Megdela followed when Toyi lead her over to the other children. She was defiantly in a state of shock and disbelief cause of one of their own getting hurt so badly. She let the tears fall slowly down her cheek not even bothering to keep the in check as the shock and disbelief gave way to cold hard facts. Facts that weighted down her shoulders with the force of the grief she was beginning to feel.

Perhaps he had never thought as far ahead as Evelys had about one another, the idea of marriage and kids was still a bit too foreign for his boy-ish mind, but Thoran certainly cared deeply for the blond girl. He loved Evelys, there was no doubt in his mind, and to think he'd never see her again next to him... it tore his heart in half really. Just the thought was enough to bring fresh tears to his eyes the dark skinned lad wiping them off hurriedly as they reached Seirsha.
Mortiv's comment towards them especially wasn't missed -- though it wasn't welcomed either. Hinuk was already more than aware of how much this little adventure had costed them: he had lost his left hand, his right hand would probably be out of it for a good while due to Evelys being dead and all, and frankly it all weighted down on him much harder than he had ever expected. Not only was Evelys gone, but Seirsha was probably badly shaken as well (Bahari had even fainted, the poor caring lad he was) and no doubt all the other members of the brat pack were in different degrees of worry and mental trauma as well.
With an exasperated sigh Hinuk passed a hand through his hair, shaking away loose strands from his nad, as well as whatever sand had clung to his hand as well. While he'd always been proud of his little pack, and he was certain he cared for most (if not all) of its members, he hadn't realized how much a certain few were so deeply ingrained in him already. Evelys' death had been quite the wake up call -- and now as the healer admited he wasn't sure about Seirsha's head wound the male found himself silently praying to Faranth the girl would be fine.
Oh how he wished to suddenly wake up among his bedfurs, and that this whole ordeal was naught but a horrible dream...
"Hey Hinuk, Thoran." "Hey Seirsha." "Yeah, hey..." "Some adventure, huh?" "You could say that..."
While Hinuk made his best effort to keep the conversation going he really found it hard, for once. A look at Thoran, the glittering in his eyes that gave away the tears he was desperately trying to hold back for their sake, convinced the blond his right hand needed to be somewhere else -- anywhere -- for now. A glance in the unconscious Bahiri's direction made his mind, silently nudging the other lad and pointing into the direction of the weyrbrat and the healer. With a nod, both to excuse himself as well to acknowledge Hinuk's signal, Thoran made his way over to Mortiv and Bahiri, staying silently close by as he simply watched the procedure.
Usually Thoran might had been more talkative, maybe curious enough to question how the whole "pop shoulder into place" worked. But right now he didn't felt like doing much. He didn't felt like doing anything, really.
"You think Bahari's okay?" "I'm... not sure really. He wasn't with us in the Hatching Sands, and he looked a bit bruised. He's probably not too bad, though I don't think he'll take the news well."
Bahari was the mother of the group, always fawning over all of them alike and trying to keep them safe from trouble. Hinuk had lost count of the many times the boy had took the fault for one of their many pranks along with Fiddle -- though his silvered tongue was usually enough to get them out of any sort of punishment fairly quickly. Evelys death would no like destroy the poor kid, if only due to his caring personality, though Hinuk strongly hoped he hung on. He needed Bahiri's help now more than ever, especially with the younger brats.
As if on cue Mirage was soon led to the group, the poor dear weeping her eyes out since the whole chaos in the sands, the Hinuk fidgeted awkwardly -- oh how he wished Bahiri was conscious, he'd take care of this without a problem. Or Evelys, as harsh as she was and tomboyish the girl had always had a soft sot for the younger brats.
"Hey... There, there... Come on now, Mirage, those tears don't suit you at all. How about a little smile, for me, huh?"
He spoke softly, trying to maybe get the younger girl to at least chuckle, if ever so slightly. Oh Faranth who was Hinuk trying to kid, he had no idea what he was doing. At all. Shit. Desperately his eyes turned towards Seirsha as he patted Mirage on the head softly, trying to comfort the girl as he led her closer to the blond. He wasn't fond of dealing with crying kids usually, even less today of all days, and frankly he really did not know what to do.

