Appearance
From birth Nayzarette has always been the runt of the pack, usually a good feet or so below the height of most children of her age. While at first it was something that irritated the lass as a small child slowly she has come to term with it all – especially since her father assures her she won’t remain that little forever. At fourteen, and barely reaching the 5’ mark in the height scale, the girl finds solace in her unusually long legs. According to her papa they’re clear signs that she’ll one day outgrow many of the other girls, who’ve already had their growth spur now. She’s barely reached adolescence finally, along with the mark of womanhood less than a turn ago, and so the girl is plenty sure that her time to shine is coming right around the corner, any time now.
A very active child since little, and through turns of running and bouncing all around Keroon Hold, her build is slimmed out and petite, her bones not holding much meat but just enough to not give her a sickly skinny look. She’s well toned, especially around her buttocks and legs, and the brunette takes great pride in her agility, speed and foot work. Currently she graces the scales at a mere ninety-three pounds, a bit underweight still for one of her age. More often than not she’s heard the jokes about being “light as a wherry’s feather” and “careful you don’t get blown away by a dragon’s wing gust!” Her father tells her not to worry about it one bit though; so long as she’s healthy and eating right she’ll be fine, even if her high metabolism just virtually obliterates food faster than she can consume it sometimes.
As previously mentioned when one compares Nayza’s torso to leg ratio it’s noticeable that the girl has slightly longer than usual legs. Well formed and toned from turns of exercising they gave her some problem at first as a child, making the young girl a bit accident prone in her first few turns of using them. Soon however she became quite agile and adept at them, and Nayza prides herself most of all in her ability to race and her graceful strides. While her singing might be average, at best, the girl has a knack for movement and grace; something that convinced her father to have her learn and apprentice with some of the Harpers in Keroon Hold, even through her original disdain at not apprenticing under himself for the BeastCraft.
Moving on to the rest of her body Nayza’s skin is neither pale nor tanned naturally, but a healthy pink shade. While she can get slightly red from sunburns her skin isn’t a stranger to tanning through the summer months in the North, and turns of outdoors activity usually give the girl a more southern color during these hot months. However, through the cold of winter, and now the constant Threadfall, the luxury of the outdoors is something that’s less and less available with each day, by now her skin returning to it’s more original shade. It’s often soft to the touch, speckled around the shoulders and the bridge of her nose with faint freckles from constant sun exposure. Her hair, meanwhile, is a nice brown color; naturally wavy and smooth. Nayzarette has always been quite fond of her hair, and almost as prideful about it as her legs, especially since it always falls in any way she desires with little trouble. It’ll usually be in its more normal form; loose and curly at the tips. Not uncommon she’ll sometimes have it entangled with some pretty little clips she’s managed to create with the help of her father from various nature related objects she usually brings back from her adventuring excursions. It can and will often be found strung into a high pony tail, however, whenever Nayza is out exercising or doing any form of outdoor activity.
When it comes to the dressing code Nayzarette follows a simple yet very important rule: wear what’s right, or required, for the occasion; and never overdress. She doesn’t restrict herself to one type of style or clothing: the girl can be found sporting a pretty little dress or a nice skirt and blouse just as well as she could be found wearing torn and mucked up trousers and a simple shirt. Once more, it all depends on what the activities of that day demand for, or the chores she might be doing at the time. Young and still eager to see and learn more of the world Nayza isn’t the queasy type of girl, and has no reservations about getting down and dirty if needed; so long as it means she can complete whatever she set out to do successfully. More often than not she’ll be found wearing simple tunics or shirts along with trousers or shorts, though an almost fixed daily shoe wear of her are the pair of wherhide boots she owns. They’re well taken care of and groomed, through turns of use have still managed to warn them out somewhat.
When it comes to color combinations Nayza has a preference for natural shades: golden and brown tones, along with pastel or flowery shades. She isn’t adverse to wearing new and more bold combinations however, so long as they don’t clash outrageously with herself. Some colors just simply don’t look good in some people. A leather pouch that straps across her chest as well as her waist is almost always kept with her; a gift from her father many turns ago. Likewise a pair of golden bangles, a memento and a family heirloom from her mother, are always present on her right wrist. They’re thin though sturdy, with a slightly more square-ish shape than the usual circular pattern found in most. The girl taking excellent care of both items as they are, without a doubt, her most prized possessions.
