R'gar was somewhat surprised when Prontin reached over and touched him the way she did. It wasn't a bad thing in his mind, but ... it was also awfully awkward not to squirm. At first he hesitated, entirely ignoring all the flitters at the moment as he was fully and completely distracted by Prontin and her proximity. "Heh," He said finally, daring to wrap his fingers around her hand without actually removing it from where she'd put it.
When Velvet finally sent him the picture, it was all R'gar could do not to laugh. Not only for what it was portraying, but the emotions that went along with it. As it was, he couldn't help the biggest grin in the world cracking his face in amusement for many, many different reasons. "I see." He told her, before leaning over closer to where she was sitting. "That's you, Prontin. That's your face and hair, from the perspective of your lap." Absolutely lovely, even in a flitter's eyes.
But again, he was sorely distracted and he didn't pay the flitters any attention at all anymore, instead unable to help anything but to smile at her lovely face, even though she couldn't see or know. As such, Velvet's possessive warning went completely unheeded.

“… Me?...” she finally answered, the silence that followed after R’gar’s statement had stretched on for a moment before she broke it and another stretched on for a moment afterwards as she lifted a hand to her own face. Her fingers brushed over her cheek, moving from her mouth to her cheekbone and then down her face to her chin. That… That was her. The way she looked – the way everyone else saw her.
It was, however, the little blue Trouble that took the next move of the scene into his own hands. He had finally figured out what the little bronze had done to receive Prontin’s attention and went to quick work to mimic it as he crooned happily – wanting to prove that he was just as smart and even more eager to please her. Suddenly a tornado of pictures that he had not yet shared with anyone was being sent all over the place. To Prontin he sent an actual picture of a walnut, a picture of his tunnel snake now dead and bloody, half eaten on the floor, a picture of Imp and a picture of the inside of her sock drawer. To R’gar he sent a picture of a dirty clothes pile where he had hidden a meatroll, a cook’s angry face as she chased him out of the kitchens with a broom as well as the picture of a cliff wall. Even Imp and Velvet received pictures, one of a little kitten named Mismatch who was rather quite ugly and a picture of spilt Klah that Trouble had caused but had promptly blamed on the feline.
The sudden invasion of pictures had Prontin reclaiming her captured hand from R’gar, however, as she quickly put them up to her head, her senses swimming at the quick order of pictures. It was like she couldn’t focus on any one thing where she had been happily picking apart details a moment before of the one picture she held. Letting out a soft cry as the pain in her head suddenly blossomed. “Stop, stop, STOP.” She cried out softly as she tried to figure out which flitter was suddenly so excited – it was an easy guess though. “Trouble, stop! You’re hurting me!”

The way she reacted to learning what she looked like, that the image was of her, it was almost cute. Sad, but cute. R'gar watched her fondle her own face so very thoughtfully for a moment, wishing that in some way he could do something so similar. The serene moment didn't last very long, however. What with the young blue interjecting his interpretation of what was desired.
It didn't take R'gar long to figure out what was wrong with Prontin, especially not when he started being included in the barrage. Faranth, that was enough to make even a sighted person holler. Snatching up a small pouch hung from his belt, it only took him a second to extract a rag and fling it over the blue's head. A solution that the rag had been soaked in had been found to put flitters to sleep quickly ... a necessary thing given that flitters were otherwise impossible to work on when wounded. Especially given their tendency to go between to get away from things. R'gar's hope was that a sudden nap might stop the barrage of images and give Prontin a rest. The only other option he had was to threaten to backhand the creature, bluff it into popping between somewhere other than here.
"Are you okay?" He asked, turning his attention back to Prontin. Taking her head in his hands as gently as was possible, he took a moment to inspect her features to see if he could detect any traces of actual damage ... though a raging headache was probably unavoidable at this point. "I'm so sorry, I had no idea he'd do that to you..."

The little blue flit responded exactly as he was suppose to when the rag fell over his head unexpectedly, pulling his head back and gasping in surprise – in turn taking a good lungful of the sleeping solution. He wobbled for just a moment, shaking his head but soon fell over with the cloth still cover his head. In return, the flood of over excited pictures came to a wonderful hault.
“Oh there must be a way to have them only send me something when I ask for it.” Prontin said, holding her head. “Velvet is so wonderful but sometimes Trouble just gets too excited. Especially when he thinks a game is involved.”
Velvet seemed to croon agreement to this before padding his way over to the blue and sniffing from a short distance away at the cloth. Letting out a sneeze, he quickly backed up and shook his own head deciding that he didn’t like it. With that decision made and very little love for the troublesome blue, he was instantly back in Prontin’s lap, butting his head against her stomach for either love or encouragement. Prontin new better though, most of the time it was for both.
((short, but its finally a post! Sorry I took so long and sorry I missed you! T_T))

R'gar heaved a slow sigh as the flitter actually fell asleep as intended. "Yeahhhh ... it's called training. Unfortunately, this one seems a bit hard headed when it comes to training. Also, unfortunately, you're the only one that can train him. I'd do it for you if I could, but it's you he looks to." Maybe getting her a flitter hadn't been such a grand idea after all, and R'gar was feeling a tad bad about it now. He'd wanted her to have a helper, not something that caused her pain.
He fell silent for a moment as he watched Velvet snuggle into her lap. It seemed rather silly, but he did admit to feeling a pang of jealousy toward the little twit. Getting to touch her like that ... snuggle a bit.
Tearing his gaze from the small animal, he settled for watching Prontin instead. Picking up the rag and folding it up, he tucked it back into a pouch on his belt. He expected that Trouble would probably sleep out the rest of the day and maybe should be most of the night too... given that flitters weren't nocturnal by nature. But he didn't want to knock other curious critters out by leaving it laying around. That was just irresponsible.
"How's your head?"