Megdela tried to smile but it came out as about half a smile but it was a attempt. The leader asked for a smile and she really did try. She reached up and wiped her eyes softly with the back of her hand. She didn't know what to do or how to feel. She let him push her toward Seirsha and pat her on the head. She saw mama cat in Seirsha's lap and reached out to pet her. She always liked mama. And surprisingly the fur was soft and oddly comforting.

R'kin came into the infirmary with his wound on the side already beginning to bleed through his dressings as he with a big breath went to sit in a chair. He was having difficulity breathing as he sat down and noticed all the people around him who we're also injured. The young bronze weyrling had left his bronze at the opening of the infirmary because the bronze insisted on defending him. His dragonet felt guilty for him being injured yet he didn't feel that it was anyone's fault except the holdless. His wound hurting him as he leaned in the chair and just kept breathing heavily.
The young man sighed he never figured this is what came with riding a dragon. He felt that it was his fault that he hadn't made more of a fight because everyone expected big things since he was a bronze rider. R'kin sighed as he realized he might never live up to what was required of him and sighed as the wound continued to pulse with pain. "I can't believe this," said R'kin as he would still pulsed with pain and soon blood was spilling out.

Once she had most of the idle people doing something to help or at least stay out of the way she walked back into the human side of the infirmary which was beginning to have a large influx of people. The sound of retreat had meant the injured could now be ushered to the infirmary. It was now all hands on deck! Looking to see who had yet to be seen by other healers, Vaylee made her way towards one young man who was bleeding profusely. Whomever had bandaged that wound had done a piss poor job of it.
The pretty blonde approached the Weyrling with a calm and steady demeanor. He was from the newest clutch, she knew that much though his name escaped her. “Yes, it’s a bit unreal. The whole situation I mean. Now I’m going to need to look at your wound because its bleeding too much. You might need stitches. Your dragon will be contacted by mine to keep him calm.” She was sure he had a male dragon. Cupith who had always been sweet natured, crooned to hers before adding to Krestanovith, Do not worry young one. Mine will take care of him. He’ll be on the mend soon.
Vaylee’s gentle hands removed what he had covering the wound. Where most people would probably grimace at the blood, Vaylee was used to seeing all sorts of injuries. She explained what she was doing so that R’kin would be prepared for what was going to happen. “First we need to disinfect the wound. I’ll be putting some redwort on it which will sting.” She took a clean cloth and soaked it in the redwort before applying it to R’kin’s side.
Once that was done, she set a clean cloth on the wound and applied pressure. “Hold this there for a little while. We need to stop the bleeding. Pressure should help. Were you injured anywhere else?”

K'len after getting some assistance helped Or’yn to the infirmary. He hoped that he was gonna be alright. He reached out and grabbed the nearest person to ask where they should put him. K'len had gotten lucky. He barely escaped any injury. He could of ended up the same or worse. Probably would of it they hadn't retreated when they did.

R'kin saw a woman come up to him and with expert hands had removed the blooded cloth. He heard her explain about the antiseptic and he hissed in pain as it made contact with his skin. The young man nodded in thanks because his bronze was sending frantic thoughts and feelings to him. While he loved his bronze it was not doing much to keep him calm. She applied another cloth to the wound that he held on to. "Thank you," said R'kin as he thought about that he was lucky to have escaped with his life. He said, "No," in response to the question of being hurt anyone else.
The bronze weyrling began to count the wounded and soon lost count. He noticed how it included everyone from weyrlings to workers. R'kin was thankful to have survived and was more certain then ever the next time he ran into holdless he'd kill them all. When he smiled at her for a moment because she was a beautiful woman and looked forward to the day that his bronze would be able to go after female dragons. "Thank you," said R'kin with a smile at her and gave her his best big eye look.

