T'mar went in search of the Weyrling Master, U'ski. He had fed and bathed Petroth, then worked on a boring assignment until the blue was sleeping soundly. He really wanted information and advice on what to do. Several times Petroth had made off hand comments on people he felt would be good rider material.
He didn't know if there was special training for that, or something he could help his dragon with. But he definately wanted the dark blue twin to be the best at everything he did. Wasn't T'mar himself searched by a blue? He thought that would be a wonderful thing to be when they were graduayed from weyrlinghood.
He found the Weyrlingmasters office easily, knocking on the door, he announced himself. "Weyrling Master U'ski, it is T'mar of twin blue Petroth requesting permission to talk to you for a moment if you have one.

Ah lesson planning. Not the most exciting job but a necessary one if he wanted lessons to go smoothly. He was busy looking through notes of the last Weyrling Master, getting ideas for how he wanted to do the next batch of lessons. He looked up at the knock on his door, scribbling down one last note to himself before he pushed his papers to the side. "Come on in T'mar, just working on some lessons for the next few weeks."
A quick and silent word with Toroth and U'ski at least knew that nothing was wrong with any of the young dragons. He gave the young rider a smile and gestured towards one of the empty chairs he had around his office. "Pull up a chair T'mar. I hope everything is going well for you an Petroth, I know the two of you are in a unique situation compared to the rest of the Weyrling. But how can I help you?"

T'mar entered the office. He took the offered seat and leaned forwards. "Thank you sir, we are fine. It is different I guess, but we are used to it. I guess that makes it normal for us?" he answered turning a bit red.
"I wanted to see you sir, because I'm not sure who else to talk to. You see, Petroth is telling me who he thinks is a good person to make a rider, and who isn't. I didn't know if there was something I needed to know or something I needed to do or if this is ok for him to be doing." T'mar finished in a rush.
He didn't know if it was something natural for a dragon to do, or should he discourage Petroth from this or just what. He found it kind of neat, and hoped it was something that was ok to do.

U’ski looked T’mar over before glancing off to the side as he conversed with his dragon for a moment. Petroth was a bit young to be displaying such talents but he was a unique dragon to start with. And really, there was no set time when a dragon started to show their talent for being a searcher.
“There’s no need to discourage Petroth from doing this. So long as he’s not being rude about it, no one wants to hear that they’d be a terrible rider. But if you can, start keeping a list of who Petroth says would and wouldn’t work as riders.” Rubbing his jaw for a moment, U’ski got up and started sorting through a handful of papers before pulling out the current list of Search Riders.
“Some blue and green dragons are born with the natural gift for searching people out. Let Petroth do his thing and start taking notes when you can. How often does he do it, does he just see a person and instantly know or does he have to be around them for a while?” Sitting back down U’ski went over the list. Hopefully Petroth truly was showing some skill at Searching, they needed more riders that could do that, especially if they were going to continue doing work in the North.
“I think I’ll rearrange some of the Weyrling lessons, we’ll get one in on Search Riders a little sooner now. But if you can make a list of people that Petroth has judged, we can have one of our current riders look into it a bit. With a little luck, Petroth will show some really skill with the ability. If that’s the case, then you’ll have the option of taking some special lessons to help both you and Petroth hone that skill and have the chance to join the ranks of the Search Riders.”

"I'll do that sir." T'mar said smiling. Thinking hard he was trying to remember just who besides Trelia, Petroth had mentioned would make riders. So far he didn't remember any he didn't like. "Treila was one that I can remember right off the top of my head. I don't recall any he didn't like. But I will start keeping track. Petroth is never rude, not even to, me" He answered.
He was glad that he was to incourage his blue to continue. Including searching in their classes was exciting too. Once they graduated it was one way he could help repay the weyr for everything they have done for him, and no Petroth too. "You want me to include those that another dragon said was good but Petroth says he don't think so?" T'mar asked. He didn't know if that would ever happen but he wanted to make sure. "He hasn't said anything like that, I just want to make sure in case he does." He asked hoping he didn't sound stupid.
