NayzaretteNortherner Candidate Would they even have enough time in what remained of today for all these tasks S’nuo had assigned? While Nayzarette could see the idea behind it all she couldn’t help but feel it was a bit too much. Yes, meeting the leaders and the riders currently mated to their golds was a great idea; as well as acquainting themselves with the Infirmary, the Weyrling Master and his Assistant and even helping bathe and oil a dragon. But finding all of those people was not going to be easy – though it was going to be very time consuming.
”Well Trelia, Sareen, let’s get crackin’ before we get beaten to the punch. Let’s go after the Weyrwoman, Jr. Weyrwoman and the Jr. Goldrider first.”
Out of those three the first would not be hard to find, or at least Nayza hoped so with all her might. Issarith had clutched recently on the sands and surely would still be there guarding her eggs. Perhaps the Weyrwoman, Sakorai if she wasn’t mistaken, would be around there. It was a little bit after the start of the lunch break for most members of the Weyr; Nayza just hoped the woman had felt like checking over her lifemate and her brood.
”We’ll look around the Hatching Cavern first; with some luck Sakorai might be there, and maybe we’ll strike big and find some of the other important members of the Weyr with her as well.”
Why yes, the brunette had already taken a hold of the reigns of this group – she’d been patient enough for a good few moments after the pairings had been announced to see if any of the other two girls had an idea of what to do first; but their silence, or slow reaction maybe, had been prolonged enough for the northerner to decide to take command. After all, if one wanted something done right the best way to do that was to do it yourself. That way if something did go wrong you had no one else but yourself to blame as well. After all being a leader was certainly no walk in the park; for while many people were drawn to the power and status such roles often carried few actually realized the large amount of responsibility also pertinent to those ranks.
Nayza was more than well aware of it, she had never been one to follow orders after all – or rather she had never been one to sit idly by until someone told her what to do. S’nuo had already given them their tasks; she would make sure they completed them.

Trelia was listening to their orders and sighed because she had already meet most of these people before. She was not in the mood for these lessons and yet would have to humor the others that had not done this yet. The youngest gold rider Marley she'd even meet before because she'd stood with her at the last hatching. "Okay, let's get going," said Trelia as she approached the other girl known as Nayzarette. The young woman hadn't really meet the other girl except in passing and only knew from she'd heard She was a candidate from the north and had only recently arrived. Her eyes went to the other candidate Hinuk who would be joining them. "Your most likely right because the gold riders will want to see the clutching," said Trelia.
She waited for the other candidate to join them as her thoughts went to the clutch. Trelia dreaded the thought of not impressing a dragon and to be left standing again. The young woman had great hope that she'd impress and knew that a second chance would be with Rhiannoth's clutch. Trelia had a dreaded thought of having to wait yet another turn when the queens would rise again just to impress. A small smile played across her face as she tried to have a positive attitude though it was hard. "Hopefully we can do this quickly," whispered Trelia as she had very little interest in this task.

NayzaretteNortherner Candidate Sareen’s silence was a bit unnerving if anything, but the brunette did not allow herself to dwell on it much. She wasn’t here to babysit people and bring them out of their shells; though she had no reservations of perhaps making some friends either. Nayzarette just valued independence over everything else that was all. And while part of her wished she would have been paired with Rhodri thanks to the familiarity he provided the girl was fine with being on her own with strangers for the rest of the evening if needed.
It just meant they would have more things to talk about and share when they met again later, after all.
On the other hand the other girl with her was vocal enough, though Nayza couldn’t help but feel she really didn’t seemed too enthusiastic about it all. She remembered her name, Trelia, though not much else of what she might have mention in her introduction. Still, considering the way she seemed familiar already with the Weyr as they moved the northerner girl had to deduct she had probably been in Refuge for a while now; probably a candidate from past clutches?
”Hopefully we can do this quickly.” ”Maybe; though it certainly beats all the chores we’ve been assigned lately. I rather be playing hide-and-seek with the high ranked members of the day versus tending the herdbeast pens any day.”
Thankfully enough the walk to the Hatching Caverns did not take long, having been the closest place to them from their parting point. Inside loomed the pale figure of the ruling queen, nestled around her clutch, while a dragonlenght or so back lied the much darker bronze mate of hers; and sire of the current clutch. Nayzarette couldn’t help but marvel at the sight of both dragons, as well as the barely visible oval spheres that Issarith guarded so protectively from the safety and distance of the entrance to the sands.
She wasn’t particularly thrilled about the heat that wafted from them; though she did understand that it was needed in order to have the dragonets inside their eggs properly incubate.
”Wow...”
She couldn’t help but be at a lost for words; aside from the two drgons that had searched her and Rhodri – as well as the occasional glance at a far away dragon as they worked in their chores – this was a rare chance to see them still from such a distance. Not to mention that as gold and bronze, the two highest ranking colors in the drgon hierarchy, their size was certainly even more massive than what Nayzarette had been used to seeing so far.
These creatures were truly magnificent beasts...