Marlaey/Elynth With only a few minor injuries and one pretty nasty cut on the back of her leg, Marlaey and Elynth hobbled up to the Infirmary at the gold's insistence. You need a healer and we need to see how the weyr has fared. Attempting to stride forward with an elegant grace befitting of her rank, Elynth stumbled and was once again reminded of her age and clumsiness. She reluctantly strode more carefully after that, but kept a good pace as her rider needed attention soon. Marlaey was relieved that her dragon hadn't been hurt during the fighting, but she had seen too many of her friends get injured for the comfort to last very long. Or'yn had been one of the last to go down, so had R'kin. She worried for them both now as she and Elynth made their way to the infirmary. Outside the cavern they met Krestanovith, it appeared he was taking on guard duty. Elynth purred gently and approvingly to him, nuzzling his neck with her nose before continuing forwards. Marlaey nodded to the young bronze silently as she passed into the medicinal smelling room. Raising her head to make sure she was seen, Elynth padded down through the room, checking for those she knew, seeking out a healer and generally proving that her weyr had been strong enough to protect their most valuable dragon. She greeted all before her with admiration, respect and gratitude. They deserved it. She would speak with any who needed her once Marlaey's wounds were cleaned and dressed. P'lel/Revyketh P'lel had intended to follow K'len and help him bring Or'yn up, but had seen that the bronzerider was in capable hands already. He looked to R'kin who was concious now and making his way to the infirmary with his dragon. Reyketh decided that they should stay with him, even at a distance, because he may need further help. This would also give the pair a chance to make sure there were no holdless stragglers snooping around, they would be quickly dispatched if the brown pair had anything to do with it. Once they reached the infirmary itself, Revyketh greeted Krestanovith, How are you and Yours doing now?P'lel had decided to go on in and see for himself. He found the bronzerider with a young woman, a greenrider and a healer if P'lel remembered correctly. "Hey R'kin, how are you feeling?"

Krestanovith was standing guard at the door to the weyr because his would not be hurt anymore. He was meet by the gold weyrling pair and gave greetings as they went inside. When he noticed Revyketh coming and listened to his question then said, ""I"m fine and R'kin is being looked at,". The bronze dragonet would not leave his post till his rider came to him and watched the brown weyrling rider enter. When R'kin noticed P'lel approach him and he said, "Okay, I'll probably need sutures,". He noticed more injured riders come through the opening and just sighed so many hurt.
"Thanks, for your help earlier," said R'kin as he looked at his friend and fellow rider that he sensed would be close to. The two of them we're the strongest as far as riders went and the two colors usually served in the ranks close. R'kin knew that the brown pair was braver probably more then him while he was more reserved. He was more likely to think out a problem before acting on it while the brown pair just followed their feelings. "How are you two doing," asked R'kin as he looked at his friend and hoped that he had faired better.

