Crom – Against the Return of the Weyrs
LORD ZIRID (70) Height – 5’9” / 5’5”
Weight – 130 lbs
Build – Skin and Bones
Eye – Cloudy / Blue
Hair – White
Noticeable – Left eye is cloudy and he can no longer see out of that eye. He also has a curved back, so while he was never considered a tall man, his 5’9” should really be considered 5’5” as he can no longer stand straight.
Clothing – Tailored fit pants, neatly pressed and well starched – dark in color. Cream colored shirt, also tailor fitted with a laced V at the neck. Wide black belt that keeps his shirt neatly tucked in and polished black shoes as boots have grown too heavy for his feet.
Personality – Caustic; Capable; Confident; Cold-Hearted; Efficent; Domineering; Critical; Frank; Grouchy; Haughty
History – Very little is known to the common people of Lord Zirid’s childhood years, or even his young adult life before becoming the Lord of Crom. Naturally it was known that he was the late Lord’s eldest son, and that he was actually the third child born – but beyond that, Lord Zirid’s younger years are known only to those handful who are old enough to actually remember. All of the younger generations don’t care to know as most are simply waiting for the grouchy old man to pass.
Since marrying the Lady Vasill, Lord Zirid has produced three sons, all of whom their mother was very proud and fond of yet none who seem to have held up to Lord Zirid’s own personal expectations. Through their life, each has been appointed Heir more than once and each have had the title ripped away from them. Despite her love for his sons, Lady Vasill puts her complete trust in Lord Zirid’s choice and stands behind him knowing that in the end he will chose only what is best for Crom Hold.
Currently there are quiet whisperings traveling through the holds that Lord Zirid has ripped the Heirship from his oldest son one last time, but not to hand to one of his other two sons. Instead, Lord Zirid now travels with his youngest grandson, Throuq. The resemblance between the two is uncanny and makes more than one person uneasy.
LADY VASILL (69) Height – 5’0”
Weight – 93 lbs
Build – Skin and Bones
Eye – Teal
Hair – Black/Silver/White
Noticeable – So very unlike her husband, Lady Vasill has a kind face and can soften the feelings of any person with her simple look of understanding and patience. Many often say its Lady Vasill they love, not the Lord, but nobody can deny the prosperity of Crom Hold while under the influence of the pair. While she backs her husband completely while in his company, she is magnificent at smoothing over the relations after he has stormed out of the room. While she never undermines her husband, she has a knack for making those he lords over feel a little bit better about the circumstances.
Clothing – Heavy skirts and multiple tunics and scarves, it is amazing that in her old age Lady Vasill can carry so much clothing upon her frail and failing bones. She has a shake in her hands that will not go away, but she remains bundled up no matter the climate as she is forever cold – mostly due to her also failing blood circulation. Many wonder how much longer the Lady Vasill will manage to hold onto her life.
Personality – Affectionate; Supportive; Careful; Compassionate; Confident; Encouraging; Dutiful; Happy; Loyal; Loving ; Tired; Crafty; Fearless
HistoryJust like her Lord and Husband, Lady Vasill’s childhood is barely remembered by herself or her peers. Too much time has lapsed between then and now and her memory is slowly failing her. Even so, she is happy to still be able to announce that she remembers the birth of all three of her sons, all nine of her grandchildren and all sixteen of her great grand children. It is something she greatly prides herself in and she hopes she will be there to welcome number her seventeenth grandchild into the world as well.
She is ready to make this her last trip to Fort – or any hold for that matter – as her bones are growing too weak to be on the road for so many weeks. It has been turns since she was able to stay atop a runner and now travels within the wagons. No, this will be her last conclave. If her husband does not relinquish his Lordship to a child soon, she fears she may need to begin sending a granddaughter in her place to support Lord Zirid.