J’ldaem of TseravithWeyrleader && Pyralis Wingleader From inside the caverns, not far away from the queen and her brod, the form of Tseravith stirred as his eye caught movement in the entrance to the Hatching Cavern. Carefully he raised his massive head, not wanting to disturb the resting Issarith not far away, as his whirling eyes trained themselves better on the three figures standing far away.
Mine, why are they here? [They?] Candidates.
The man over in his office arched an eyebrow in confusion and surprise at his dragon statement; a hand moving to scratch his head as he pondered for a moment. He was sure the Touching of the eggs would not be for at least a good sevendays or two more; so why then would they be...
”Oh, shards!”
Realization downing on the Weyrleader of Refuge J’ldaem couldn’t help but sigh in exasperation as he remembered S’nuo informing him a couple days ago about what he had planned for the old and new candidates. Something about going around meeting the higher ranked members of the Weyr to get the new ones acquaintance; as well as refreshing the memory of the old ones.
[It’s alright you beast, it’s S’nuo’s exercise. They’re to meet us and others of the Weyr to get them bettle settled in. I hear we have quite a turn up of northerner candidates for your clutch.] Why are they here, though? [They probably thought me or Sakorai would be found more commonly around the sands.] Hmph [Behave, just let them know they are not allowed to come any further in from the cavern’s entrance. Not unless Sakorai or Issarith gives them permission.]
Though he could feel his dragon’s discontentment still J’ldaem was pleased to see Tseravith followed instructions; the bronze training his mental focus on the three girls before he delivered a simple order. You may be here; but not further from where you stand now unless Issarith wills it. Weyrleader J’ldaem is on his way as well. That said his head returned once more to rest against the warm sands, though the whirling eyes never unfocused from the girls. Meanwhile his rider had already exited his office, hastily making his way towards the Hatching Caverns as best he could without exerting himself too much. After all he had an appearance to keep as the leader of this place, along with Sakorai of course, and he simply had to look his best if there were any new candidates in the bunch. Nothing like looking magnificent and impressive on your first meeting after all, J’ldaem lived to make perfect first impressions. It didn’t took him too long to arrive there, a charming smile playing on his lips as a fluid motion of his head managed to toss the luscious dark chestnut bangs backwards. His vivid blue eyes seemed to shine with amusement as he noticed this group was all girls; probably some (or all) hoping to impress to a gold dragon in their future.
”Greetings, my ladies, I’m J’ldaem of bronze Tseravith; Weyrleader of Refuge as well as Wingleader of the Pyralis Wing.”

Sareen had been quiet as she followed along with the other girls and noticed how they seemed to take the lead. She would let them take the lead in this situation as they seemed to know what they we're doing. When they approached the hatching grounds she was taken in by the large caverns and then noticed a male figure coming towards them. The weyrleader came up to greet them and she smiled politely towards him. She hadn't really been introduced before and figured that the weyrleaders had more important things to do then meet every new candidate that arrived.
Her eyes went to take in his handsome appearance and smiled as she just did a once over. Sareen had hope that in this clutch of dragons would hold her life mate and just remained quiet as the others continued to talk. A smile on her face was apparent as she relaxed a bit got used to the presence of the dragons. It was hard to imagine that people actually rode on them and couldn't imagine riding one. If she didn't impress this time the young woman wondered what she would do and had a horrible thought of being forced to return north. It wouldn't happen she had practical skills of trading and farming to fall back on. Sareen would make a life in the south even if it wasn't as a dragon rider.

