Goo oozed from the broken Evil Eye Egg, but slowly some of the cracks started to grow. With all the excitement going on around the Brats, even Hinuk wouldn't notice right away that there were cracks forming over the rest of the eggs surface. A small shudder ran through the egg as the boy poked at it before flicks of shell started to break off at the bottom. The little flitter within wasn't dead but it was struggling to get out of its egg. Finally one clawed foot managed to kick away a chunk of the shell, scratching at the ground as it tried to free itself. As Hinuk helped to pull away parts of the shell, even he would realize quickly that something was wrong with the fire lizard. Its wings were twisted up and stuck out oddly around the small little body and once more of the flitter was free it was easy to tell that one of the wings had broken in the fall.

But the flitter was still alive. Mewling pitifully as it continued to struggle to get free and find food. But Hinuk was quick in breaking the rest of the shell away and and equally fast in opening the sack of meat next to him and pulling out a few of the smaller, bloody stripes. But instead of going after the meat put in front of her, the fire lizard went right for Hinuk's finger, biting down on it hard before letting go of the finger and going for the meat. Once she was done with the first peace, she let out an angry little scream, demanding more food and snapped her jaws at Hinuk in an effort to get him moving a little faster. The little green was hurt and hungry but she seemed to know exactly who had broken her egg and was not afraid to show how angry she was about that.

Description: This little flitter will never win any beauty contests. Her hide is a splotchy gray-green that gives her a sickly look. Gray circles frame her eyes, mimicking the markings on her egg and giving off the illusion that her eyes are far larger then they really are.

The green is all neck, tail and wings, her body looking undersized compared to the rest of her features. The drop that hatched her too early broke one of her wings as well and though it healed, her right wing bends at a funny angle that constantly makes her fly at a downward slop.

Personality: The green might be just a little angry at Hinuk for dropping her. Or really angry. She does not have the fun, flirty personality that greens are known for. In fact she’s more like a very angry feline trapped in a little flitter body. She does seem to be a bit smarter and craftier then other green fire lizards though, which isn’t a good thing for those she dislikes.

She’s also a biter, something that Hinuk has learned very well over time.

For all of her excitement over this heist, Karevel almost missed the moment when they actually started. She was too busy trying to think up what egg she would like the best (despite the fact she wasn't meant to be picking one) and started sprinting towards the clutch a few moments after the others. She could not run as fast as some of the others, with her shorter legs, but she was enjoying the moment so much that it hardly bothered her. She held the cloth Seirsha had given her tightly as she ran. Would this work at all? Karevel didn't know, but at the moment she hardly cared. She felt invincible, and was filled with the excitement of the moment. Even if she couldn't get away with a firelizard egg, she was having so much fun right now that it hardly mattered. Just running around crazily like this was all she really needed, the firelizards were just a bonus.

Orlai had evidently gone for the food, as Karevel saw the golden firelizard leave her clutch, if only for a sparse few moments, for the temptation of something good to eat. That was all they needed to reach her clutch. Karevel knew that Orlai would not be long in returning to guard her precious eggs, but when she reached the pile she couldn't help but halt and scan them. She'd promised that she wouldn't pick one out, but now that she was here, she found that she couldn't not pick one out, or at least, look through them and try to make a decision as quickly as she could. The others were hurrying back before she finally snatched one up, having had very little time to think about which one she wanted, but spending longer than if she'd simply taken one and run, but now she had an egg, and she was running with while giggling furiously. Now she was a bit behind the others, and Orlai was not happy with them.

Luckily, she was small, so when the golden firelizard dove after them Karevel managed to avoid most of her attacks, although the lizard did manage to scratch the back of one of her arms. She shrieked, perhaps a bit more than was necessary, and fumbled the egg she was holding, but luckily managed to hold onto it. She then managed to evade Orlai, and the firelizard was too intent on attacking all of them too mess with Karevel for too much longer, and she eventually just returned to the eggs she had left.

Once they were safely out of the way, Karevel peeked to get a closer look at the egg she had grabbed. It was green, and rather small. She quite liked the egg, but now that she thought about it, there had been some other ones she had liked more. She was a bit disappointed, as she would only have needed to look a little longer to grab the perfect one, but then Thoran had said she shouldn't look at all. And there wasn't anything wrong with this egg. She even liked it. It was quite pretty. Maybe she could keep the shell after the lizard inside hatched, although she wasn't entirely sure what she would do with it.

The only thing worse than having your children be in danger was knowing they were also making life harder for you. If Emera knew what was going down he could only imagine the trouble he would be in, seeing as he was responsible for both Hinuk and Thoran tonight. She might decide it would be better if the boys did not spend so much time with him. And despite D'seus being forgetful about when he was supposed to be watching them, he did like spending time with both boys.

By the time he made it to the Hatching Sands it was too late for him to do anything except watch Hinuk's gang escaping through a hole in the Hatching Cavern wall. He took a moment to catch his breath. Faranth, these boys were going to kill him! He was trying to stay out of the Headwoman's way at this point. There was nothing to say. It was neither his fault nor idea for the boys to do this however seeing as they should have been with him, he did feel a bit responsible. He would have to see to it they were punished and given extra chores with the beastcrafters tomorrow.

Zorometh, in the meantime had managed to save the day yet again. We are to go straight to my weyr and not leave until D'seus arrives. There was no hint of the playfulness the Bronze often took with the boys. He echoed his own rider's real concern and worry over the boys. The stern sound of the Bronze's voice was that of a father and no one dared go against the father voice.

At that moment Zorometh contacted Hinuk You are to report to my Weyr immediately. No stopping, no questions and you had better be here within a half a candlemark. He had done an excellent job relaying D'seus' message. Only then did D'seus address the Headwoman. "The boys are headed to my weyr. I'll deal with them personally. I apologize for their behavior." He added and then walked off in the direction of his weyr.

The girl felt extremely guilty after Emera walked away. Usually after a prank she felt a sort of accomplishment but Emera's words left her feeling rather empty. So she slowly made her way to the opening which the Brats should come back through at any moment. Seirsha took time to think about things and often internalized the worst of them so that outwardly she was strong. Her brave face was on, as usual and she forced a triumphany smile to her pink lips.

Any moment now Arrow, Fiddle, Mirage and Flitter would be coming through the hole in the wall, eggs in hand. Then all would be right in the world...or at least she would feel better about the whole thing. She would take excellent care of her flit. Of that she was certain. Seirsha wondered what egg she would have. Would it hold a green, blue, brown or Bronze? Not that color had ever really mattered to her. Any would mean she would be impressive to other Non-pack brats. She was about to become very very popular.