The Infirmary when he finally arrived was a mad house. Emera and the healers were being run ragged. With Aeriath and Raelwyn gone, the woman had no real help in keeping the Lower Caverns organized so D’seus had taken it upon himself to find kitchen staff and Creche workers to find children who had living foster parents or real parents to take care of them. Those who were healthy were being reunited and sent to the Dining Hall for some dinner. The Head cook had been easy to find and took the reins of the kitchen folk when they were rounded up.
D’seus walked through the infirmary trying not to think too much about what he was seeing. There were people strewn throughout. Some injured some dead. They were burning the dead in the bowl because they could not afford to keep them around. The healers insisted they could cause an infestation of bugs, followed by diseases. He finally caught up with the Headwoman.
“Emera. The kitchens are going and I’ve got children being reconnected with their families. All healthy and uninjured personel who are not involved with healing or helping clear out the deceased are reporting there for a meal. The Head cook has the kitchens under control. I think laundry can wait till tomorrow. Anything else you need?” He asked hoping that was enough help. She was deprived of a Senior Queen and as it was, they were quite lucky Marlaey was alive and seemingly well.
~*~*~*~
Vaylee returned the young man’s smile although she was not in the least bit being any different than she would be for anyone else. Flirtatious by nature, she simply figured the youth was happy to see a pretty woman tending him instead of one of the grizzled old men one often saw at the infirmary. “Ahh I see your friends have found you.” She looked up at the two youths who had approached. “R’kin will be fine. The bleeding is almost stopped.”
The blonde lifted the bandage then and nodded. Indeed it would be fine. “I’d rather not close up the wound unless it has no way of healing up without stitches. Infection would be more likely if I did. And then we’d have a bigger problem. If P’lel could stay with R’kin and make sure he’s keeping pressure on it that would be best. Now young Marlaey why don’t you and Elynth come over to the dragon infirmary, she’s taking up much too much room in here.”
Looking at the young Gold it was a wonder she had even fit through the door. Cupith was a small dragon but she could not fit on the other side of the infirmary. “Elynth looks fine so I’m guessing you are the one who needs medical attention.” Vaylee said good humoredly. She like Marlaey as a person and really, who didn’t. The girl was so nice! “Where are you injured?” She asked sweetly as they walked towards the dragon infirmary. Not many injured dragons which was a wonder. Dragons had Betweened when their riders died so no dead dragons to move. Other than that dragon losses had been minimal to non-existent. ~*~*~*~
Seirsha was not paying much attention to the boys anymore. Everything was rather fuzzy now she thought about it. The glows emitted a sort of haze about them. Momma cat was not pleased. The tunnel cat dug her claws into the young girl’s arm. “Oww.” Her blue eyes landed on the white fuzzy on her lap with a scowl.
“Fine, I won’t look at the fluffy glow lights.” She crossed her arms and tried to think of some other way to distract herself. Maybe rethinking the firelizard heist. There were some definite flaws in the plan. Something she would not allow to happen again.

Once Mortiv successfully had the boy away and given him a root to suck on for the nausea, he carried him to the same bed Seirsha sat on before looking at the girl once more with a frown as she mentioned the fuzzy glows. Moving back in front of her again, he studied her eyes before speaking.
“Alright dear, I’m going to ask you some questions, though they may seem strange, but I need you to answer them for me okay?” Waiting for an agreement, he continued. “What’s your name dear? How old are you and what is your kitty’s name?”
Finding a clean mug nearby, he picked it up as he listened to her answer and found a nearby pitcher of water. “Are you feeling any pain in your head? Any headaches? I heard you mention the glows were becoming fuzzy. Does it hurt to look at them?”

The healer was back and she suddenly felt a bit guilty. She should have told the boys she wasn’t doing well. They were too distracted though with what had transpired earlier. Actually she was lucky her tunnel cat was good at detecting her moods. The cat was looking out for her well-being at the very least. Well she might have a future with animals if the dragonrider thing didn’t work out. “My name is Seirsha. I’m twelve Turns of age. I named her Momma cat. Cause she had a bunch of kittens when I got her.” The glows were fuzzy but they didn’t hurt her eyes she thought as she looked back at them. “I have a small headache but I’ve had worse.” She looked back at the glows then to make doubly sure of what she was feeling. “No they don’t hurt. It is like they have a veil over them. They aren’t as bright and the light is spread over more space. You know when you squint; it looks kind of like that.” She tried to describe what she was seeing.
After all the questions only one thing was bothering her. He hadn’t said she could sleep yet. If it were a normal day with the pack she’d already be pretty sleepy. As it was she had wielded a rather big weapon and she was feeling the effects of such exertion. A yawn escaped her for which she was kind of sorry about. He had told her to stay awake. With a wistful sigh she said, “I am very tired.”

~OOC: Sorry it's so short, but I have finally returned. : D ~
His head was a bit fuzzy when he returned to reality. The lights swam around him, and his tounge felt like lead in his mouth. Bahari attempted to swallow, but only a meager amount of spit found its way down his parched throat. Apparently being scared out of your whits and running for your life made you thirsty. The fact that he had passed out probably didn't help either.
"Wah-water."
The small grumble was all that Bahari could manage as he tried to pull himself up into a sitting position. Unfortunately his arm was still a little sore, and Bahari pulled it tight against his chest with a barely audible hiss.
As the pain slowly ebbed away and the world stopped tilting, Bahari looked around and tried to take stock of everything around him.