NayzaretteNortherner Candidate You may be here; but not further from where you stand now unless Issarith wills it. Weyrleader J’ldaem is on his way as well.
A dragon... that had been a dragon’s speech! At first the lightest of gasps had left the northerner’s vocals as the foreign mental presence invaded her head for the shortest of seconds; delivering his message quickly and precisely before retreating out of her mind, as if he had never been there to begin with. Her eyes, wide from the surprise as well as the excitement of the moment, had quickly moved to glance at the massive (compared to the Blues that had searched her and Rhodri) metallic hued creature lying further in the sands with his golden mate.
He was gorgeous, as well as Issarith and her clutch. The whole specie was simply perfection incarnated to Nayza; she could never tire of watching them, even if they weren’t exactly doing much at the time. Majestic creatures more than glad to aid protecting Pern and its inhabitants from the menace of Thread and the Red Star; wise and caring creatures that did not war with one another, did not let frivolous things corrupt their essence; creatures just as varied in personality as her and any other human being; creatures willing to love their lifemate unconditionally, without pretense or attached strings.
She admired dragons, and she couldn’t help but envy their perfection a bit as well.
As a figure was soon making its way towards them, easily distinguishable as a male, the Keroon Hold born lass realized this was the Weyrleader of Refuge coming to meet them; placing them one step further to completing the task assigned by their Candidate Master S’nuo. The rumors were definitely true, it would seem, the man that strode confidently to meet them was quite handsomely stunning in his own right; though Nayza had noticed Refuge Weyr wasn’t exactly lacking men in that department. Compared to the options back North, well, the young lass couldn’t really complain with all the provided eye candy to be honest.
As the current Weyrleader reached them Nayzarette smiled in return, giving a light nod of her head in greetings as she waited for her two other companions. She did not wish to come out as pushy, or overbearing, the brunette was more than willing to give them a chance to perhaps try and take the lead themselves. No such thing came to happen however as the silence begun to stretch; and quickly Nayzarette moved to fit in the missing role of a leader in their little group once more.
”It’s our pleasure to meet you, Weyrleader; as well as your bonded Tseravith and his mate, queen Issarith. I’m Nayzarette; originally from Keroon Hold in the North and currently a candidate here at your Weyr.”
Now in closer proximity she gave a more courtly and respectful bow to the man, watching the amused glimmer in his eyes as he regarded their group. A charming smile always seemed to be present in his features; making the man seem rather welcoming and inviting. It was something Nayzarette found to her liking, she had never been much too fond of leaders who acted like everyone else was below them. The North had plenty of those, and nothing good ever came out of them for their people.

J’ldaem of TseravithWeyrleader && Pyralis Wingleader There was nothing the man appreciated more than being looked over; especially by young women. It made J’ldaem feel that he was just the right hot stuff he believed himself to be, and as he caught Sareen give him a once over the man winked charmingly in her direction.
Mine, remember these are Candidates [I know, love, I’m not going to bed them. Even I know the rules of conduct you wherrybrained beast.] I would hope so my J’ldaem; I will not lose a single Candidate to such foolish primal urges.
Mentally the man gave a scoff at his bronze, over the last sevendays as Issarith’s clutch hardened on the sands he had slowly become more and more... irritating? The man wasn’t sure he could find a proper word to describe it, but J’ldaem sometimes swore the sire of the clutch seemed more broody than the pale queen herself.
The initial silent gasp that had transpired between himself and the girls after his greeting was something J’ldaem was not fond of, the man waiting a few more moments to see if the status of things would change. Finally he had been considering stepping in once more, perhaps these candidates were simply shy or something akin to that trait, but just then one of the girls finally piped up. Introducing herself as Nayzarette, from Keroon Hold in the North no less, the man nodded in return to acknowledge her greeting before looking at the others.
He would give them one more chance to also introduce themselves to him; that same charming smile still present on his lips.

Trelia saw the exchange between the weyrleader and the other girls. She almost had to roll her eyes and said, "My name is Trelia,". The young woman was not one to go around flirting with random guys even if they we're the weyrleader. He was a handsome man and that was as far as her thoughts would go. "I'm a candidate as well," said Trelia as she noticed how Sareen's eyes seemed to linger on the weyrleader. She was no doubt checking him out and just thought what a perfect future green rider. It seemed that the girl only had one thing on her mind and that made her perfect as a green rider. The green riders we're know for their behavior and she hoped not to be one of those. She had a personal preference for a gold dragon egg and knew that most of the other girls shared this desire.
If she had to then a blue dragon would satisfy her as they we're known for going to only exceptional women. A blue dragon would settle her desires and would prove to make her special. She would be able to hold her head up high and not have to admit that she kept failing to impress. The candidate hoped that this queen in front of her would provide them with their life mates and if not there was the other queens. If she had to wait for Elynth then there would be more waiting and doubt.
............................................................................................... Sareen was checking out the weyrleader and then broke through her staring when the other girl spoke. She just introduced herself and heard that this girl had already stood a few times. The girl smiled for a moment then said, "I'm Sareen and I'm also from the North,". Her eyes lingered for a moment again then said, "We'll all be standing for your dragon's clutch,". Her desire to impress was great and she would be happy with impressing a green dragon. She just wanted to fly on dragon back and be something besides a trader.
The young woman looked forward to mating flights unlike many of the other girls. She'd heard in the barracks how dragon flights made one give into their feelings. Sareen had plenty of experience back on the road and it didn't effect her greatly to have many partners. A dreaded thought of impressing a blue dragon caught her off guard because then she might be with a woman. It was not something that Sareen wanted to endure however when a dragon was involved anything and probably could happen. The young woman would do what was necessary to make her dragon happy and she waited for the weyrleader to say something more.
