It was a good game to get to know each other however it seemed that it was just a exercise till they got to the real work. She knew that when it came to training with their new dragons that's if they even impressed they had to be comfortable with their classmates. Trelia didn't really care for her fellow classmates as she was excited to get to the eggs however they had to listen to S'nuo in order to get to them. While her weight was still against the wall and a posture that showed that she'd done this before a few times. It was mostly for the new candidates who didn't really know much about the weyr or way of life.
Trelia listened to their statements as they continued on with the game and was quiet as first Ralean followed by one of the new girls. Her only thought on the subject was that this girl was competition to impressing a egg as all the newcomers happened to be. When her name was said by Therion then she responded with, "I'm Trelia and I'm 16 turns,". The young woman made sure to have herself stand up straight as she showed her respect to classmates. "I'm originally from a farm cot hold and have five older siblings," said Trelia as she eyed around the room for the next person to go. Her eyes rested on her friend Shamara and said, "Shamara," as this was one of the first girls that had she had gotten along with when being here.

Shammy was glad that the new girl had chose to sit wit her and Tishu. She listened as others went first in their introductions. She smiled when Trelia went but was surprised that the girl picked her to go next. This was fun.
Standing up she looked around the room before starting. "Hi, my name is Shamara, my friends call me Shammy. I was searched at the Harper Hall, I love to sing but I'm not very good at it." She said smiling. She looked around once more and spotted who she would choose. "Keithemar" she said before sitting down again.

Kethemar quirked a smile at Shamara, she'd been, by far, the most helpful person in the Weyr since he'd arrived. Not only that, but he found it easy to talk to the girl and thought that they would probably be friends even after Candidacy. He was a little puzzled though as Shamara hadn't tried to pick out if Trelia had told a lie and a truth. With a shrug, he decided to do as the Candidatemaster had instructed regardless.
"Hello," his voice was easy-going and smooth, his hands in his pocket as he surveyed the room. Kethemar simply wasn't a person to be very nervous and he was always confident in himself.
"My name is Kethemar and I'm from Tillek, I was a fishercrafter there and I'm an only child." He felt it was a fairly easy lie to detect, but he always hated these icebreaker type deals, which was probably why he'd always skipped out on meetings like these back home.
Taking his seat, Kethemar spoke the only other name that he knew, "Tishu, you're up." He'd met the girl briefly during one of his lunches in the Dining Cavern. She'd been nice enough and not nearly as self-centered as some of the other female candidates he'd met.

Tishu stood up looking around a bit she replied. "Hi I'm Tishu, I'm from Karoon and I have several brothers. I was responcible for runners." she said with a grin. "If I remember right, Kethemar is a fishercrafter person, and he is NOT the only child. Shammy was searched at the Harperhall, and she DOES sing like a bird." she said. Looking around for her next subject spotting someone she had briefly met, "Sareen you're up." She said sitting down.
She didn't know why Shammy or Kethemar didn't say anything about the lie and she hoped she wasn't in trouble for mentioning them both. Mentally shrugging, she waited to learn more about the people in the room. This was proving fun even if some weren't happy about it.

Sareen stood up as her name was called then said, "My name is Sareen and I'm sixteen turns," as her hands by her side we're sweating due to her nervousness. She wasn't fond of large crowds of people especially when they we're strangers and then said, "I think that Tishu is from Keroon however she doesn't have any brothers." When she tried to think of a interesting fact about herself she was starting to draw a blank then said, "I used to travel with my family selling goods and my parents died when thread had fallen,". It was a rare thing it seemed here to loose family to thread and she wondered if the southern candidates knew how lucky they we're to never have experienced it. Her eyes wandered till they we're on Thoran and said, "Thoran your next," as she sat down.

