D’ero was happily snuggling up with Jarshan before she noticed that he was not fully dry. He blinked a few times, looked down at himself and then back at her. “I’m not wet! I’m just a little… damp.” He helped out with his clothes, correcting her every time she said he was wet that he was only damp. “My mother probably would have been happy about me going to bed with wet clothes. Little boys are not known for their good bathing habits.”
He returned her hello kiss and sat up a little so he could remove his shirt. Bathing Horuth had been a good idea, not only had it given Jarshan a chance to get a little more sleep but it had also calmed him down a little, he wasn’t going to try and jump Jarshan now at least. It was still a tempting thought but it wasn’t his only thought. “Yes, toast. I brought you something to eat. If you’re hungry that is. Just some toast, fruit and klah. Though all of that can wait until you’re ready to get out of bed.” And he was in no rush for that. The longer she stayed in his bed, the longer he had her all to himself.
For that matter, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly and keeping his still damp lower half away from her. “You sleep ok while I was gone? I tried to give you enough time but it was hard to stay out knowing that you were here.” He ran his fingers lightly through her hair, being careful to not pull on any of the small tangles she had gotten while she slept. He continued to hold her, though his grip had loosened a little. He was willing to let her go if she wanted up but he was comfortable just holding her.

"Damp? This is what you call damp? You're practically dripping!" Jarshan answered. Okay, so she was exaggerating a little. But what could she say? She liked poking fun at him and he was rather ... wet. "Oh she would, would she? Were you a dirty little boy then? I am glad you aren't still. Dirty little boys don't get as much snuggles as clean ones do." She remarked, half teasing and half serious. Really ... if he didn't have good hygiene, he'd have a much harder time getting her interested in getting anywhere near his person.
At least that wet shirt was coming off. Jarshan took it from him and flung it across the room, aiming to have it land on something like a chair or something. But she failed. Instead it just smacked into the wall and landed on the floor there in a heap. Oh well. Some things were good for throwing, some weren't. Wet shirts were one of the things that weren't. "Oh, really? Thank you! I might have to investigate this food stuff in a little while." She answered with a grin. He had brought her food! How thoughtful and sweet!
"Ohh, I guess I did." Jarshan answered, snuggling against him. Wrapping one arm around his middle, she rested her head against his shoulder. A smile touched her face as she felt him start playing with her hair. "Really? It must really torture you when I leave the Weyr then." She speculated, again partly teasing, and partly flattered. Her fingertips trailed light circles on his back as she considered the things he had said. Turning her head, she rested her face against his neck, relaxing into the warmth of his skin. The bits that weren't covered in cold wet clothes, anyway.
"What are your plans for today? Do you have drills?" Jarshan asked, sounding somewhat muffled.

“I lived on a farm with two older brothers. It would have been hard for me not to get dirty all the time. I learned the joys of bathing more then once a month once I was old enough to start growing hair in places that wasn’t my head.” He grinned a bit and nuzzled against Jarshan’s ear, speaking softly into it. “Plus I’m not a little boy any more. And I think I get more snuggles when I’ve been a dirty one…”
He watched her fling his shirt off to the side and heard it smack against into the wall. He pulled her close to him, giving her a quick kiss and nodding. “I thought you might be hungry when you woke up. Since you got back late last night I wasn’t sure when you last had a chance to eat.” He knew that he probably didn’t have to worry about things like that, but he did like being able to do little things like that for her.
D’ero was happy to hear that she had slept well, even if she could probably use a little more sleep. “I hate it when you have to leave the Weyr. But I know you have to do it and you like going out and doing your Shield stuff. And you being gone does make me appreciate it even more when you’re here.” He glanced down as Jarshan snuggled into his neck and couldn’t help but grin a bit. He shook his head lightly at her question. “No, no drills or anything today. We get a day off once in a while.” And even if he had had drills, he would have skipped them. Missing one session just because you weren’t feeling good, or in his case feeling far too good, wouldn’t be too bad. And being able to spend a day in bed with Jarshan would be well worth any punishment he got.

Bathing once a month. That was ... disgusting. She was glad he was cleaner than that now. Northerners were just so backward. "Ohhhh, that's a different kind of dirty, and you know it." Jarshan answered. "Trust me, if you go a month without a bath, you're not getting anywhere near me. Okay?" she couldn't help but smile, though, wrapping one hand around the back of his neck. It was certainly something he was good at, snuggling. She couldn't deny that even a little.
Jarshan returned his kiss, allowing him to draw her near again despite his wet britches. Silly boy. "Mmmm ... I'm not hungry at the moment. Maybe later I will be." She inclined her head to the side and smiled again as she slid her arms around his chest, drawing more light circles on his back with her fingertips. "Thank you though. It was sweet of you." And it was. She couldn't recall if she'd ever been brought breakfast before.
"A day off. Hmm. And I just happened to get here in time for it? Happenstance. .. or no?" Jarshan mused, though she was quite pleased to hear it. Her day off could be spent harassing him, then! Or teasing him mercilessly. Or ... yeah. Things like that. Even if she wasn't doing it yet. It didn't mean she wouldn't. For now she settled for trailing kisses along his collar bone and neck. Just to amuse herself and to see what his reaction might be. That, and, well ... she liked doing it. Probably like he seemed to like messing with her hair. Little touches that she also enjoyed. It made her feel good, to have him paying attention to her.

