Shammy was headed back from doing chores in the barns when she heard Issarith bellow her challange to the Weyr. She could have sworn the ground shook. Such a loud voice from such a small dragon. It didn't startle her, it excited her. At last a Queen to rise, that meant a clutching soon. Jumping up and down excitedly and clapping, she headed toward the feeding pens and the closest shelter so she could watch the flight.
Some day she would be doing this same thing, of course it depended on what color chose her for their own. She watched as they took off and headed for the skies. When the pale Issarith dove under the leaping Achilleth, Shammy gasped as the queens wing tips grazed the ground before she headed almost straight up.
She giggled a bit at the look on the poor bronzes face as he looked like a humped up tunnel cat trying to stay out of her way. The rest was a site to see, a rainbow of bronze, brown and blue headed for the sky doing their best to catch the shining Gold.
She moved over under a different over hang out of the weather so she could watch easier. She noticed a few of her fellow candidates coming to watch too. Ohhhh, how exciting this was. YES YES YES!!!

K'dan was lounging in his Weyr it was a rare day with nothing important to do. He was aware that Osirith was out on his ledge in the rain. He was intently watching the goings on, something he did from time to time.
Issarith Rises! [/b] The blue alerted his rider.
Are you going to give chase Rith? K'dan asked as he headed up toward the ledge entrance. He grabbed a leather coat that was treated to keep most of the rain off, and stepped out to look down on the feeding pens.
No, I will not chase mykdan, this is for the bronzes and browns. It is for the weyr. I will not interfere with this one. the egyption blue stretched out a wing so his rider could stand under it and stay pretty dry.
Patting the blue just under his wing, K'dan was grateful for the lack of water hitting him. From their perch they watched the flight as it happened. They both chuckled a bit at Achilleth when Issarith dove under him when they took off. This was going to be one interesting flight. He wondered how it would turn out.

T'mar was mending a shirt, something he hated to do. he wasn't very good at it and he kept poking his fingers. "OUCH!" was heard every once in awhile. Petroth was snoozing on his couch, it was a fitful kind of sleep.
A loud bugle from the feeding grounds made them both jump. T'mar stabbing his finger hard with the needle he was holding. "OUCH! SHARDS that HURT!" He yelled as he stuck the hurt finger into his mouth.
Petroth all most fell off his couch, he gave a loud SNORT as he spred his wings for balance. Issarith Rises Mine. Are you ok? Do you need a healer?
I'm fine Pet, but the needle hurt, and I won't need a healer. Do you want to watch the flight?[/i] He asked as he headed for the twin blue, his finger still in his mouth.
Together the pair headed out to watch the flight, he noticed there were several others doing the same thing.

Aisynn and Shivath had just come in from another sweep ride. they were both soaked, more the greens rider then the green. They had seen the gold in the feeding pens bleeding her kill and were anxious to get out of the path of the pending flight.
They landed on their ledge just in time. Aisynn had just hung up Shivath's riding straps to dry, when Issarith roared her challange to the Weyr. Together the pair walked out onto the ledge and back into the rain to watch.
It's Issarith. Good timing, we needed a Gold to rise. The pretty green informed her rider. Not that she really needed to, it was easy to tell by the size and color.
Nodding in agreement, Aisynn walked under her dragons neck between her front legs and stood pretty much out of the rain. This was good, very good.
