Age: 28
Gender: Female
Rank: Second in Command - Holdless
Sexual Orientation - Heterosexual
Family:
Appearance:
Playby: Vanessa Hudgens
Nellira is on the shorter side standing at 5'3. But her personality makes up for what she lacks in height. The woman's hair is long, wavy with bangs that are directly above her eyes. It is dark brown in color and is typically pulled into some arrangement that removes it from her eye-sight. While her eyes are a dull, dark green. In the right lighting they fleck a sea-foam tinge. Her eyes are more of a rounded almond shape. Nellira is pretty, but she has her physical scars. Among them are superficial ones on her arms from sparring, a long gash along her back from a fight and tiny ones across her chest from sheer clumsiness.
Her body is the type that can become more round should proper feeding be had. However, for their cause, Nellira keeps herself in good, healthy condition. Her hips of the wider child-bearing variety, though she had never had any children and does not wish any. Her work-out regimen would be similar to that of a dragonrider, every day, for large amounts of time.
Nellira is not muscular, but she is fit and has strength that looks like it shouldn't come from her short stature. Nellira has difficulty hearing from her right side, she popped an ear drum at a younger age and it never healed properly.
Nellira is sensible and prepared, she usually dons workable clothing, fit tunics (or preferably fitted leather jerkins) and working slacks. The colors are usually darker, they show stains less, and can be found in blues, browns, and blacks. She carries three daggers at all times. One in her boot, and one on each hip. A Holdless has to be prepared. Her forearms are usually covered in leather shielding with knotted pieces for arm blocking.
Personality:
Nellira is a tough one. She is very isolative and complex, only truly confiding in Riverton. She has a quick wit and typically refuses to accept "no" or "can't" as an answer. Nellira has been known for her explosive temper, but it is usually satiated quickly with a yell at whatever is bothering her. Nellira has the outer exterior of a sharp object, most would say she has walls, or layers, or whatever they excuse to describe her as hard to crack. She has a very decisive resolve and dislikes being told no.
Nellira has a quick wit and thinks quickly on her feet. She is also the type that comes up with plans A - z just in case the first one doesn't go properly. Nellira is rarely without an escape plan of some sort.
Nellira hates being called Nellira. She goes by Nell. Nellira has the kind of personality that no one really likes, but can respect. Nellira has a low toleration for failure and is quick to punish or reprimand, which often gets her into trouble with Riverton.
Nell is typically found with some sort of scowl on her face, her smiles are saved only for her leader and are also rare.
In regards to relationships, she has none and wants none. But she is not above the occasionally tryst to satiate her appetite. She does not let anyone get too close to her, the only person she lets in is Riverton.
Hobbies/Skills:
Pets: None
History:
Nellira is the third born of her family of Healers. Nelip and Irana were pleasant parents who knew what dragonriders were worth and specialized their abilities to help their illnesses and ailments. Nelip and Irana wanted nothing more in their life but to raise a family within the Weyr, possibly have children.
Originating from a migrated cothold outside of Refuge when the revolts began happening all over. Deciding that being in the Weyr should anything happen, Nelip and Irana moved Naper, Ranel and Nellira to the quarters in Refuge Weyr.
Nellira grew up a very normal young lady, who was always the social outcast. Her older brothers aspired to be dragonriders to "fight the good fight." Despite her families love for the Weyr and its contents, Nellira felt as if she were always out of place. Try as she might she did not aspire to be a Healer, or a dragonrider.
When Nellira was 8 Turns old, Nira was born. Unfortunately, because of all the turmoil on Irana during pregnancy the stress induced health problems in Nira. Nira has a hard time breathing under high stress, similar to that of modern day asthma. Nellira always looked out for Nira. Upon Nira birth, and with all of her health problems, Nelip and Irana decided not to have any more children.
In 1243, at 11 Turns, when Naper and Ranel were 13 and 15 respectively, both of her brother's Stood at one of the unexpected hatchings. A new hatchling charged her brothers while Nellira watched in the Stands. Wincing, Ranel jumped in front of Naper and the dragonet hit Ranel so hard that his lung collapsed. By the time Nelip and Irana made it to their son, he was already gone.
In 1247, at 15 Turns, Nellira watched her sister die from her lung complications. The humidity of the southern continent was like breathing water, and Nira's lungs had never worked properly to filter out the 'water.' Unfortunately, during one of the more humid seasons, Nira drifted away in her sleep. Nellira always blamed the Weyr.
The more Nellira's family's love grew for the abominations of the Weyr, the more Nellira resented them and planned her escape. Nellira had hoped to bring her last remaining brother, Naper, with her. She had planned her leaving for Turns, slowly planting the fact that Naper would never impress into his head. Hoping his resentment for not being chosen would grow, and sway him to her side.
In 1251, when Nellira was 19 Turns, Naper impressed to the last clutch before Marskath's death. Angrily, Nellira abandoned the rest of her family in search of the Holdless she had heard so much about. Until she reached her destination she had had no idea what happened to N'per's dragon.
Unfortunately, among the others, N'per's dragon did not survive weyrlinghood. Naper now practices, emptily, at the Weyr and heals other 'riders dragons. When Nellira found out, it was too late. She'd already decided never to return, as far as she was concerned she had no family.
Nellira began traveling various cotholds and scrounging and servicing wherever she may for sustenance. But her tenacity was quickly running out. Until Riverton discovered her, scrounging and nearly starving in the streets. He took her in under his wing and when he finally found the Holdless and turned it towards his cause, Nellira had new purpose. She would aid Riverton and get back at her parents and Weyr for killing her siblings.
Originally, Nellira was happy to scrounge in the bottom ranks, supplying whatever aid she could in any way. Discretely, she has killed more than a handful of men for various reasons (i.e. supplies, information, revenge, etc) for the name of Riverton. Though she'd never admit it unless directly asked. Murder is not something you talk about, or relish in, its duty.
After only a few Turns, Nellira had supplied Riverton with mass of information and supplies, earning her a rightful place next to him as his second. They had grown close in their travels before the cause of Holdless, and now it only seemed right they rule as near as family as either of them would allow.
All Riverton ideas were approved and discussed with Wolf.