Personality
A straight-forward and direct person Nayza’s the type of girl that doesn’t enjoy beating around the bushes when she’s looking for answers. She likes things clear and precise, preferring to head-up confront whatever task or person she needs in order to find out the answers she seeks. Not one for rumors and gossip she often dismisses them all as un-important matters – she won’t believe either of those things unless they come out of the person in question’s own lips. It was this main reason that flustered the girl when she found herself falling in love with old dragonsong stories – for without real proof presented forth the girl didn’t believe dragons and their riders existed anymore in Pern; and yet she found herself fantasizing more and more about them as the turns went on.
Nayza’s eyes are, much like the saying goes, the “windows to her soul.” While the girl is composed and skillful enough to tell a lie and not rat herself out, most of the time, she finds it hard to fool those that know her well enough to know for what traces and signs to be on the look-out. Still the girl isn’t one that prefers lying, and so more often than not it’s this fact that allows her to go under the radar, undetected – and usually when she lies they’re all mostly “white lies” as people call them.
While perhaps not easily noticeable Nayzarette is quite emotional – meaning that she tends to take things a bit more seriously than many people. While some might brush of jokes or "rude' comments, the girl can take a huge offense by some of them -- and feel deeply wounded. Not to be a surprise, many a times she has become injured by remarks that were meant as simple jokes in her younger Turns. She has learned to control such habits however -- and does a better job to brush off things without placing too much thought into them, or takes the direct approach to clear all confusion away. She’s not a stranger to confronting people in order to find the real truth, even if the information at the end might wound her. Another thing she has worked on since her younger years is her rebellious streak -- though she's far from following orders blindly without questioning their origin. If it's something she considers to clash with her believes and moral sense of right and wrong she will question and research further before making a final decision on which side she'll stand.
When it comes to really important matters Nayza has taken the habit of bottling things up inside most of the time, and taking the load herself. While certainly not a healthy thing to do, and aware of this fact, the girl just doesn't want to be an extra burden on others if she can avoid it. A very independent soul Nayzarette dislikes needing to rely on others for her needs, though she usually tries not to bite off more than she can chew. This habit usually has lead to rather strong breakdowns in the past, though even these are rarely shared with the public but instead with people she considers close to her heart. Still, it is her determination that makes her keep going even when she stumbles, though every now and again a good and well aimed and hard push in the right direction is needed. Another trait is her impatience – and the main reason why Nayza seemed to have trouble learning to draw in the past. You need patience for that, far more than the one people expect. It isn't unusual to hear her complain and abandon her work for a few sevendays, before returning later and pick up where she left. If there's one thing her father thought her it is to not be a quitter. Over the turns she has managed to refine her drawing skills into decent levels, though she still has a long way to go and much to learn.
Finally, a brief glimpse on the girl's sexuality: she's certain about her affinity, Nayza likes men. Period. Neither is she a stranger to being courted and coveted in the past, though the girl has always held her ground and place. She doesn’t mind flirting, in fact she welcomes it fully, though the girl is not about to go around sleeping with every male she finds attractive any time soon. She views this as the ultimate expression of love one can give to another being, and considering he has yet to come across a male that invokes such feelings and passion in her the girl has remained in a chastity vow of sorts. Besides, she’s not too interest in the usual woman life of settling down and having children, Nayza’s thirst for knowledge and new experiences make her abhor such a dull and boring future for her life.
With the recent and unexpected events these past months, the girl has found herself with an old dream strengthened over a tenfold. Thread has once more come to plague Pern, and amidst the chaos and death an old legend she had believed to not exist has reappeared once more. Dragons and their riders have come and protected Keroon Hold from the last Threadfall, and Nayza finds herself completely enraptured and attracted to this new possible lifestyle. The past sevendays have been spent researching hides and scrolls she’s been allowed to glimpse for more information about them, though the lack of such knowledge infuriates the young girl.