For the most part Thoran had been more than happy to sit and relax somewhat as the lesson took a rather slow and easy going start. S’nuo’s game, while a bit odd (and boring, by the impatient glances of Hinuk) was something both boys welcomed; even if they didn’t showed it. Since their official arrival into candidacy they had been swamped with chores and tasks to do – actually being an afternoon in a classroom guessing which statement was true or false from random strangers was more than okay by Thoran’s standards. It gave them a chance to relax more.
It hadn’t been until a voice called out his name that the dark skinned lad turned to look at the unknown candidate, tilting his head to the side ever so slightly as he wondered how she seemed to be so sure that was his name (or how she had found out at all) before a mental shrug was given. He just barely remembered the statements of Sareen; though the boy couldn’t say he was quite pleased to be bombarded with them; mainly her statement about thread. If it were to be true, and he called it out as false, the boy feared inuring the girl’s feeling somewhat; on the other hand if that was indeed the false statement Thoran couldn’t help but feel mildly insulted. Why would anyone joke around with thread in that manner after all?
”Um... I’m going to guess your first statement is false?” While there wasn’t much confidence behind the voice it wasn’t due to shyness, though while Thoran was sure he had concealed his mild anger somewhat a glance from Hinuk let the boy know his best friend had quite the talent to pick up on the smaller details in life. Thoran just terribly hoped he was right, and that Sareen had not been using thread to joke around in such a manner.
”My name is Thoran, and I’m thirteen turns old. I was born in Haven Weyr, and Hinuk is my brother.” He could faintly hear the faint snickering behind him, having stood and walked a pace or two in front of Hinuk to introduce himself, the blond child behind him clearly amused by Dash’s choices. While it was true that they weren’t blood brothers it was no secret around the Refuge Weyr locals that D’seus had basically officially adopted the dark skinned boy shortly after his father had died in the last encounter with the Holdless – effectively actually making both boys brothers now. Keeping in mind this detail Thoran scanned the room before spotting an older lad besides the brunette that had introduced herself earlier in the game, specifically on Rhodri that was standing besides her.
”I choose the lad besides Nayzarette; sorry that I don’t know your name yet man.”

Class thus far was proving to be interesting. He figured a few of the others were in his and Nayza’s positions where they knew practically no one at the Weyr. Rhodri found that S’nuo’s tone of voice and demeanor were exactly what he expected of a Candidate Master. The man was a level headed sort from the looks of him. He doubted he would need to be in his office much for any sort of unseemly behavior but if he should, Rhodri expected the man would be firm but not unkind. Looking around the room again he still found the youngest of the boys to be a bit younger than he was expecting. Did they need Candidates so badly they allowed mere children to stand? He was brought out of his thoughts on Candidate age by the game presented to them. Observation was going to be key in this game, Rhodri realized immediately after the introductions began. It was not so much about what made sense because in all honesty, he knew little to nothing about the other people gathered for this lesson. There was a difference in tone of voice, a slight inflection or a hesitance before speaking when people lied. Facial expressions changed ever so slightly as well as posture or stance. Each person lied differently but he could tell with almost all of them which was true and which was a lie simply by watching them as they spoke. He did not have to understand the content.
The young boy was addressing him after all the interesting looks, he saw why people would think the blonde was not his brother. “I’ll remedy that shortly.” He addressed the dark skinned boy, while pausing just a moment before he decided for sure which the lie was. “I know very little about the Weyrs but it seems to me both statements are true on some level. There was little hesitation or inflection in your voice to suggest otherwise. Taking into consideration the two of you do not seem related the second must be less true than the first.” He was reasoning his way through and while he probably need not have used his logic out loud being an outsider meant he had nothing else to go on.
“My name is Rhodri, formerly of Keroon and I’m seventeen Turns old.” He knew whatever he said the others would figure out but he did want to make it a little challenging. Nayza would know the answer straight away but the others might have to think for a moment. “I’m glad I finally get to have some time away from family and my favorite time of day is dusk.” Neither was incredibly personal but Rhodri did not consider himself an open record. He took his time getting to know and trusting people. In many ways he was not so different than the runners he trained.
Rhodri looked around the room and made a decision based on who interested him the most. He knew very few people in the class so he had no choice but to physically point out whom he wanted to go next' Rhodri pointed to the smallest boy in the room. “Sorry, I don’t know any of the names of the people left so if you would be so kind.” He gestured for Tschermak to talk next. Earlier Rhodri had been looking at the younger boys as a whole but the brunette seemed the least ready to stand. They all had to come out of their comfort zone a little in these games. Rhodri would have been more than happy to stand back and observe everyone else. Still this was a useful tool to learn other people’s names.

