The thing with people like Phaerie was that they did not hide their thoughts well. It was plain and clear she was not happy to see him and even less so to see K'dyn. If he had cared as to what her opinion was of him, perhaps that would have been cause for her to actually find him likeable. As it stood, he really could care less what some vagrant trader thought about him. Turning his full attention on K'dyn for a moment he smiled. “I think that would depend on the green.” Dark, deep green like Nemesyth's hide would look great on him although perhaps not on his face. He diverted his attention back to the lesson though he was quite sure he had not missed anything yet.
Well other than that small boy complaining about something. He really hadn't given much thought to the maulings at the Hatching. They were supposed to happen where Gold dragonets were involved. He only wished the dragonet had mauled the right people. The twin blondes were much to pretty to be scarred up and Anaryn was a nice, albeit loose, young woman. (How else would she have gotten pregnant?) N'var was not really all that upset by it though. Maybe the blondes were annoying, maybe Anaryn was going to be a pain in the you know where for their Weyrlinghood. He figured the dragon had known what she was doing.
We always do. Notice that no one here is prepared to answer the question. If you were from the South you would know. Sorry to disappoint. He responded with a slightly irritated tone. You are better than the Southerners. They grew up here and don't seem to know anything. He had to think that she was right. Nemesyth was always right.

While she was grateful that the young boy had spoken up, she rather doubted he would be all that much help getting to the infirmary. He was at least a eight inches shorter than she was, possibly more like nine or ten inches. Doing as she was told, Vaylee moved carefully to the back of the room. She could sit.
Vaylee was slow moving as it would be painful to do anything. She was sore all over and there was no pleasing her injured body. Later she would get some numbweed which would help with the pain. She gritted her teeth so as not to let out a sound as she sat in the chair. It will get better.Nodding she tried to focus on the lesson at hand.
When no one answered she spoke, her soft, soothing voice was still loud enough to be heard at the front of the room, “Dragonet's hides must be oiled daily to prevent itching and keep cracking to a minimum. Most dragons like being oiled as it soothes the hide.” Whether she learned this information from her Candidacy or from certain other endeavors, no one would ever know.

Rath spoke quite amused about what had happened, I see whats going on. You want to escort the pretty blonde girl... I do not. Oh? Could have fooled me. I have no interest in women or men at the moment. Although Or'yn really could not help that hormones were about to invade his body and force him to pursue females against his will and better judgement. At least Rath would be sleeping when he had to escort the young woman to the infirmary. He supposed someone taller and stronger would be of more help however he was determined to do what he could.
He was not up for answering questions, in fact he'd probably stopped paying attention a few minutes ago. Rath was listening but he'd learned all this crap as a Candidate. This lesson was for the Northerners who had no idea what dragons were like or how to care for one. He spent the rest of the lesson looking at the people in the room with him.
Or'yn began to play a little game with himself. Match the person with the dragon and both names. It would be difficult so he started with the easiest ones. Aisynn, green Shivath. Essa, Gold Rhiannoth. He turned his head to see the three people next to Essa, he didn't really know them so he moved on. Solera, blue Lugth. He remembered that because she impressed blue. The other blue that impressed a girl was Seth to Ferlese. The other Bronze of the clutch was Zeuth, rider B'ren. He felt he was doing rather well and continued to look around him and name the people and dragons. There were quite a few of them and it should keep him occupied most of the lesson.
