Skerring was founded nearly 100 Turns ago on the eastern coast of the Northern Continent, it's mission: to protect the nearby Kibrash Hold from Thread. Now though, with just two Turns to go before the coming of the ninth Pass, the Weyr must prepair for Fall, and alas it must do it with only their well-meaning but largely inept weyrwoman to lead them, for their weyrleader recently died in a tragic flying accident. Can they be ready in time, or will the merciless Thread catch them off-guard?
Skerring Weyr is a Pern RPG set at the end of the eighth interval. We do not follow the plot of the ninth-Pass novels, and would call ourselves semi-canon. We aim to provide a friendly, relaxed roleplay, suitable both for the complete beginner and the seasoned RPer. We have a not-yet-revealed site-wide plot that everyone can get involved in, and members are encouraged to invent their own mini-plots as well. We like to think of ourselves as a literate roleplay, so the ability to write decent-sized posts is necessary, but help is available to those who wish to improve their writing skills.
