T'mar was relaxing or trying to relax. He had to do two interviews with different Wingleaders. He decided he would talk to A'lez of the Illume Wing, and D'seus of the Shadow Wing. The hard part was choosing which one to do first. He decided he would start with A'lez. D'seus still intimidated him a bit, sense he had been Weyrleader.
Stretching himself out into a bit more comfortable position on Petroth's back as they floated in the bay before he scrubbed and oiled his twin blue, T'mar thought about graduation day. It was coming fast. Had it really been almost 2 years? He couldn't believe it. It had went by fast. He wouldn't trade anything for any part of it, well, maybe the Holdless attack, he would trade that off. But he wasn't a bit upset about all the hard work it took to get this far.
Why are you so worried tmar-mine? Why would talking to another rider be so hard for you to do? Petroth turned his long neck around toward his back so he could nuzzle his rider.
I don't really know Pet. When I was younger they scared me. I respect them, and I guess I'm still a little scared of them too. Once we get past the graduation and settled into our wing, maybe I'll settle a bit. Right now I'm worried I won't graduate.
Petroth snorted in responce to something so silly as 'not graduating' silly boy. How can they not graduate. They have done well, and worked hard. All of them have. Turning around slowly in the water so not to dump T'mar, Pet headed for shore, he wanted his bath and he itched.
Taking time to think about it, T'mar decided he better have Petroth get a hold of Nienoth to ask permission for a interview at A'lez's convenience. Once they reached the shore, the lad sat up slowly. Taking a deep breath, he slid from Petroth's back into the shallow water. He grabbed his bucket and headed back out to start washing his life-mate.
Pet, please ask Nienoth if his is available for a interview. If so, when and where. T'mar sighed again and got to work on bathing his wonderful friend. He listened as Petroth passed on the message, then put the thoughts out of his mind as he started to scrub and hum. Petroth hummed along with him, it felt sooooo good getting scrubbed.

Neinoth was somewhat surprised when he was contacted by the young Blue. Most often times the smaller and younger dragons tended to give him a bit of a berth. But he passed on the message as requested, recognizing that this was a human matter and apparently official. After just a moment, he reached back out to the young Blue.
Absolutely. Bring yours to Lezmine's office at your earliest convenience today. Preferably before evening sup. The older Bronze answered, rolling over on his ledge and allowing his tail to slide off and dangle downward.
It was a nice day to be lazy. Originally A'lez had planned to take the entire day off from everything, even for his dragon. Which had thrilled Neinoth immensely. They had been so busy of late with far more than what was their traditional duties, the pair (and yes, the entire wing) were due a break to do anything but. However ... a youngster's request for a word wasn't something that the Bronzerider was prone to ignoring, even on a day off.
For one thing it kept the man better informed of what was exactly going on in the Weyr ranks - and staying informed was a must for the Wingleader, on-again off-again sometimes Weyrleader, and current envoy to the North.

T'mar hadn't expected a answer from A'lez quite so soon. He stood there with his arm in the air holding the rag he was using to wash Petroth with. He looked frozen in time. Petroth turned his head around to look at his rider. He started chuckling in his draconic way at the shocked lad.
huh huh huh, You look funny standing so still like that. huh huh huh! Petroth used his snout to gently push T'mar, the lad didn't even notice until he was sputtering and trying to gain his footing. Petroth offered his front leg to help the boy from drowning. Here silly one grab hold before you inhale all the water. huh huh huh Petroth was really enjoying watching the normally composed boy floundering in the water.
T'mar was shocked for the second time when Petroth nosed him over. He came out of his frozen state real quick when his face went under. He flailed around like a fish out of water until he caught his blues leg. It didn't help that Petroth was enjoying his problem way too much. Finally able to stand, it took a few minutes to cough out the water he swallowed. What did you do that for Pet? He sputtered. Grabbing his cloth he went back to washing Petroth. You didn't move, you were stuck standing there with your arm in the air. You looked funny. So I pushed. You are better now. Petroth replied as he nuzzled his rider with affection.
He didn't expect A'lez to want him today, he actually thought he wouldn't see him until the next time he was at the Weyr. He wasn't prepaired. He decided he would work on it while he was done eating lunch. Petroth first, then getting his clipboard and eating lunch. That decided he got to work finishing the bathing. Petroth, please tell Neinoth that we will be there soon. He knew the Wingleader was super busy and rarely was at the Weyr these days.
Neinoth, tmarmine says he will be there as soon as he finishes my bath. He also needs to eat.Petroth passed on including the part that his rider didn't hear. He wanted to make sure his rider was ok too. Someone had to, the silly lad would forget his head sometimes if it wasn't attached.

