Anaryn was tired and a bit upset. She'd just been by the Creche to visit her daughter to learn that Arayn was sick! She wanted to cry into her cup of klah. She felt so exhausted and had been wondering why she'd been sent with the group to find the Dragonriders! But if she hadn't, she wouldn't have been bonded to her lovely Athenath. Somethings were a defined evil, in her mind. She sighed and took another sip of her cup.
Do not feel so terrible, mine. Athenath spoke gently into Anaryn's mind.
I'm sorry, my sweet. I did not mean to wake you.
You did not wake me, your thoughts did. Athenath snorted at her Rider's thoughts.
I can't even let my lovely green sleep in quiet! Anaryn was anguished. I'm sorry, love. I really am. My daughter is sick.
No need to appologize, mine. I love you.
Anaryn smiled a bit softly. Her head bowed and her eyes unseeingly looking to her cup. I love you too, Athenath. She settled back into her cup of klah. She hoped her baby girl, Arayn, would be alright. Hopefully it wasn't serious. Her thoughts roaming around her daughter and Athenath.

Meri had been heading into the Hall to grab a bite after a long day. At one point when Artemth had been asleep and she had finished her chores, she had gone to the infirmary and offered her help, telling them of her previous apprenticeship as a midwife. After that, the ever-busy infirmary workers had requested she come by as often as possible, since they were always in need of an experienced hand - especially if they knew a thing or three about prenatal and neonatal care. Of course, Meri was learning all manner of other techniques that had nothing to do with obstetrics, but she welcomed it. It was nice to feel useful during the times when her lifemate wasn't there to assure her of it.
One of the babies had come down with something in the night, a little cold that - while common - was still scary when one so young caught it. Her cough was worrying, but the more experienced Healers were certain that she'd recover in full shortly. Meri had only caught a glimpse of the child's mother earlier, but he heart went out to the poor girl. She knew her to be one of the Northerners, and a fellow greenweyrling at that. They...hadn't spoken, but that could be said for many of Meri's fellow Weyrlings. But the girl had come all that way - pregnant, no less - to be so far from home in so different a land...and now her little one was ill.
When Meri caught sight of that very person in the Weyrhall, she made quick work of whispering something to the cooks. Shortly, two steaming bowls of hearty soup and two mugs of a calming tea were placed before her. Smiling and thanking the staff, she somehow managed to finagle all four containers in her arms. They were hot and full of liquid, so she had to go quite slowly across the bustling area to make sure none got spilled. That would be just her luck to scald herself or someone else, it would.
Thankfully, she got to the table safely and set down the items quietly. Sliding one set over in front of the other girl, she gave her a shy smile. "Th-this'll do you better th-than that klah," she said, motioning to the invigorating soup and soothing tea. Klah would likely only put her more on edge, and she looked like she was about to cry. Biting her lip in hesitation, Meri slowly took a seat next to the other and put a friendly arm around her shoulders loosely, not wanting to crowd her if she didn't want it there. "D-don't worry. The Healers say it's just a c-common cold...b-babies get them a l-lot. Sh-she should be fine soon." She gave what she hoped was an encouraging smile, then waited to see if the other girl would talk or tell her to go away.