D’ero rolled his eyes slightly. “I haven’t done that since my age hit the double digits. Since getting to the Weyr I think I’ve gone a day without bathing. And that was after being marched here by you. Far too tired to think of things like that. And sleeping in an actually bed.” He let out a happy sigh at just the memory of that. The trip south had been terrible in his mind and being captured by the Shield had probably been the best thing to happen to them. And while those first days of having Horuth had been long, hard days, washing his dragon had kept him clean. No, D’ero enjoyed being able to wash off when ever he wanted and took advantage of it. He wasn’t going to be that one guy in the Weyr who stunk things up. He didn’t even need Jarshan’s threat for that. “If you ever get that worried about me not bathing, you can always just suggest we do it together.” Oh actually he liked that idea. He wondered if he could get Jarshan to go along with that one willingly.
“Good, I didn’t really want to let you go just yet. And you’re welcome. If you keep coming by this early in the morning I’ll keep doing it for you too.” Next time he might even be daring enough to try and make her something. And more then just toast too. He liked being able to do little things for her.
He gave her a little grin and kissed her quickly as she questioned if his day off was really a day off. “Does it matter? Even if we did have lessons I would send A’lez word that I’m feeling ill. I have Jarshan-itius. I must stay in bed all day until I get my fill of Jarshan. Or until she gets tried of me.” His fingers kept brushing through her hair and a long her back until he felt her kiss along his collar bone and neck. It tickled a little along his collar bone but still felt nice and he let out a happy little groan. He was not going to let himself get riled up so easily, not matter how much he liked that.

Jarshan paused a moment, and then grinned. "That actually sounds like a plan." She answered, giving him a quick kiss. A bath sounded absolutely marvelous. Nevermind she'd had one just the night before. A nice hot soak was quite an attractive proposition. Though if he did come along she suspected that not a whole lot of relaxing or getting clean would be happening. But ... but ... getting a bath would also entail getting up. And she wasn't ready to get up yet. She was too comfortable where she was. Wrapped in his arms, resting against his warmth and listening to his heart beat.
"Oh, so my schedule isn't too wonky for you?" Jarshan asked, teasing him. Of course she had been fully aware that he wasn't going to turn her away, no matter how absurd the hour might have been. But she did have to admit that it was rather awkward to end up sleeping part of her visit away. No matter how comfy and satisfying it might have been. Maybe next time she would sleep first, and then visit. Or .... maybe not. There had also been a very compelling reason why she hadn't done just that.
Wow, she was racking up quite a list to get done once she got up. Eat breakfast, take a bath ... even on her day off, there was so much to do!! All the more reason to draw the furs up over her head and stay put right there in bed. And maybe even see how many ticklish spots she could find on D'ero .... okay, maybe not that. If he got too tickled he might get up and leave. That wasn't what she wanted to happen.
But then she snorted, quite amused. "Jarshanitis? Are you serious? I doubt the Weyrleader is going to believe you, and I guarantee he'll see right through that. It would be best to leave my name out of your excuses." She suggested. "Surely you know mentioning a woman as a reason for not showing up to work is just bad form."
But ... but ... oh! He liked little kisses did he? Jarshan grinned as she listened to his answering groan. Clearly, very clearly, he wasn't as cooled off as he made like to be. This could be interesting! She proceeded to march tiny slow kisses the rest of the way up his neck, all the way to his ear. There she poked her nose into his ear before running it across his cheek, grinning at him. "Good morning." Jarshan whispered before planting a kiss on his mouth. Whew, she might need to slip away to that bath sooner than she thought ... tormenting him like that probably wasn't a terribly good idea.

D’ero was a little surprised that Jarshan was so willing to go along with the bath idea. He grinned a bit, knowing that he wasn’t going to stay clean for long if the two of them were washing together. Of course they probably weren’t doing it just to try and get clean. Oh it was such a pleasant thought. But Jarshan clearly wasn’t ready for anything like that yet as she continued to lay on him. D’ero of course didn’t mind, her warmth and weight were comfortable on him and he just liked being this close to her.
“Oh I hate your schedule. But you make putting up with it more then worth it. Plus, sooner or later I’ll put you through the same thing I’m sure.” They would both be busy and D’ero was sure there would be times when they wouldn’t get to see much of each other. It made him appreciate what time he did get with her even more. Even if she spent most of it sleeping. It was just good to have her near by and even better that she seemed to be in mellow mood. He didn’t think he had ever seen her as relaxed as she currently was. He didn’t think she got many times to just stay in bed and do nothing.
A mock look of shock crossed D’ero’s face as she asked if he was serious about the illness. “But it’s a real thing! I swear! And does the Weyrleader know that we’re seeing each other yet or will he just think that I was stopped by a Shield member. I mean you could be stopping me for work reasons. I am one of those Northern boys after all. Could be checking up on me to make sure I’m not planning something. It involved having to strip search me and then keep me in bed for a while.” He didn’t know how much time the Weyrleader spent listening to the babble of who was seeing who. He was a rather busy guy and it wasn’t like the two of them had had much time to go around flaunting their relationship to everyone. But he wouldn’t use her as an excuse for not showing up to wing drills. He didn’t plan on skipping his drills anyways, well at least not very often, it wouldn’t be able to help himself if Jarshan did this more often.
D’ero had thought he would be fine going back to Jarshan. And he would have been if she hadn’t started to tease him. What a wicked woman, it wasn’t fair that she did things like this to him. Not that he wanted her to stop. He shut his eyes, grinning a bit before she planted a kiss on his lips. “Morning. You at least seem to have woken up in a good mood. You should be careful though, otherwise I might try to pin you down again…” Not the he would be able to keep her down but he might as well give her a little bit of a warning.