Neinoth stuck his tongue out of his mouth and it lolled up the side of his face to almost touch the stone that was beneath his eyeridge. Eat. Now that sounds like a plan indeed. Mine is in no hurry, neither am I. Get your bath and your meal. We will be here by then. Neinoth answered, before rolling his head over to a sideways perspective to stare into the relative darkness that was his weyr, compared to the bright warmth of the ledge. Mine, I think a meal sounds delightful.
"You just ate two days ago." A'lez reminded pointedly, scratching idly in his short-cropped hair as he wandered out onto the ledge. "You keep eating like that and you'll be so big you'll never even dream of catching a Queen again in your life." He pointed out, knowing he was hitting directly on the Bronze's sensitive spot. Not given to chasing Queens, Neinoth was a definite wooer and charmer of the Golden ladies ... and quite put out whenever they didn't choose him. Which ... was most of the time, lately. Despite how they suddenly had a population of Queens, rather than just one to be argued over. A'lez rather thought this was a very interesting phenomenon, though he was careful to keep such thoughts closely guarded. It wouldn't do to have his own dragon irate with him.
Faranth knew he had plenty enough to do without being the Weyrleader at the same time. His last two-year stint as single handed leader was enough to put him off the job for a few turns to come... in recent history that was a rather short stint, but so many things had happened in those two years to make it seem like twenty. Especially given his lack of a weyrwoman at the time.
Neinoth rolled upright again with a grunt, sticking an elbow out to keep him there, pulling his tongue back inside his head. Looking like a proper senior Bronze ought to once again. You think so? Do you think that's what my problem is, I'm eating too much?
A'lez shook his head. "Not yet. You cut back now and you'll lose strength, too. Just don't eat more. What ever in the world got you started on the idea of a meal right now anyway?" He asked, stepping up to the dragon's chest and resting a hand on the smooth hide there as he stared out over the bowl at the Weyr in general.
Petroth said something about how his needed to eat something. Neinoth answered, truthful and blunt as a cudgel.
A'lez chuckled. "If you ate every time you heard about a rider eating, you'd be big as this whole Weyr. Just put it from your mind and go back to napping." With that, he turned around and walked back into the shady recesses of the much cooler weyr. Picking up a slowly burning candlestick, he started dripping wax one drop at a time onto a pile of cooled dripped wax that was already formed on a section of oiled hide.
It was a rather strange art, but it was peaceful and didn't include any number crunching or politics. The shape of the thing was slowly coming about, one drop of cooling wax at a time.

Neinoth says to go eat first, that he and his will be back by then. He thinks eating sounds like a good idea. Petroth relayed just as T'mar was putting the finishing touches to his left wing. Oiling always felt good no matter how many times a day he could get some here and there. There were some advantages with growing so fast, lots of oil was one of them.
T'mar grunted approval at the same time his stomach growled. There you go buddy. Lets go eat and do me a favor ok? Try not to take a bath in blood this time. I don't want to be back here again today. He teased his blue. I NEVER bathe in heard beast blood, thats just ... gross as you would say! Petroth pretended to shutter in discust. Laughing T'mar patted the blues chest lovingly. Well lets go, you first.
Petroth waited until T'mar had walked a pace or two away before launching himself into the air. He flapped his wings once then glided over to the feeding pens. He chose a aging beast and managed to eat it neatly. He chose another two before he was finished. The only blood was a bit on his maw, which he licked off, and his talens which he gracefully rose into the air and made a low flying pass across the water dragging his feet enough he washed them off well. Once done he stopped for T'mar and they went to the barracks.
Once T'mar was clean and had grabbed his clipboard, he headed to the Dining Cavern for a meal and a bit of thinking about what he wanted to ask A'lez during his interview with him. He grabbed a tray and filled it with stew, meatrolls a few red fruit and a bubbly pie before grabbing a steaming cup of Klah. He selected a place to sit and dug in while he thought about his up coming meeting with A'lez.
When he was done, he alerted Petroth he was ready if A'lez was. Petroth relayed the message to Neinoth that HIS was ready if Neinoth's was. T'mar headed out of the Dinning Cavern to the waiting Petroth. Together they headed for Lezmine's office.

The wax sculpture was almost finished by the time T'mar made it up to where A'lez was passing a rare day in idleness. They're on their way. Neinoth warned, giving A'lez time to stand the candle up and blow it out. As he started peeling wax bits off his fingers, he speculated on asking Neinoth who was on their way, just to be annoying.
Which got a burst of amusement from the Bronze, as he rolled to a more dignified position. Getting belly-down again, he pulled his legs in under him and lifted his head, wings rustling as they folded to a neat position on his back. But he reached across the space with his tail to place the tip behind the legs of A'lez's chair, preventing the man from scooting it back away from the desk at all.
"Come on, Ne. Really?" A'lez protested after the first effort to scoot the seat back failed utterly. Chuffing in complete amusement, the Bronze removed his tail and allowed the rider to get up. An attempt was made at dusting wax splatters off his trousers, but given they'd landed there semi molten, they remained stuck resolutely. Giving up on that endeavor, A'lez just snatched up a shirt off the back board and slipped into it to become at least semi-presentable. Expecting a meeting-worthy attired A'lez at the moment was more than anyone was going to get. It was his day off, after all. Presentable was the best anyone was going to get.
Walking to the door, he pulled it open just as T'mar arrived, more by happenstance luck than any preplanning or divining. "Hello. I am told you wanted to say something?" A'lez asked, stepping back and waving the younger rider inside. A'lez was certainly curious what T'mar wanted. Given there was a board in hand, it was apparently something the youth had spent some time mulling over. And this only raised A'lez's curiosity a few more notches.