She wants to know more about them, their lifestyle. But most of all she wants to learn more about their magnificent beasts... She wants to learn more about dragons.

History
Drezo was the first born and only male child his parents’ union ever produced. Older than his siblings by at least twelve turns the young lad had all the time in the world to be raised by his father. Through helping the older man around Drezo slowly begun to show-off his talent not only to handle beasts and their injuries, but his thirst for knowledge and creative inventions soon earned him the eyes of many. Pulling most of their resources together Revelier made sure his son could go and be a proper apprenticed at the BeastCraft, and it was no surprise that the lad graduated a turn earlier than most in his age group, but how efficient and quickly he started to gain favor among his craftmates.
Of course, this meant the man almost had no life aside from his work, and so he remained at his family’s home to aid around instead.
It was there where he met the on who would become the love of his life, the best friend of his younger sister. Charming and witty, and certainly not bad looking, Nainette had managed to whisk the much older man’s heart away before he fully realized it. While hesitant at first, mostly due to the age difference, it wasn’t long until he finally confessed to young Nainette, and much to his pleasant surprise he found the young gal felt the same way. Their marriage was simple, and soon after young Nai found herself heavy with her first child. The pregnancy was hard and complicated right from the start, though in the end both the young mother and her child managed to pull through. In the winter season, fourteen turns ago, Nayzarette was delivered by Nainette into the world of Pern and her father’s loving arms.
The first few turns were mostly spent about the kitchens or at home, aiding wherever she could and sucking up knowledge like a sponge stored water. From the women in her extended family, especially her grandmamma Zoumir, Nayza learned many recipes, the procedure and steps to follow when preparing certain dishes, and many more working skills. And while it was sometimes hard to keep her interest long enough the girl provided to be quite the fast-learner, which only aided in helping her get distracted far more easier than most children her age. Active and ever curious it was Drezo the one who decided to have her informally apprentice under him when the girl reached eight turns of age, him and Nai having already decided to not have any more offspring many turns ago.
Unfortunately things don’t always go as planned, and a turn later Nainette found herself going through the pains of labor for a second time. Much like before the pregnancy was ridden and infested with complications from the start, and in the end Alzrin’s birth had the highest toll price on Nainette. The young woman managed to live on a few hours more after her son’s birth, lavishing him in attention and all the cares she already knew it would be impossible for her to provide him in a future. Drezo himself was torn between the joy of his first male born child, and the lost of the love of his life.
Nayzarette herself, still at a young age of nine turns on that fall night, resented the birth of Alzrin for a good few sevendays.
It wasn’t until many nights later, constantly woken up by the baby’s cries and watching her father do his best to juggle his job (and her apprenticeship) with the nurturing of small Alzrin (the man refused to give the babe away to another family) that Nayza herself slowly warmed up to her new brother. Stepping up she took the role of care-taker for Alzrin from her father, relinquishing her apprenticeship as she devoted her time to the young boy in order for her father to continue pursuing research and carrying out his craft. She was aided plenty by the rest of her family, as well as her father whenever the man could find any free time to spend with his beloved children, though it was still quite the life lesson for the young girl.
Not only did she learned that her brother was not at fault for her mother’s death, but she also learned how fail a life could be indeed. Constantly liking to please Alzrin she grew up the next turns seeking more and more knowledge in hides and scrolls, as well as learning the old legendary stories of dragons and threads to re-tell them at night to her baby brother. The more stories she found of them, however little and devoid of knowledge they were, the more the girl found herself falling in love with the idea of dragonriders – finding it hard to relinquish such a dream even though she knew they were but myths and legends and no more… until thread started falling.
While they have been lucky to not lose any family member to thread, sheltering over at Keroon Hold had been hard. It was here that Nayza continued re-telling the stories of dragons that she had managed to come across in writing, hoping to ease her brother’s worries as well as those of other young children, when one day the dragons of myths and legends suddenly materialized into the Thread infested skies over Keroon Hold. A fantasy made real, and in the flesh, it was all the girl could think about much after they were gone as well.