"Quite possibly, yes. Many many Riders stay far to busy to entertain any kind of partnership." Jarshan answered. It wouldn't surprise her a bit if D'ero started getting so wound up in his oh so shiny dragon that, well, he stopped having time or energy for anything but dragon and more dragon. It would really be a pity though, he was a nice kid. Even if he was starting to grow out of the kid phase. He would be a strapping young man. But yeah ... she really didn't see this fling of theirs lasting very long in the face of his lifelong occupation.
Did the Weyrleader know about them? Jarshan was willing to bet her very best knives that he did. Not because the Weyrleader would be paying that kind of attention to the Northern folk (nevermind he did pay a lot of attention to them), but because of her. She was Shield. Shield didn't have private anything. The Leaders always knew everything about the people they sent to do the dirty work. There were no secrets. Jarshan hadn't exactly mentioned it to anyone, but she was even willing to bet that the rest of the Shield knew, too. Maybe they didn't know how far things had progressed, but they knew.
Which brought another thought to mind. She had better be careful about him. And her. If even by an off chance she got knocked up ... Jarshan was pretty sure they'd oust her from the Shield. It wasn't something she had thought about before, and was grateful for it that nothing had come of their first fling on the mountain. She had better take some precautions! "Don't worry about it, D'ero. They know. They all know." She assured him. And if he started compromising her ability to perform her function, she didn't have the slightest doubt all of her superiors in every form would come crashing down and forbid her to see him anymore. She didn't doubt it a bit.
So she had better keep all this low key.
Even if right now she didn't really feel like it. But! This morning was this morning. She'd already crossed the line, might as well have fun while she was at it before she went back.
"Oh, most certainly. Good moods are always fun." Jarshan assured him, somewhat amused that he had his eyes shut. No doubt envisioning all sorts of goodies. And with no real idea what she might do next, because he wasn't watching. She kissed him again, running one hand over his chest and around his shoulder. Snickering, she lifted away from him. "Pin me down? You'd have to catch me first." Jarshan teased, before slipping suddenly away. Not only away from him, but out from under the fur and off the bed entirely.
She padded her way across his weyr without a stitch on, headed for his bath. Hmmm, yeah. She'd better cool off, clean up, and get ready to do something productive again. Though she'd probably have to hunt around under his bed to find all her clothes again. Stopping in the doorway to the bath, she glanced back at him and the bed, smirked, and then disappeared through the entrance to step down into his bath. Oh, but it was even warm. How lovely~

D’ero had no interest in getting so busy that he wouldn’t have time for his own personal life. He liked being able to do more then just work, work and more work. Nor could he ever picture a time when he would be too tired or too busy to dedicate some of his time to Jarshan. It was one more reason why he was glad he had Impressed a brown instead of a bronze and had little interest in rank. The honor that came with being a wingleader or wingsecond was something that D’ero had no interest in. He was Northern born and those ranks had no meaning to him. “Heh you’ll probably wish I was one of those riders. When I’m the one who’s coming back at odd hours of the night, you’ll be the one getting woken up and having to deal with a frisky guy.”
He laughed a little at the fact that everyone probably knew about the two of them. He wasn’t too surprised really, no gossip spread faster then who had hooked up with who. The fact that it was the two of them that had gotten together instead of a pair that made more sense would only speed the rumors along. D’ero didn’t care, the most crap he was going to get was the fact that he was dating a rather frightening Southern girl. Jarshan would probably be getting more comments then he was. “Well good, they can all be jealous about us then. Probably wonder how we manage to do everything we do and still find time to enjoy one another’s company.”
D’ero was certainly finding this morning to be a very good one. Sure he had been woken up earlier then normal but it had been well worth it. And she just continued to make it worth it to him. A kiss here, a touch there, there was nothing else that D’ero would rather be doing. Of course then she had to get up.
He opened his eyes and caught her slipping off the edge of the bed. He frowned for a moment but couldn’t stop the grin from rising up as he watched her walk through his weyr and to the bath. “I hate to see you leave but I love watching you go…” He shook his head a bit and stayed in bed for a little longer, just calming himself down a little before he flung the furs off himself and got up. His pants came off as he chased after her.
