The land was said to be forsaken when the ship first arrived. Hopes for a new life sunk, people began to wonder if this barren land would be suitable for a long life, a thriving society. The peoples of the separate races didn’t get along, so they fanned out to avoid any conflict.
Five kingdoms arose from the various races long ago. Jysperia was what the humans called their society, named after their first ruler. Valspara, a wooded area, was claimed by the Elves. Closest the the ocean, they had access to the fish and other wildlife. The dwarves headed for the mountains, claiming the valuable minerals and ore that could be claimed there. Soon after, the shape shifters took hold of an area similar to that of the Elves, a separate area of the woods. This area is nestled snugly near the mountains, giving the shifters access to many caves. Last, a group of half-breeds set out and got stuck with a rugged region, with high plateaus, low lakes, and the desert. Luckily for them, they stumbled upon a cave, befriended a dragon, and each were gifted with eggs. Thereafter, they were known simply as the Dragon Riders.
After some years, they realized they needed other materials to survive and flourish properly. This brought about a new, smaller settlement, Hopskil. Hopskil is also under human control, the King’s minister. A holy man, he believes in the bringing about of religion to the other races. The human’s religion, of course. He’s using the benefit of trade being needed to try to convert others.
Over the course of the next two-hundred years, the other races have grown tired of the human’s practices being forced upon them while they are in Hopskil. Small trade groups are beginning to get dispatched to avoid the city. Once the minister caught word of this, he went and immediately reported the news to the king.
Infuriated that they would refuse his ideas, the human king began sending out his own soldiers to find these groups of traders. To end their business, killing them is need be. The leader of the Shifters was one of the first to catch air of this, and he has made his decision. Waging a war with the human society, he has chosen to attack and try to capture Hopskil.
This leaves the other races with a choice. Help the Shifters and capture Hopskil, creating an unbreakable alliance and slaughtering the issue of religion, or keep to themselves. The humans are by far the most plentiful race, though with the aid of all the other races, there should be no issue fighting them off.
Torn between the choices and each with their own conflicts, the races don’t know what to do. They haven’t the slightest clue what destiny may bring.
A Daunting Destiny awaits. Enter now.
