Character Info:
Name: T'rel (Tanrel) (face: actor/singer Kim Hyun Joong)
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Rank: Brown Rider
Family:
Mother is Eun, Father is Braddach, one of the several younger brothers of Cotholder Manre.
Elder sister Faleen(28), younger brothers Daehyun(25), Rannil(22) and Joon(18), younger sister Nanally(15).
Other important relations:
Aunt Nanao, Uncle is Cotholder Manre. Cousins: Ermon (24), T’gir (26), Amairgin (22), Kade(19), Silisse (17)
Uncle Akon, Aunt Miyane, Cousins: Hirate(31),Kogan(27),Akiro(25),Kinsel(23), Tenji(18),Kiyone(16)(16)
Appearance:
6'2", Medium build. Athletic and beginning to show a more bulk as far as musculature as his body has matured into human adulthood. The sun of the south brings a nice bronze to his olive skin. Near-black, Almonde shaped eyes. He keeps dark brown /reddish highlighted (in the sun) hair trimmed at medium length, leaving his hair to appear rather unruly. If he's not too lazy to do something with his appearance, with the use of plant wax, he'll style it spiked up on the top by running a hand of the wax back through the choppy layers, ...but never fail, even this leaves him looking a bit ‘rough’ sometimes.
His typical daily attire would be dark brown riding breeches, bump-toe boots to mid-calf, a lighter coloured riding jacket, and a casual shirt left untucked. He's not one much for accessories however, does wear a leather cording wrapped around one wrist and possibly a pair of fingerless leather gloves that only go so far as to encase up to the wrist.
Personality:
A little on the impatient side and loyal to a fault. Tends to get into fights more quickly than his peers, but he has a good, pure heart. T’rel is a good team player. While he’s loyal and typically more of a follower, he’s also smart, and quick enough to take action on his own when need be. T’rel is fun loving and a pretty relaxed guy. He tries not to take life too seriously, but is rarely lax with his duties as a dragonrider. As far as ever taking any leadership role, he simply says he’s not the type and doesn’t have such ambitions.
He’s fairly casual with relationships with the opposite sex, but tends to keep interest in one person -not really the player type to jump around a lot.
Hobbies/Skills:
Some fair amount of Smithing talent. Enjoys rough housing/ brawling and working outside in the sun where there is always sweat on the brow. T’rel also enjoys team sports type activities -anything with a group.
Pets:
N/A
History:
Born in Halistat Cothold, at the age of 7 he began apprenticing in the smithcraft with local craftsmen and sometimes even assisting the tanners with their labour. As a young boy, he learned how to make trinkets like locks and keys. These were great fun to him because they opened forbidden things! As a young boy, the height of his fun always came when he could sneak around and with all his keys, trying to unlock things...anything, everything he could find that was hidden. Because logically, all locks concealed behind them some fantastic treasure! Adventure indeed! Often, other hold boys accompanied him on these adventures for hidden hold treasure. As he grew older, he learned to appreciate finer methods of metalwork, and began learning to make finer tools such as weapons or tools for other crafting trades.
Several uncles, cousins nephews, all resided within the Halistat area. In particular, he grew up feeling very close to hi cousin T’gir, who was the eldest son of cotholder Manre. Perhaps because his cousin T'gir was taller; perhaps because he seemed smarter; perhaps because he never shared his deepest thoughts; perhaps because he was such a good friend and at the same time such an unknown at times...An unspoken sense of wonderment always entered his mind when it came to T'gir. In fact, his cousin made him feel like a dullard; he respected T'gir like an adult who possessed some cosmic wisdom well beyond both their ages. T’rel was barely 14 at the time they shared vows of loyalty... of brotherhood. After all, If they couldn’t rely on each other, who could they rely upon?
The heart was always loyal to something, so make your loyalty count, they said... Place it with importance. To T'rel, T'gir was the most important person in his life; and T’gir was going to carry on his father’s legacy of building for them a greater holding, greater security, greater prosperity in the future-it was a fealty well-placed.
T’gir had the privilege of designating T’rel as an honorary officer in the mercenary clan. Shortly after, T'rel was the first of them to swear loyalty toT’gir and his cause. This would be the first promise they made as young men. For T'rel, this meant all his life he would act for the sake of T'gir and T'gir likewise, would care for T'rel. They would always look out for eachother. They would always be brothers, not just by any blood relation.
Every single day their promise to each other was built on trust and respect. T'rel's respect only grew as they aged and in all truth, in a way, T’rel wanted to fight the matter when searchriders came, calling out for T’gir to join them on the hatching grounds that turn. In his eyes, T'gir should be a leader of men; or should have Impressed a Bronze. He feared T'gir would never rise to a position of great influence now -with a dragon, and only a brown. But at least they went to the weyr together.
It was at an age of 18 T’rel had been searched. He was happy to live life in the Weyr most of the time...he did what life demanded of him; but for some reason, life still felt as though it were lingering on slowly, waiting for something to come along...waiting for the chance to help his cousin rise to some great occasion.
Dragon Info
Name:Nicath
Color:Brown.
Age: 8 turns since hatching (1253)
Description:
Average size for a brown, but stocky dragon with well built musculature. He’s not as quick as some, but his strength is impressive for a brown. His tail is average length, the structure of his head is broad and eye ridges thick. His colouring is an intriguing Fallow brown with darkening, reddening colour along the spine from the end of his nose to the end of his tail.
Personality:
Somewhat chatty brown, but more interested in casual conversation than serious topics; just doesn't seem to take any interest in serious matters. When he’s not talking, sometimes seems to space out while sunning on rocky ledges, not even necessarily in thought...just watching the world in quiet appreciation perhaps? Or maybe just dumbfounded. Oddly, for his slightly bulky appearance and typically gruff approach of people, he is a suprisingly gentle beast. But this dragon is also a more likely to be involved in conflict; He is certainly competitive, but not a particularly agressive sort...more likely because he tends to not consider why he's getting in a spat to begin with, and if the mood feels right...T'rel is certainly providing personalized counseling on that matter.
Can be abrupt in his approach of others. But he harbors no real ill will toward any dragon or person, unlike his rider who can be a bit rowdy.
History:
Clutch: Aeriath (1235)
Hatching Order:
Text Color:
Mind Voice: tenor coloured by undercurrents of curiosity and amusement.
((in process of finalizing history since arrived at weyr and dragon history. thanks!))