Tschermak had been listening to each candidate in turn, memorizing each face and name carefully – at least those he did not already know well from watching them go about their daily lives at the Weyr. The Northern Candidates had his attention best and when a particularly tall one with messy brown hair motioned toward the smallest boy in the room, it made Tschermak literally jump. Pointing to his own chest with his mouth slightly agape, he shrugged off the surprise quickly and tried to not look so startled as he quickly put forth his answer. “I…” he began, hesitating with a quick look around the room, his voice catching in his throat just a moment when he realized how many eyes were actually on him, not looking past him. “I can’t imagine someone who could not be homesick of their family when they are so far away, so I think the true statement is that your favorite time of day is Dusk, Rhodri.” He finally managed to answer, using the boys name in the answer to help him better remember it. “My name is Tschermak and I… I think I’m about 14 turns old.” He said, his voice growing softer as he muttered out the age that the crèche ladies guessed him at – nobody ever bothering to remember his actual birthing day, before he spoke up again, a little more loudly so all those eyes looking at him and leaving wherry-bumps on his skin would hear him clearly. “I am standing as a candidate for the first time this turn.” He stated, knowing that it would be obvious enough for anyone who knew that candidates tended to be older before adding on his false statement. “And I have a green firelizard as a pet.” With his false statement, his eyes met Hinuk’s before dropping to the floor quickly. He was actually ashamed of needing to tell a lie, and it was almost embarrassing that he would use the other Weyrbrat’s own pet as food for such a lie. Refusing to meet the larger and more popular boy’s gaze again, he slinked quickly back toward the wall. “Hinuk, you can go next if you’d like…”

So far the game had been quite boring for the blond lad, the youth rolling his eyes here or there at some of the more uncreative lies; and at one point even releasing a yawn. He’d even gone as far as to pop one of the few meatrolls the boys had taken from the caverns, biting into it to relieve his boredom by doing something; when the lad almost chocked upon hearing Tschermak’s choice for a lie. Coughing loudly at the mention of the green flitter he managed to dislodge the offending piece stuck in his throat before swallowing, arching a blond eyebrow high as his blue eyes stared at the weyrbrats dumbfounded.
”Really?”
The blunt comment was out before the boy even thought about it, Hinuk had never been one to hold his tongue and comments back after all, before he turned to the green flitter with a faint glare. ”Shrieker, get your ass here.” The green gave a small hiss in return, though still did as commanded as the young creature flittered her way over to the boy’s shoulder; straying off course to the right ever so slightly now and then and fighting to correct her flight path along the way. Landing she made to nip at his ear once more (certainly not in a playful way) but Hinuk was already ready as he shoved the remaining of his roll into her gapping maw. That should keep her busy for now. Lie exposed he now turned to the rest of the room, posture confidence as he introduced himself.
“I’m Hinuk, thirteen turns old. Leader of the Brat Pack, and J’ldaem’s my father.”
He made a point of choosing a certainly obvious lie, though for those not acquainted to the Weyr and her inhabitants they might have thought he had been telling the truth about his father. Hinuk just wanted to get this over with already and move to the (hopefully) better parts of the class today. So far this was more than boring, he was sure even in the crèche they had done more interesting things than this. His gaze fell on the sole male that had yet to present himself, and with a nod signaled that it was finally Quelas’ turn.

Quelas smiled at the young Hinuk because he could remember his own days as a weyr brat and then stood up to began his introduction. He was already well known with the weyrbrates and the older candidates who had been at the weyr for a while. The young man was known for standing for clutches and not impressing. While he was embarrassed with the fact it made him even more determined to impress this time. "My name is Quelas and I'm sixteen turns old," said Quelas as he was happy to go last as he had gathered his confidence by this time. "I'm the son of a brown rider and I love to go swimming," said Quelas as he looked around the room at the others.
It was a well known that A'ro was his father however since there was no one else to call on he stopped. He wanted to impress a brown with chocolate coloring like his father's dragon more then anything. His heart still held some fear however because of the way his father had died. Quelas feared that history might repeat itself and he'd be left dragon less. The young man sat back down to wait for the lesson to continue and eyed what he presumed was his competition.

Watching the Candidates go through those who knew each other and those who did not, it was interesting to see how most in the room were connected to another by at least a name. Standing up, he finally nodded to the class and picked up four separate scrolls, lifting one up in the air. “Now growing up in the Weyr, I know many of you know your queen riders and weyrleaders by name, if not by sight as well. That does not mean you’ve had the chance to speak with them. I also know that many of you are from the North, probably don’t know their name or what they look like, so I’m going to split the class into groups to play on strengths and weaknesses.” “On each scroll has a list of tasks that I want everyone to complete within the next two days after you are done with your chores. As soon as your group finishes the tasks, bring the scrolls back to me and we will get you fitted for your robes for the hatching.” “Nayzatte, Trelia and Sareen, come up and get a scroll, you three will be working together.” He said, holding out the first scroll. “ Quelas, Kethemar and Tishu, you three will be working together.” “ Tschermak, Therion and Rhodri will make up the third team.” Pausing he looked at the last four (player) candidates. “And then that leaves Raelan, Shamara, Hinuk and Thoran to work together.” “Go.” He said, with a dismissive wave of his hand, though on his lips was a smile. Please start a new thread for each group so that your individual threads will move a little faster than one massive candidate thread.
