R'kin had snuck out of the barracks as he needed a break from the huge crowd of people that now occupied the barracks. The latest groups of weyrlings had made themselves at home and the space had grown almost too small to house them all. He was thankful that they would be graduating soon enough and then he would have his own weyr. While he had to convince Krestanovith to stay in the barracks because he knew the large bronze would attract too much attention. His steps we're careful as he hide in the shadows not wanting to attract attention and then found himself down by the lake. It was one of his favorite places and he took a sit on a log.
He looked up at the sky and saw a shooting star then smiled for a moment. R'kin couldn't believe how much his life had changed the last few turns and how it was about to change again. In less then a month they'd be graduating and they'd be ready to fly as a regular wing. R'kin had personal hopes of flying a queen one day and with Krestanovith having such a large size that was very possible. His bronze was one of the largest in the weyr and even had surpassed his sire in size. The air was cool for a mid summers night and he thought that he should have grabbed a coat. The current choice of dress was a pair of black leather pants with a brown shirt. His hair was in a messy state as usual and was almost too long to the point of needing a new cut soon enough. When he found something purring near him and then he smiled as his pet cat Lux came to be held in his lap. "Hello, Lux," said R'kin as he petted cat that even Krestanovith had grown to tolerate.
His dragon was not pleased with the cat yet had grown to tolerate him over the last few turns. R'kin put his cat down as she took off no doubt for night hunting and then looked up at the sky. The bronze weyrling just needed some time for himself without all those other people around him and he stayed like this for a good hour. When he started to fade off to sleep and thought about how nice would be too soon be a full rider.
