Zhayde walked in reflective silence as she quietly made her way towards the Hatching Cavern. It wasn't unusual for the girl, she was commonly known as the "quiet one", although there was usually a peaceful smile lighting her face. She liked to listen and see what others had to say before adding in her own opinion. She'd been taught by her father to weigh her thoughts before answering. Of course, with childlike logic, even Zhayde had her moments of immaturity. As she cast a glance up towards the sky at the myriad of colors that the sun was casting as it began to slowly make its descent in the sky, she thought of the Brat Pack name that she had been given- "Rainbow". She knew that she'd been given it because of her unerring since of optimism and hope, about everything. Not to mention she could sometimes get rather flowery with her words.
Taking the lower tunnel through to the Hatching Sands, Zhayde was one of the first to arrive and she reveled in the quiet solitude of the Sands. The shards from the eggs that had Hatched were long since gone, the sands swept clean of the evidence of what had taken place. With an exultant grin, Zhayde took off at a run across the sands, cutting a couple of cartwheels before completing them with a round-off. Her training with her father still continued and while she knew that her father took their lessons together very seriously, she found enjoyment in learning the way the body could move and flow.
Flinging her arms open, Zhayde whirled around for a moment, enjoying the carefree feeling of the empty Sands before she threw herself to the ground with a laugh. Staring up at the sky she sighed in quiet satisfaction. At the sound of someone approaching, Zhayde propped herself up on her elbows, happy to see some of the other Brat Pack members arriving. These were her family, even if they weren't related by blood. She knew tonight that they would be discussing a new leader since Silver Tongue, Dash and Arrow had all Impressed. That could possibly even lead to them looking for more recruits, Zhayde decided.

Chores were such a hassle sometimes. It seemed she was given more now that she had come into her rank as Candidate. With lessons and chores, her firelizard and tunnel cat, she admittedly had been neglecting her duty to the pack. It was for this reason and the obvious fact that H’nuk, T’ran and B’hari were now Weyrlings and had no time for the pack, that this meeting was being held.
And on such a day one would think she’d actually be running on time. Faranth forgive her! She thought the oath rather than saying it out loud. The passage the Brats took to the Caverns was quiet, so much so that Seirsha could hear her footfalls as they happened and then the sound reverberating off of the cavernous walls of the passage.
The Sands were a place of bitter loss and tumultuous joy for her. Some of the best and worst things that had happened to her had happened here on the very birthplace of dragons. For whatever reason, she had always been drawn here even before her admittance into the pack. It made sense to her that a change of leadership should be decreed here and it would honor the memory of her dearest friend known to the pack as Spinner.
Upon arriving at the entrance to the Sands from the passage, she stopped and watched Rainbow perform her cartwheels before stepping onto the Sands herself. “Hello Rainbow. Having some fun?” She smiled, as her brown flitter crash landed into her shoulder, falling into the sling of her arm. The little guy was incorrigible for there really was nothing to be done about his clumsiness.
As she walked closer to the other Pack member, Glow began to think about where the others might be. “Wonder when everyone else will be able to get here.” She mused out loud then added, “And I thought I was running late.”

Megdela hurried out to the sands with her ever present blue on her shoulder. Cye was chattering away happily telling her about everything it seemed like. Lately he had been taking her off to explore everywhere even some of the tiniest niches. She rubbed Cye's eye ridges as she walked out to the others seeing Zhayde and Seirsha she was happy to see them.
She missed H’nuk, T’ran and B’hari now that they became weyrlings and no longer had time for the pack. She wondered who was gonna step up now that they were in need of new leadership. She hoped that the pack wasn't gonna break up now that most of the leadership was gone.
She looked around. " Sorry i'm running late. Cye wanted to show me something that he had found. She was still a bit worried about cye though he still flew around more then he betweened and wondered if that meant something was wrong with him.