At the mention that she would have to be the one to train him made her pout slightly, sticking her lower lip out just a tad with a heavy sigh before she rolled the lips to press them together. She knew it would have to be her, but it seemed unfair that no help could really be provided.
“I don’t understand. Velvet is calm and quiet. Sure he gets excited now and then, but he doesn’t drag me into it. Like when there was a mouse in my room. He was all over the place after it, but he was so careful not to bump into me. Trouble though… I had to finally call the chase off, despite how much they were enjoying themselves because I was afraid that if Trouble didn’t hurt himself he’d hurt me with the way he was bumping into me.”
The bronze crooned at this before settling down in her lap and closing his eyes. Prontin pet him, running long fingers over his soft hide unconsciously as she let her gaze fall just to the left of R’gar’s knees, as if she were studying the floor that she couldn’t see.
“My head… it hurts, but only a little bit now. A slight ache. I am just… disoriented.” She made a face at this before smiling with a slight laugh. “It might take me a little bit to get use to… but… Do you think I could get Velvet to show me the stars? Or a sunset?”
At this her voice sounded like she was trying to hold back that eager, hopeful tone and not managing. She wanted to see. Wanted to be able to see so many things she had dreamed of seeing for so long. Perhaps…. Perhaps this might be her way.

R'gar shook his head ever so slightly. "It's their natures, born into their bones. Trouble is a blue, they're known for mischeif and excitement. Velvet is a Bronze, one of the biggest breeds of males. Strong, steady, typically mates to the Queens. He's going to be a lot steadier, and easier to train to do tasks. Also a lot more dependable for getting anything done that you give him." R'gar answered. All information he'd learned the last few turns, himself. For before he had been dragged to the Weyr, he'd known next to nothing about dragons what that he hadn't garnered from fantastical tales of the past that had passed into myth.
"Oh absolutely. Velvet could show you anything you wanted to see that he could see. Anything. Granted it's going to be flitter-vision you get, but yes. I think it's the multi-faceted eyes that give them that different spectrum on what they see." Probably a lot more technical an answer than she wanted, but it boiled down to the same. Yes, she could see with her flitter. See a sunset, see a waterfall, see the stars, the clouds. All the things she'd only heard about.

Prontin seemed to glow in her pale skin as he answered her question with more than a yes, but a full confirmation and longer list. Then she... she would see. Like everyone else she would be able to experiance the rest of the world beyond the reach of her fingertips. She nearly crushed velvet as she hugged the little lizard that would make it all possible before suddenly dumping him on the table.
Springing to her feet, Prontin groped out for only a moment thankful that R'gar was so patient and would sit so still for her rather than pacing the room as they spoke. Finding his shoulders, she swept him into a happy embrace with her arms lightly around his neck.
"Oh R'gar! Take me to see a sunset! Please please, don't tell me no." The eagerness and simple excitement in her voice was contagious.

R'gar jumped when Prontin practically leaped out of her chair like she'd been stung, flinging her flitter willy nilly. It just wasn't like her. Blind people hardly ever moved so suddenly. But she wasn't going far it seemed - though getting a hug about the neck from her was the last thing he'd expected. Not quite sure what to do with that, R'gar tentatively touched her sides in a partial return hug.
"I will. I promise. I'll take you to see a sunset ... and anything else you want to see, as well." He promised vehemently. He could understand her desire to see the world, the things that were previously only words to her. For he'd been there once himself ... only it wasn't sight. It was dragons. Not so long ago dragons had gone from words on a scroll in myths, to the reality of his day to day life. It was quite the transition!
R'gar was sorely tempted to sweep Prontin up and hug her tight ... but he wasn't sure that would go over well at all so he didn't. Chances were good all it would do would be to terrify her. It was a difficult kind of torture, to be so near yet so far from a woman he had long since come to realize that he cared for a great deal more than as a charge.

((Posting from my phone so I appologize for any short comings.))
Truth be told, Prontin would have been surprised if the dragonrider would have said no to her request, but that did not make the warm feeling of happiness that blossomed inside her any less strong at hearing the promise come from his rich voice. She hugged him tighter in thanks, not realizing how contagious her wide smile might have become before stepping back to arms length, though she kept her hands upon him to know where he was.
Lifting her sightless eyes, they gazed over his shoulder though she spoke to him. "Today? I can carry Trouble or take him back to my room before we go. We can see the sunset today right? I didn't smell rain by the doors today."
Her fingers unconciously spread as her hands slid from behind his neck to rest on his collar bone as she attempted in vain to look up at him. While she'd have never known what a pleading look might actually look like, anyone nearby could hear the hope in her voice as it was colored in emotions.

R'gar could not help but smile at the unmistakable visage of Prontin's pleasure practically radiating off of her. Even for someone who never had seen expressions on other people, she sure had a whole range of them that she used. Somewhat different from the common people, but definitely there to be seen.
"Yes, today. I can take you today. The sun sets every day, or at least so it did the last time I checked." He couldn't help but laugh. "You can bring Trouble. If he awakes alone, he would only come after you anyway, I think. I think I know a really good place to go to, to get you a really good look at the sunset. But you'll have to trust me. You won't have anything to hang onto but me." He warned, in all honest truthfulness.
Truly, from up high was the best place to have the best skyscape. He knew of a place they could reach on foot, but as he warned there were no walls for her to reach out to. "I will let you know when the time approaches. Right now I believe Rukbat is still pretty high in the sky and not ready to set just yet. Okay?"
