all that is fine by me I'll just be happy doing healer work.” It was funny to her how some of the girls were bent on impressing the gold dragonet, it was also sorta funny to her how some would be completely crushed if they didn't impressed a dragonet at all. Either way, the young woman was just indifferent and it could go either way for her and she would be happy. One thing for sure, in the case that she is impressed Eira had been studying and paying attention to the Weyrlessons all candidates had.
